I think that is a fabulous idea... get a petition to replace these guys with Choir boys... we wont win football games but man will we have a squeaky clean image...
Everyone is saying drugs, but you would have to have a bunch of failures to get 4... he could have had one at the draft, and could have had one at any time after that too...because they don't always announce that. It could also be something from the elbow surgery... if he didn't submit things right the NFL isn't very understanding... we just don't know yet...

Even if they legalize it the nfl can call it a banned substance given that the players are idealized by kids. If i were the nfl i would prohibit it even if it were legal everywhere. And this coming from a seldon weed smoker, but I'm not a public figure nor I'm tested on my work
They haven't banned alcohol or smoking... if it is legalized everywhere they will allow it. it probably will be off the testing list next CBA. until then its still dumb to do

I am surprised by the stupidity of the posters on here that don't understand drugs and call him stupid. Here me out..... I don't see him as dumb. I see him as having a problem plain and simple. That being said he has to be held accountable for his actions and obviously he is being held accountable here with fines, a suspension, and now not having the luxury of any future positive tests. When a player who is drafted fourth with oodles of talent still does drugs risking massive financial rewards and playing the game he loves especially after failing three times its not stupidity it's addiction in my book. I know because I am. Recovering addict and have 22 years sobriety and I know I risked everything myself. No matter what the consequences an addict still chooses drugs. The fact he has failed four tests in short order points to those choices being addiction. He needs help before he turns into josh Gordon and he's not far from being a Gordon unfortunately and yes it's probably why they drafted Coates. Grow up folks

Dumb. Just like Bell, works his rear end off to improve during the offseason then takes the selfish approach and gets suspended. Way to let down your teammates and the fans.

Marijuana usage is widespread in this country and not just young people. Theres quite a few users here at SN.....I don't use myself but where I used to work, the company pulled a random company wide drug test. I **** you not, id say that at least 1/3 of the corporate office tested dirty...some for coke, most for weed.....and it went all the way to management (who tested dirty). I knew this because I had to deactivate users network and vpn access. This was, again, a corporate headquarters for a well known company. Nobody saw that test coming and it netted a shitload of professionals. Weed is very very common in America...corporate America.
He is a GROWN man with a college education. If he has failed multiple tests, he is a dumb ***. I was his age, and I can tell you that I would never have failed multiple drug tests, if I had the chance to make millions. I started my business at the age of 24. I call it like it is, and he DOES NOT make more money than I do being that he is a 4th round pick. It looks like he never will, if he keeps this **** up...

Oh yeah, where I work all the workers are randomly drug tested but the office people aren't. At a prior job I hung out afterwork with the majority of employees, particularly mgmt. and 85% of them toked up. maybe more than that... I am desensitized to it... according to a dealer I knew its way way more widespread than people realize. If you don't do it, and I don't, you are in the minority in this country.
I mean I understand that its long past time to decriminalize it, but until it is decriminalized you cant do it if you don't want to be punished for it... this was just dumb in some dumbass way
