Le’Veon Bell: Will He? Won’t He? Who Cares??

All on the Anderson train choo choo.

At his advancing age and likely going a bad team with a lot of money, way to go out on a limb there Coach.

He's more likely to go to a stupid team. If he's really as good as he thinks, lot of teams, good or bad will want him.

The team is not better on the field for what happened. They simply are not. But despite the horrific injury to Shazier I really don't see how they can be better on the field than last year and that team fell far short. The subtraction of Harrison, Bell and Haley could have this team moving together in the right direction. And when this team has won championships it has been when the team was tight and moving together.

As I said before, I hope the Steelers still try to tag him next year for the 2nd tag since he didn't sign the current 2nd tag contract. This should not go to the 3rd tag since the 2nd tag wasn't made official by Bell signing the tag. No matter what, i hope they put the screws to him as much as possible. And, when he does leave.....I never route for a player to get injured, but.........in this case......hmmm.......

**** Bell, hope he gets hit by a bus on the way out of the Burgh. Total overrated ******* jagoff.

Happy Days are here again, Goodbye kiss our back sides, who cares and go hold up someone else.

Best thing that could have happened to the Steelers. Able to move on with Connor who’s tearing it up and save money in short and long term. Bell was a liability and clearly having him didn’t bring us a Super Bowl. Hopefully some other team over pays for his services now and we can invest in other more important areas.

For Bell to not have signed. Some team must have offered him some good coin to turn down 14.5 this season. We will find out who that team is next year.

WTF Ark, The guy used social media to troll Colbert and the Steelers. The OL repudiated him earlier. How can you say he was not a cancer?

Conner through 8 games in 2018 is better than Bell's first or last eight games in 2017. Much cheaper and younger too,

I hope the Steelers forget about him. I Was on record trying to get him to sign the tag and trade him when teams had lots of cap space before the draft.

I hope Bell makes less than 14.5 million a year in 2019.

The OL all backed him thru the preseason. The "repudiation " was mild, at the worst.

That's tampering. Doubt that happened. I think he believes he will get a number regardless if anyone has talked to him.

Who’s having what for dinner? I’m going to slap some steaks on the grill...

Why not just cook them????? Unless you're into slapping I guess........................

Salute the nation

"The Great Pumpkin is not arriving" said one guy on Depot's twitter feed, lol.

Just so bizarre why the guy would come to Pittsburgh and not sign by the deadline.

I almost wonder if he planned to sign and then saw what happened to Bryant and changed his mind.

Nah its one of two things....

A.) unexpected diminishing return on risk
B.) he was always planning this and everything up until now has been trolling the team and fans out of spite

There are solid theories backing both up

When the very fair offer the Steelers made to him was benieth what he wanted he clearly didn’t show up out of spite... and when the Steelers started poorly it played into the narrative he wanted perfectly.
But once they went on a win streak without him and Conners stats surpassed his then the plan to show up at the bye to “ save the day “ went south because then you run the risk of putting up inferior numbers and making it look like your success is from the line and not your skills...
Once conner cemented a starters role regardless of Bells status, then you start really risking injury for a backup part time role....

The other theory says that every tweet and action was designed to make everyone think he is comming back cause he is a narcissist and he wanted to keep his name in the news....

He is about to Mike Wallace himself regardless ....

I hear you, but I also wonder if that was before or after the pick-up basketball game.

Some solid observations.

I think he kept changing his game plan. Of course it always revolved around money. I think a element of pride factored in not wanting to be a back up.

Ultimately he wants that big money up front, and thinks his actions put him in line to get paid.

And maybe a challenged team will give him his cash up front.

And yeah he is a attention *****. I expect he will be still bugging Steelers players on twitter so he can get that attention he desires.

Really will be interesting to see what the Steelers do with him moving forward next year.

If it is in line with what the fans think.

It's a damn shame when a player sits out of football for awhile finally comes back and ruptures/tears an Achilles in his first practice back, sure hope something like this doesn't happen to...wait, I kinda do

F L B

Just glad the door slammed shut at the last stop on the route and this bus is chugging off without the dumbass.

I never wish injury, but it isn't uncommon to see injury after inactivity.

I’m glad it’s over. We can and will start hearing about him again the second the Steelers are out whether that’s before the playoffs or after they win a super bowl. My hope is we put off the drama until February.

I think the Steelers will wash their hands of him but I honestly wouldn’t. There’s no way the Rooney’s don’t have the money to keep his bullshit claim of this season counts, even though he never signed his tag, in the courts at least long enough to push his compensatory pick up 2021 or get a deal worked out and force him to sign and be traded or sit out another season. Which would be definite careers suicide. His market is going to be damn near Kaepernik at this point.

Interesting comment from a former GM. Miller and Kiran on NFLR were diagraming the situation and PK made an comment which kinda makes sense.

He mentioned that, it’s unlikely, but the way this whole situation has played out by leaving money on the table and through today, it’s possible Bell already has a buyer lined up. His relative silence or passivity on social media, when in the past he’s was very active might suggest there have been talks already.

If so, that’s a big no no. Just think if that was to be proven......

Wouldn't surprise me either, and he has been strangely silent on Twitter.

Or the contrary can happen Ike. The NFL owners are tight. They see what Bell did to a family organization that runs on trust and honesty. For Bell to behave the way he did on social media, and flaunting the system agreed upon by the owners and players, Free Agency may be a well that just ran dry for Bell. He's not Gurley. Not by a mile, so the league owners may come together and lower his value. This is why a transition tag may be interesting. If the Steelers Trans tag him, and the best offer is $10-12M/season, they **** Bell's agent. He will never have another high profile client again. And trust me, the league hates his agent.
