Sean Davis 3rd Forrest Gump moment

I'm not the only one who didn't like the Davis pick.

Here's the thing, in order for me to stop posting about him, others have to stop saying hey Coach when Davis does something.

If that stops, things will be fine. But for now it has taken on a life of its own.

Still think Polamalu was a bust with a head too big?

you're not a scout.

The scouts did not think he was that good, and a peek at the Cowboys war room had him as a 5th round pick if memory serves.

As usual you miss the point. My point was that you pull what is a meaningless stat to claim that the kid sucks and you bring it up multiple times in multiple threads, as if that somehow makes it a legitimate claim.

How are missed tackles, blunders that cost the Steelers games ( Plural ) and dropping what should have been interceptions meaningless stats?

Please explain.

Well does that add to his Pass Defensed tally?

Yes, it does!. He has two passes defense, both of which were horrible throws by the Qb that 8 times out of 10 another DB intercepts. So in other words, if you were out there with the exact same throws, you might get your first NFL interception.

In multiple threads you have harped on his lack of passes defended...you know that is the stat I am referring to since I have shown in each thread why this stat is meaningless.....much like your opinions.....

Coach if you.........nah, nevermind, you pretty much proved what I was going to say just by your comments. Clueless.

Please, Burns is covering WR's by himself and making plays. Davis is not making ANY plays, except when the ball has been thrown right at him and he doesn't; catch it.

Davis as a corner would be toast. He was very quiet yesterday in the fine day for the DB's as the pass rush was killing a winless Cleveland team.

Burns is covering WR by himself..because, well, that's what cornerbacks are supposed to do. Davis isn't a cornerback he is a SAFETY, so of course he's not going to cover wideouts from the snap. He plays the Box Safety, which lends to run support first then pass coverage, and matches one/one help on 3rd downs WITH CBs. And before you travail the "he failed miserably at corner earlier this season", he was playing the nickel defender/slot cover, not as a true CB.

As for "he was quiet yesterday for a fine day for the DB's, now I know you don't watch games. The weather had more of a role in limited passing than our pass coverage. Burns pick was a pass caught in the wind and turned into a duck. He had better make that pick with him facing the ball. He also dropped a sure fire gift right in his hands as well, and had chances for two others. Are you going to bury Burns for that? Nope, you won't.......For crying out loud Ben didn't even throw close to 200 yards because of the wind. That pass to AB in the first quarter was like a boomerang....

Coolie is spot on in his critique.....

What about the other 30 teams? You have their scouting reports? I doubt you have JJ's scouting report. Post the link please....

Um, sometimes safeties cover WR's by themselves, particularly in cover three. And sometimes they cover tight ends by themselves. But I'm sure Coolie knows that.

Burns has a lot of PD's because he plays the ball well when it in the air.

Davis played 38 games in college and had 5 interceptions. He also had 14 PD's in 38 games played. Not great.

But two seasons Daivs only had 3 PDs. Not exactly the mark of a ball hawk, and of course it's easier to break up passes vs College ACC and Big Ten QB's

Burns had six interceptions in his last season alone and was rotated.

It's not hard to see who has the better ball skills in college or the pro's Its Burns.

As to the quiet day comment, Clevland threw it 41 times. Hardly quiet for a DB, their QB's suck and were highly pressured.

How good is your zoom? I couldn't find Sean Davis' name.

Scroll down. Round 5 on their board is on the page below. You'll see it. And Ike can see it too.

I see Coolie. Missed tackles, dropped interceptions, and such as meaningless stats! Drawing a penalty late that helps Dallas win the game is meaningless! Taking off out of now where on a blocked punt, allowing the man next to you to run by unblocked is meaningless! Getting spun around three times by one player allowing a TD is meaningless! Taking bad angles to a ball and allowing a long score meaningless!

Get a clue son, and please NEVER use a stat, otherwise, your going to be very guilty of a double standard because you've already indicated they are " meaningless "

If these posts upset you, I suggest you skip them. Trying to call me out is only going to upset you more when I reply back with data, none of which you can say is false.

When did this become Burns vs Davis. Come to think of it though you didn't like either pick..you said Burns was a reach if I remember correctly

What does where the Cowboys have him rated have to do with us or the other teams in the NFL?? The cowboys board is what every body goes by??

What other boards can you show me?. This is the sample

As for the Cowboys, I think they nailed the Prescot, and Elliot picks and built a powerful OL through the draft. They have two potential rookies of the year. Is there a better rookie class in the NFL? Not likely...

Why do I need to show you other boards. We know there are 31 other teams. Why does the cowboys board matter. Please don't say because the nailed Prescott and Elliot. They also took your boy Gregory in the second last year and spent a high pick on Clairborne. Oh it matters cause their board reflects your opinion on Davis so it's now the Bible..

stats without context are meaningless, which is the point I have made all along. You are way to full of yourself.
