Any word on Tuitt or Green

Ladarius Green DNP Friday, still in protocol

Ladarius Green (concussion, questionable) did not practice Friday.

It's a downgrade after Green practiced in full Wednesday and Thursday.

Coach Mike Tomlin said on Friday that the team didn't get the results they wanted from Green after Thursday's practice, and he remains in the league's protocol. Green apparently didn't gain clearance from an independent neurologist and probably won't play in Sunday's Wild Card game against the Dolphins.

Just wondering with his questionable status how is it possible for Green to clear the protocol by Sunday if the last practice was on Friday. Isn't a full Friday practice the final test for clearance?

I am betting it isn't possible,

Doesn't sound likely he plays does it

because when the Steelers win tomorrow, they couldn't use his speed on the field the following week?

lulz cut him

Agree 100%. I don't dislike the guy but I disliked the signing. Besides, James was developing just fine so I didn't see the need for another TE. We're going to end up paying several million against the cap to get 3 or 4 games out of him.

James' upside is a No. 2 tight end and the Steelers made a good move to go out and get a No. 1 option. He was widely considered one of the top signings and a guy who should have had a breakout season in this offense. Unfortunately he was damaged goods and the Steelers will probably never get their return on investment. Given his injuries, they may be in the market for a top tight end again this offseason.

Unfortunately, if he did have a set back and can't play this week, I don't see him playing at all in the playoffs and he may not be on the team next year. He may retire or be forced to retire.

And thats life. I hope if that's the case he does retire and can hopefully still have some life. Concussions are a *****.

Well............We NEVER sign ANYBODY......Football is a game where you can get knocked silly.......He is a threat we never had, but yeah he has gotten scrunched.....(IS THAT EVEN A WORD?)

I still like the signing as at least we FINALLY brought in someone

Book hasn't been written yet. There is still playoff games to be played.

Still opportunities for him to shine.

Obviously they can win without Green but it would be a bonus if he could play in the next round.

James has come along way but like I have been saying since the Green debacle at the beginning of the year he is not even close to being the threat that Green would be if Ben and him start to sync. And you were just starting to see it before the concussion too.

Whats Jesse James 40, like 4.8? Greens combine 40 was 4.4...Basically as fast as every receiver on the team lol.

Nobody wondering about blocking abilities either.

Thats just it they didn't sign him for his blocking abilities at all. They have James for that..they signed him for his WR like abilities. To be a match up issue for defenses. In the few games he played they got that. Sad it was just a few games.

I see us looking at a better TE this off season. I hope Green can have three more games yet this year. I do hope he does what is right for his long term future.

Does retirement create any cap saving over a release?

The only change is if a retiring player chooses to give back a portion of their signing bonus. It's not a precedent the Steelers have ever set, but it has happened before. I wouldn't expect it here though. His bonus wasn't that high, so the Steelers will eat the cap hit.

Jesse James had a key block on the AB first TD and on one of Bells big runs (not sure if he scored). The passing game was not featured today, but I'd say he had a great outing.

He still telegraphs routes... though that catch off the potential interception made up for it a bit today...

Here's the word on Tuitt. He's a ******* monster!

Green is still in the protocol according to Tomlin at his Press Conf. I'm not expecting him to be available Sunday and if we win, not the rest of the way either. When he was knocked out of the game, I had a feeling that was going to be the end of his season.
For his own sake of health and life moving forward, he should consider retiring. It's unfortunate for us, but understandable.

He is different then our other TEs and makes that group better when he plays.
Emphasis Wig's... It's the "When he plays" part that's important. See. You can have as different a TE as you like. You can have ******' RuPaul if you want. But if RuPaul aint lining up at the end of the line, nobody's wondering if that's a dude or a lady are they?

Um. Derrick Thomas? How bout him. We could sign him. It may only take a couple million at this point in his career. How about Corey Stringer? We could shore up the O-Line.

With our current personal, we seen how good it was to have green on the field. If he is done, we will need to go out and get another high end TE. That is the piece of the puzzle that we are missing on offense. I like the way Jessee James is developing but........ He is a great #2TE. He could up his game but then again we may be seeing his upped game now.
