Deflategate Investigation: Complete ... Awaiting Report.

I still do not believe the investigation went far enough. At this point direct evidence may not be available but witnesses could be compelled to talk particularly the ball boy and equipment guy. The other 31 teams could file a law suit against the team for doing damage to them and loss of income resulting from their actions. A good lawyer could get direct testimony from these guys to go back the entire time they were doing it as well as additional things they would do to affect the out comes of games such as electronic use bugging locker rooms etc.
And gamblers could possibly file a class action lawsuit in Nevada where sports betting is legal.

7. McNally was already on the NFL's radar from a 2004 incident

There was an incident from a game on Oct. 25, 2004 that included Patriots ball boys relaying balls that were supposedly approved into the game, but they were actually non-approved practice balls. For Patriots haters who think they've been cheating all through their dynasty, this will be some more fuel.

McNally was mistakenly referred to as "Jim McNulty" in a memorandum from that incident.

"Mr McNulty advised that he had no idea how Patriot‟s practice balls could have gotten into the hands of the game day sideline ball boys and or how they could have been handed to the referee by a ball boy for insertion into the game," Wells' report said, citing a memorandum.
McNally said it was an honest mistake involving the ball boys. The NFL said the Patriots didn't provide a reasonable explanation and "warned that disciplinary action against the Patriots could result if a similar incident occurred in the future because it could be interpreted as a competitive violation."

So, that provides some idea to the answer of how long have the Pats** been ******* with the damned balls. They got caught sneaking practice balls into games before the rule change. Then Tommy Boy goes around the league lobbying to be able to condition his footballs the way he sees fit.
In any event, Deflategate should be considered that second violation and all fines/suspensions etc. are valid, deserved ... and in my opinion, lenient.

wouldn't this then be at least the third violation?

Very Krappfy of the NFL to have had no involvement in the intervening period....

Third competitive violation. But second one involving manipulating the footballs in some manner.

Nothing less than this works for me right now...

One has to wonder why the rest of the teams tolerate this ****. Cheating for more than a decade, are the owners and operators of the teams that far out of touch with reality in the games? I know there are some very restrictive rules in racing for example and cheating is handled very quickly in that venue as winning equals money.

Pats lawyers say McNally referred to himself as deflator bc he was trying to lose weight

This is incredible. They more they fight, the dumber they look. The comedy from all this is going to be tremendous.

"The Patriots are claiming the term "Deflator" was used to reference to Jim McNally losing weight, not deflate footballs."

Oh my god that's probably the stupidest thing the Patriots could say. Only a complete moron would believe that. I friggin love it!

that's just so ******* pathetic that I can't stop laughing

Don't you know everyone associated with the *PATS think that they are SUPERIOR to everyone and that everyone else is STUPID ..

this is ******* lovely.
so lovely

Tiger Woods can hit a golf ball once and tell you if it's made properly
Evan Longoria can swing a bat once and tell you the weight and length
LeBron James can bounce a basketball once and tell if it's properly inflated
Sidney Crosby can hit a puck once and tell if it weighs the right amount.

Tom Terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrific has no ******* clue the difference in football weights.

and they coincidentally have an equipment manager trying to lose weight who calls himself "the delfator"

and this is the guy bringing it all down:

this is seriously so ******* brutal that it's hilarious

I can't even listen to Sirius NFL radio right now..

The obvious attempt to cover their employesr *** is very obvious and nauseating ...

That station has lost a lot of cred with me...
Hell... if it wasn't for Seriously Sinatra...I would cancel my subscription... :0

So he was suspended for trying to lose weight?

They would have been better off saying that the "deflator" was a nickname his wife gave him, but with the help of Viagra, he was hoping to overcome that ignominy. :jag:

OMG, it's even funnier in the full context!

It's a like an explanation from a 6 year old. One that would warrant further punishment.

Patriots: 'Deflator' was weight-loss term

According to the Patriots' Wells report rebuttal website: "[Patriots equipment manager] Mr. Jastremski would sometimes work out and bulk up -- he is a slender guy and his goal was to get to 200 pounds. [Patriots locker room attendant] Mr. McNally is a big fellow and had the opposite goal: to lose weight. 'Deflate' was a term they used to refer to losing weight."

Wow! What an unfortunate coincidental nickname!

"And I suppose Jastremski's nickname was the Inflator?"

Pats: "Uh... Yeah, yeah! It was, in fact."

I hope the NFL's counsil literally wipes their *** with that explination... that is absurd... also there are a dozen radio tapes of Brady talking about how he likes a underinflated football.... how can they really expect anyone to be dumb enough to believe any of this... this will end poorly in the court of public relations and that is where NFL appeals are really won or loss... and honestly, i dont think they have a prayer in the regular legal courts with anything

I would respectfully suggest that the teams that did not have a fair chance lost money that they could have made with a better record and more playoff wins and or championships. Money might be a reason to keep Goodell but not a good reason to put up with cheating.
