On one level I'm happy he just likes the chronic. On another he seems to like it way too much. Sounds like there is a very wide berth given and he still hasn't learned and he is basically on his last chance.

Might as well sit him tomorrow and play with what they have for Sept 10, which I'm gonna have to miss cause of my job. CRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPES!

Reading an article on the test pisses me off even more. I know Bell was busted while driving, so that is one thing. But, they know they will be tested in the spring for "recreational" drug use. The 2 or 3 month window is specified in the testing procedures. If you can't stay away from pot for 2 or 3 months, when you know you will be randomly tested, at some point, then you definitely have issues. I can't recall if Bryant had an issue in college with marijuana but I think he might have. If so, this makes this even more disturbing in regards to him having a possible addiction issue.

We've seen this before with Santonio Holmes so, I'm not expecting much better results at the end of the day with Bryant. Brown will be a Steeler for life, Bryant won't get beyond his rookie deal if this continuous to happen.

The Steelers beating themselves with these suspensions and injures. Hopefully Murphy and Coates can take advantage!

I'm thinking that they should look at AB and Wheaton with Archer on the slot. If Dri can't fill that spot, what is his position on the team. He sure as hell isn't a real running back. When they go beyond three its DHB or Coates. I'd start with DHB of course because he has played.

and now we know why Gregory wasn't getting drafted by the Steelers, that would've been three known stoners on the team

The plan - according to reporters that know stuff like Jim Wexell - is to use AB and DHB on the outside with Wheaton remaining in the slot when they go to 3 WR sets. That said, I'm sure the 2 WR formations will be AB and Wheaton.

Having nightmares about DHB running free behind the defense and having the ball clang off his hands...

I hope he catches the first couple, then he can work as a decoy and require safety help

Bryant is not bright according to this report.

Suspended for 2012 bowl game due to academic issues.

According to ESPN's Scouts Inc. (Insider subscription required), NFL scouts have "voiced concerns regarding 'mental capacity,'" which often means scouts are concerned about his ability to handle an NFL playbook.

He also had two children I think before entering the draft unmarried.

Yeah. Who hasn't seen Knocked up? Jokes aside the Steelers knew this was coming, and so did Bryant.

Do a Brady. Appeal then sue if the appeal is denied. Run out the clock in court.

It's the American way.

Maybe they (the Steelers) won't be so quick to delete a couple of the young receivers who've shown some talent in camp and the preseason.

I'd rather keep a 6th receiver on the roster than a 10th linebacker.

Come on down Murph!

Maybe they can't learn. Maybe they are just to damn stupid to learn.

For NFL teams it must be like herding cats. Damn near impossible, but maybe for a bit you are luckier than other times.

Herding cats is easy. You just shoot the one's that don't listen......trouble is pretty soon you run out of cats.

I'm going out on a limb and predicting that the Steelers will pass on Bryant when his rookie contract is up.

On a related note. AB and his agent must be smiling.

Im confused as to when expectations changed for a bunch of jocks to be a bunch of Einsteins?

well he's a class act, hard work, no off field issues, good leader. The guy deserves a new contract, when the moment arrives (maybe next season)

Tomlin's "Don't be the guy" speech obviously isn't working either...they are all over the headlines these days.

But you can't do bedchecks 24/7, and you're right, players aren't getting any smarter. Seems a lack of discipline in the locker room where the vet players are supposed to mentor the young guys in the right direction is missing.

I do not think a player getting suspended for pot use reflects a locker room leadership problem. It reflects the reality that a lot of people like to get high and the further reality that everyone assumes that they will not be the one who gets caught. From a google search, I found the list below (at celebstoner.com, which is humorous). So, I have not verified its accuracy. However, if accurate, 17 different players on 13 teams (plus a couple free agents). So, nearly half of the league has someone suspended for it. Do all of these teams have a leadership problem? This list, again per the site, does not include the PED folks, which is another 6 players across 5 teams (4 news ones not on the first list).

Substances of Abuse
Oday Aboushi, G, Jets - 1 game
Le'Veon Bell, RB, Steelers - 2 games
LeGarrette Blount, RB, Patriots - 1 game
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, free agent - 1 game
Marcel Dareus, DT, Bills - 1 game
Josh Gordon, WR, Browns - 16 games (full season)

Sheldon Richardson, DE, Jets - 4 games
Ace Sanders, WR, free agent - 10 games
Jerome Simpson, WR, 49ers - 6 games
Akeem Spence, DT, Bucs - 1 game
Sean Smith, CB, Chiefs - 3 games
Trey Watts, RB, Rams - 4 games
Subtotals: 17 players, 63 games, 3.7 games per player
PEDs
Victor Butler, LB, Giants - 4 games
Antonio Gates, TE, Charges - 4 games
Dion Jordan, DE, Dolphins - 16 games (full season)
LaRon Landry, S, free agent - 10 games
Ryan Seymour, G, Browns - 4 games
Derek Wolfe, DE, Broncos - 4 games
Subtotals: 6 players, 42 games, 7 games per player

That's a cop-out to say everyone is doing it so it's OK

**** that **** - if you're gonna get busted for 4 games let it be for PED's - - at least you're trying to improve your abilities for the team\
