Potential major ice storm in KC this weekend?

You could write potential ice storm, even if it wasn't forecast. I guess at this point there is a potential for 3 feet of snow as well.
Thursday afternoon is the soonest I'd start looking for Sunday game conditions.

Thanks for the news, Sir Spike - you've been slackin'...

I'm on the big chiefs board this week, seeing what the chatter is - yes, I stole this thread from them - I still have my password there from years ago when I joined in 2002 - yeah I know many of you weren't even born yet

they have the best girlie pic threads - 65,000 views and still going strong after years and years - and they have Casino

Mine are 10" even and I'm only 5'11". Them boys got small hands...j/k.

10" = large mitts. The NFL measures from pinky to thumb. I'd rather be over 6 feet tall than have big hands, but the good lord blessed me with both.

For those who like to measure such things, the average hand size for a man is 7.4 inches, but you won't find any that small in the NFL....I think.

one thing we don't need to post is potential dumbass when you post....you confirm it every time

damn, spike was just giving an early look at the possible game conditions to spur conversation....not fucktardery

I'm 38. I've seen Alex Smith plays dozens of NFL games. Probably watched 6-7 KC games in full this season.

I have not seen Smith that much this season. 6-7 games watched for an opposing team in a season is a lot. So why not issue a scouting report for us.

**** the weather and **** KC. The juice is loose. Run Bell all day

Leave yourself a very large cushion to get there early. Best case scenario you show up early and are tortured with the smell of KC BBQ in the parking lot.
We'll be in KC Saturday night. Driving from Louisville Saturday.

Ice possible on 10-year anniversary of infamous 2007 ice storm

The 10-year anniversary of Springfield's infamous three-day ice storm in 2007 just might yield another ice storm.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Springfield are keeping a close eye on an arctic front that will sweep in late Thursday night and Friday and set up conditions that might generate freezing rain Friday and Saturday — though nothing on the scale of what happened in 2007.

It's too early to know yet whether there will be significant accumulations of ice, though confidence is growing in forecasting models that are predicting sleet, ice or snow Thursday night, Friday and Saturday, according to Rob Frye, a meteorologist at the weather service's Springfield office.

The 2007 ice storm came in three waves of freezing rain on Jan 12-14, downing power lines and snapping tree branches laden with up to an inch and a half of ice. Ice accumulated so fast that even some trees keeled over, crushing homes and vehicles. In the Springfield area, some 200,000 people were without power for days. In areas outside the city some people lost power for two weeks or more.
