If you hadn't heard, Tebow is on record as stating that it was God that won that game.
No use fighting against Him. I've always wondered whose side God is on in the big games.

I agree with what you said.Coaches do not care about all that. It is about getting through that press conference. Because by Tuesday and Wednesday, it's on to the next opponent, and what was said at the press conference is largely forgotten. Tomlin has been saying the same crap for 18 or whatever years, and it hasn't impacted him yet. It only bothers people that listen to what he says. Coaches are like politicians. You gotta go into it knowing you are gonna hear some bullshiit.
I agree the fan base is fed up. But it's more about the results than what he says. If the results were better, no one would care what his little go to sayings were. All that being said, the highly compensated comment, even though I rarely listen to anything he says outside of injuries, rubbed me the wrong way in the moment I heard it. It's just arrogance from a guy that should have some humility and gratitude for the job based on the results since 2010.
Fish in water --> I catch fish --> I touch fish --> I touch face --> I now grow tumors and ugly like Blitzsorry you must be the guy that swims while he fishes n a lake.

That one really sucked. I lived in San Diego at the time, and ran my mouth. Never have since. Just won't. Too harsh to be beaten down like that.Personally, the worst lost I remember was under Cowher - AFC Championship game in 1994 against the Chargers, who went on to be destroyed by the 49ers in SB 29. We may not have beaten the 49ers but I think we'd have made a game of it.
I was on a lot of beer.I was on Calling All Sports the week of that Chargers loss.
That loss sucked, but SD was better than anyone cares to give them credit for, they had the 5th ranked offense and 9th ranked defense and played a tougher schedule than we did, they beat Elway, Montana, and Marino that year.Personally, the worst lost I remember was under Cowher - AFC Championship game in 1994 against the Chargers, who went on to be destroyed by the 49ers in SB 29. That one stung mightily...my brother punched a hole in the wall. Think the 49ers would have had us in tgat SB...however, we would have one the next one vs Dallas had we had that SB experience against niners.Personally, the worst lost I remember was under Cowher - AFC Championship game in 1994 against the Chargers, who went on to be destroyed by the 49ers in SB 29. I agree. Our D stacked up against the 49ers well, IMO.I have never rewatched. Remember almost the whole game. When plays used to come on TV I would turn the channel.
Still hurts. The Steeler team could have best the 49ers

That was the playoff game in the first season. In message board-sphere I remember people tempering their collective "WTF did he just do?" with "he's learning..."I don't remember the precise circumstances, but I remember Tomlin going for two against Jacksonville one year fairly early on in his tenure here and it was totally unnecessary. We got penalized and lost 5-10 yards, and he still went for two. I was like WTF. That may have been a playoff game, but I c
I see your point but didn't his team in the last year or two go an entire season basically without scoring a TD on an opening drive? It's hard not to intuit that he doesn't place much premium on starting games fast. Keeping timeouts in his pocket at the end of the first half instead of playing for points has also been galling. You are taking seriously what he says. I don't. You see his statements deeper than I do. You see his statements as a reflection of his philosophy. I see his statements as convenient to eliminate possible questions over bad play and coaching. If a press guy asks, "Why did the team appear flat at the beginning of the game?," instead of addressing the question he says "games aren't decided in the first quarter," as a that press guy, where do you go with that? Do you keep hammering it, knowing you aren't gonna get anything more? Tomlin and other coaches do it because it works.
Yeah that '94 49ers team very well could be a Top 5-8 All Time single season team if not higher. They were a well-oiled machine.Personally, the worst lost I remember was under Cowher - AFC Championship game in 1994 against the Chargers, who went on to be destroyed by the 49ers in SB 29. I was 22 and had started following the Steelers as an 8 year old when I discovered the NFL in the 1979 playoffs in the Divisional Round walkover Miami. At that time of course I thought the Steelers would win every year. It was special to see them finally have a real chance to go back to the SB after the mediocrity of the 1980s. It felt like there was no way they could lose to the Chargers. That loss depressed me for days lol. That one really sucked. I lived in San Diego at the time, and ran my mouth. Never have since. It was the week leading up to the game. I think Yancey Thigpen was a guest and I could have asked him a question but didn't. I really have no idea what I did say when I got on the air, but I know as soon as it was over a friend that I had grown up with apparently found my number via "Information", called and asked if I was just on Calling All Sports. I guess I have a recognizable voice or something. It's hard to believe that was 30+ years ago.I was on a lot of beer.
Do betterCMT clearly stands for "Cheerleader Mike Tomlin".![]()
