Elfie, you are living in revisionist history attributing your own biases by projecting outcomes.
To say Tomlin won a Superbowl with Cowher's players is akin to saying Cowher got to his first SB with Noll's players. Both are false narratives. Coaches don't come in, fire everyone, and start over anymore (though Noll did it when football was a second job for most players). It is unfair to blame coaches for the players still on the team when they arrive. It is up to the current coach to get the most out of their current players, and Tomlin did just that, as Cowher did before him.
If you want to compare coaches to Tomlin (as you showed in your pictures), Switzer doesn't compare. Short tenure, one SB appearance. Siefert does compare and was a very good coach in his own right. Tomlin will exceed him. Seifert isn't a lame duck coach, as you imply. over 100 wins, and 2 SB appearances, both wins.
I'm the one driving the greatness bandwagon for Tomlin. You may not see it yet, but I do. He's pulled a rabbit out of his hat to get this team to the playoffs. Uh, he did it against poor teams. Bullshit. 1. you complain he can't beat bad teams, he did this year, and 2 he knocked both division opponents out of playoff contention in back to back weeks.
This team is mentally tough and they don't blink when the game is on the line. They are believing the coach, and all the players are repeating his words. Right now, it doesn't matter if you believe in Tomlin or not. His players do, his locker room does, and his coaches do. That's the sign of a leader to me.
