Do not believe the NFL is "rigged" in terms of the refs, but I submit that it is absolutely undeniable that certain players in the NFL get favorable treatment, just as certain baseball players get favorable treatment from umpires. Greg Maddux used to get strikes called on pitches 3" off the plate. Others did not.
Was that because the game was rigged? Of course not. Did Maddux's favorable treatment help him considerably? Damn right it did.
Brady is protected like no other QB, and that includes leeway for his blockers. The holding that the Patsies commit is pretty egregious. Further, the Patsie defensive backs have for years set new limits on the amount of contact that is allowed. When the other teams do the same, the announcers point it out, and are surprised that the refs don't call it more.
I suspect they don't call it more because they have been immunized by the Patsies constant hand-checking and grabbing, and therefore don't see a reason to call it.
