Judge an offensive coordinator on how well he coordinates an offense. This "if he was any good, he'd have 10 teams fighting to make him a head coach" argument is nonsense. Same argument was made about Arians and he is now a 2x coach of the year. It's just a dumb argument - NFL teams are not good at choosing head coaches, especially the same teams that change coaches every 2 seasons.

The other thing about Haley is he seems to be sending out signals that he doesn't want to be a head coach again. That's been mentioned by a reporter or two who is close to the team. I mean, just look at him with that beard...not exactly sending the signal that "I'm the guy to be the face of your franchise for decades, Mr. Owner."

Coordinators get interviews because they are doing a good job and because their agent is on the front lines pushing for his client. If Haley is content where he is, then his name won't come up because it never gets that far. There are always back-channel discussions before it gets to the point where Adam Schefter is reporting that the Rams want to talk to Kyle Shanahan etc etc.

That will take a lowB repuS win and a desperate team.. And buyer beware, Haley without Ben is pretty bad. That much is proven. And any team that fired their coach likely has a sub-par QB to work with, no Bell, no AB, and a lesser OL coach.

But I will give Haley this. He has accomplished a lot for a guy who went to college for golf and as far I know never played the game of football in pads and a helmet.
90% of the reason NFL coaches are strategically inept is they are mostly former players who regurgitate old strategies and plays they were taught back in the day.... the nfl would be better served by finding people with strategic minded intellects and training them to be coaches... most military officers aren't just scrubs promoted through the ranks... most executives havent worked their way up the ladder in their companies...

It'll say teams weren't interested. Doesn't mean they were right. No one wanted Kurt Warner or James Harrison either. The entire league passed on Tom Brady 5 times. There are guys working 9 to 5s who would be Hall of Fame candidates if some team had given them a real chance. Mistakes are made. Haley wouldn't be the first coach who failed at his first job, and then became successful. You might have heard of some guy named Belichick.

Take away the CHEATING and see how good he is. I mean how much of his "fame" is cheating? 5% /25% / 83% HOW DO YOU KNOW??? To give credit to a proven cheater isn't greatness, it's underhanded.!!!

Depends on who and how you define strategically inept. There is probably no job in the world more people feel they can do better than NFL coach.
