NFL Network Says AB to Bills

I’d pay a first for a few great years from a proven HOF player. These people are drunk if they’re trying to be cheap for a player like AB

Nothing to do with being cheap or drunk, every team knows the Steelers are bent over on this one and NEED to move Brown, why would you offer up a premium draft pick when the Steelers will end up moving him regardless. One way or another Brown will not be in a Steeler uniform again.

Yes, Pride, but the team can add MORE suspensions for conduct detrimental to the team for new offenses. And if ANYONE believes AB isn't going to continue his meltdown and do more things to warrant CDTT suspensions, I have a Bills Trade for ya.

I wouldn't move him Pride. How can you assume he'll even accept the new team once you DO put together a ****** trade? Clearly he's determined to force his release and I would literally pay the 2.5 million and do everything in my power to make his life a living hell from that moment on.

Again, there is nothing in his contract about effort, performance...etc as those are not able to be clearly defined from a suspension stand point. If Brown shows up after week 4, and is willing to attend practice, show up on game days...the Steelers will not have the ability to suspend him just because he is lazy in practice or runs a wrong route in a game. I don't think the biggest side of this debacle has even reared its head yet.

A hold out is something a player does, not something a team can do to a player. The only way a team can not pay out a contract is to suspend a player for up to 4 weeks. No other magical ways to not pay Brown's contract.

So AB must show up? How, I thought the Steelers didn’t have any leverage?

CDTT suspensions are levied on behalf of the team. I doubt there's ever a clause in a player contract that specifies which sort of childish antics are allowed and which are not. CDTT are thus at the discretion of the team.

In fact, it's a rather broad interpretation for the NFL and teams to be applied. Most interestingly is the last bullet point of integrity.

Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL personnel

That particular paper doesn't shine any light on the potential of A ***** acting like a child, nor should it. These guys are paid handsomely to act as professionals, and not like A *****. I mean, a guy like A ***** should have enough money banked and invested so that no member of his family for generations should ever have to work again. Though, as been established by Yours Truly, A ***** is not your ordinary average idiot. He's a spectacular idiot.

With spectacular idiocy comes spectacular consequences. As such, if A ***** were to continue acting like A ***** on the sidelines, it could be determined as "CDTT" and he could suffer consequences. Interestingly enough, at this site https://operations.nfl.com/football-ops/nfl-rules-enforcement/ if you scroll down, you see:

Things you find when you're looking for something else, right?

Anyway, at that site there is also some wording that a team could fine a player for conduct. Perhaps if A ***** acts like A ***** on the sideline, he gets a warning, then a fine and then an increased fine as long as he keeps acting like A *****. If he doesn't play the way he can and should, he could be yanked off the field. Which would hurt his stock and bruise his vaginalego.

A ***** really has no recourse but to play as well as he can and hope he can get traded if he really wants out.

Though I believe he'll come back, fences will be mended and we'll go on to slowly forget this ****.

Then, depending on how the team is doing, he could be traded before the trade deadline.

He's put himself on thin ice. Jumping up and down acting like a spoiled little ***** isn't helping his cause.

His jeopardizing the Steelers ability to make trades alone constitutes breach of contract, not to mention his other antics. If the Steelers wanted to play hardball they could sue, go after his signing bonus and not pay him another cent if he refuses to clean up his act.

Why are the Steelers not letting bABy & his agent talk to teams to try & secure a trade he’d agree too? If the Steelers don’t absolutely love he deal, don’t agreed it.

so, you would be comfortable them talking to NE, BAL, CLE, KC or CIN? I wouldn't let them do **** on the Steelers' behalf, esp after he basically blew up the Bills trade.

Sure, go talk to them. Steelers are obligated to exactly nothing.

Brown can show up, and go 50% thru practice and show up on game day...there is NOTHING the Steelers can do about it. They can't suspend him for not running fast enough or blocking good enough. If Brown does show up you have a whole other can of worms to contend with. The Steelers have NO leverage what so ever, anyone that believes otherwise is delusional.

Right. Show up day in, day out and be in the physical presence of 60 men who are fully aware that he is purposely sabotaging their work and livelihood. Right! The guy who couldn’t take Ben calling him out? He’d much sooner hold out than try that.

Have you ever read an actual player contract? Show me the section that deals with jeopardizing a trade and the consequences for such. The Steelers have just as much chance to lose that suit as they do to win it. If it were such an airtight contract do you think Rooney would be handling the situation the way that he has. Again, he gave up any leverage when he told the world that it is best if the Steelers and Brown part ways, so why would he make those type of statements if his intention was to go through the legal system. As an attorney, you would never admit to any fault at any level as it only adds credence to Brown's case that he has been unjustly treated and that preferential treatment is a reason for his displeasure. I can't stand how the petulant child has become a ******* *****, but it is not as clear and cut as some of you seem to think it is.

i'd happily trade AB for Tyreek Hill.

What Gestapo methods do you see any of those 60 men doing to Brown? There is NO way that AB is a part of the Steelers this season because of this exact issue. They cannot run the risk of having him show up. They cannot afford to have the drama of having him around. They cannot afford to have the drama continue. Brown will be gone before the start of training camp for whatever they can get for him.

I would trade him for a 6 pack of Stoney's just to have the drama over with and the cancer to be gone from the locker room (for now).

Pretty soon all we are going to receive for Brown is a bag of ****..lol. Brown **** go together.

Steeler Pride, I know you want AB to win this, but consider. If he does get his release, what stops Pouncey from playing 1 season on his deal and then demanding a release so he can keep his bonus money and go sign one final big deal with another team? What stops ANY newly signed player from doing that?

At some point the Steelers need to take back their culture. This is a much bigger issue than whether or not AB is worth a damn as a player for the Steelers anymore.

Why???...

Did the Steelers think for one millisecond that AB would go along with a trade to the lowly Bills?? The front office just got played hard and it’s only going to get worse now. I see no chance we get anything more than a second round pick for him at this point...

You try to maximize what you can get. If it falls through, it isn't from a lack of trying.
