NFL Network Says AB to Bills

does AB just want the attention but at the end of day play in Pitt? this dude is crazy

Put your feelings about the man aside. He has been the Steelers beat writer for the Post-Gazette for decades and has remained in good standing with the team, he absolutely has better access than anybody.
I did put my feelings aside. That is a opinion, your opinion. I think some other reporters would disagree with you is what I am saying.

So let me ask this question please. When does Browns behavior become detrimental to the team where the league can suspend him without pay?
He has no say so on where he goes but is very vocal about it. He’s continued to slam the team, organization, individual players. When does the league step in with a warning to back off or be suspended without Pay? This ****** is under contract to this team for three more years without a no trade clause so he has zero input.

I think it's the team that is trading for him that wants to talk to him. They want to make sure he will actually play if they give up picks for him.

Don't sell him for cheap. Just leave him on the team. If he does a bell good on him. If not just dress him and throw the ball to everyone but him. **** him

Why though.. what is your logic to this.
If you allow it to be signalled that teams better get their best offer in by Friday or it's gonna be done, and it isn't done...... I dont know what that signals to you. To me it says either all your GOOD deals fell through........or you tried to create an artificial market. Both will be death to this deal. They will get **** all. Between this debacle and Bell it is pretty clear in my mind that the Steelers are in Bungleland led on the field by Marvin 2.0

The 49ers are sitting back in the weeds with the Jets, the Raiders and anyone else who has denied interest. Once the asking price falls to a late two or a third, they will scoop him. Which it will.

49ers players might have been interested in him, haven't heard their management express interest.

So we all know that this is a completely devised plan by Brown to get the Steelers to release him outright.
In his mind I’ll do whatever, say whatever, criticize whoever, to the point they release me. Now I can not only be free of the existing contract which becomes void, I can negotiate a new deal with whomever I want, hence the comment “I’m open for bidness”.
But and there’s always a but, he’s dealing with a billion dollar enterprise that don’t do business like that and they will not just fold their tent and give him what he wants. He’s been accustomed to getting whatever he wants for years (Many thanks for that Tomlin) so why not this time.
So Steelers better play hard ball here and if the deal doesn’t benefit the Steelers then **** Brown and he stays. You want to pout then pull the detrimental card out and invoke it and suspend without pay. Go retire then you ******* baby. We will see how long that lasts. I’ve had it with this guy!

For whatever reason it's as if Brown wants to be traded but wants the Steelers to not benefit at all from the deal. This is the thinking process of a vengeful, irrational and mentally compromised individual.

Very insightful post. You are right. He has made himself untradable. And the Steelers should play any hardball card they have with the league. To anyone who thinks make him play and don't throw him the ball. C'mon. That is not going to happen. It is so toxic, how could that ever work.
If the Steelers are not going to rewind this tape and see how they got here and fix it. Shame on them. Tomlin encouraged his players to Express themselves on social media. How is that working Mike?

That little ****** *** piece of **** ************. I seriously hope he ruptures both achilles while going to check the mail, a pox upon his entire ******, flea-ridden piece of **** life

In fairness to Omar, I utter that exact same phrase every morning, about no one in particular, over and over until I've had my coffee.

Mornings are rough...

I want a first round pick fair market value.

Fair Market Value is decided on by those in the market for his services. You can want $400k for your house, but if the market is down and nobody offers you more than 350k you either take 350k or your don't sell your house. Again, the Steelers have no leverage what so ever in this situation. Why would anyone offer you premium draft picks for a player that Rooney has already said needs to be traded, who has vilified the Steelers, and that you can no longer have in your locker room.

Very true. This is a messy divorce with 3 kids involved. There will only be degree of loss on both sides and let's be honest neither side is clean here. Two seasons and three high profile players Harrison , Bell and Brown taking heavy shots at the organization. Yet basically no moves on a coaching staff except for its best teaching coach choosing to coach elsewhere.

Right! None at all... aside from the RIGHTS to a player who has had no less than 100 receptions for no less than 1,300 yards for no less than 8 TDs each of the past six seasons.

There isn't a big difference in Raiders 27 and 35. 8 players will get picked, Steelers could even end up getting the player they wanted at 35 and
pay less in contract for him.

Ya, but if they're picking that late they're getting a scrub who won't crack the starting lineup for 4 years, much less make an impact.

Who is 30 and clearly doesn't want to be here and has no problems making very public comments on social media about his team including broadcasting live from the locker room. Oh and he wants more money. After today's weepstakes
It will become very obvious that the Steelers will get little for Mr. Bighead.

I may be missing the boat here but it seems like the Steelers have more leverage over Brown than he may realize.

As far as the salary cap goes, he costs the team basically the same whether he is traded or remains on the team. The only asset we pick up is a draft pick if he is traded.

So, if the draft pick isn't acceptable, I say leave him where he is and lay down the law. One incident and he is suspended without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. If he disrupts, or tanks his play, suspend him. If he wants to sit out and pout like Me'Veon Bell, so be it, saves us money. We can trade him up to Week 6 of next season. He's under contract so he either shows up and plays or he sits and doesn't get paid.

Under no circumstances would I consider releasing him. Do not set that precedent that anytime a player wants out of his contract he just needs to throw a tantrum and he gets his way.

And all three were at one time or offered to be the highest paid at their position. **** all three.

Than keep him and abide by team rules and enforce them.

Well if it was poor character analysis, capitulation to spoiled brat players or whatever, if the Steelers aren't going to realize they are actors in this mess it will stay ******.
