Holy ****, we got our TE!!! Eric Ebron signs with Steelers

I like the signing. Ebron has big play-making ability, which the Steelers desperately need.

Hopefully they'll be able to keep either him or McDonald on the field, because they're both injury-prone.

Juju did this year, too, by comparison to the year before. A good QB makes all the difference.

Juju was also facing top level defensive backs for the first time, didn't have Brown getting doubled taking the coverage to the other side of the field.
Hopefully he looks better with Ben throwing him the ball this year. but I don't think he is the machine people on here think he is.

I really like Juju. But I might just agree with you a bit. We'll see.

Nice little look on Ebron's redzone TDs.

Of those 9 red zone touchdown receptions that Ebron has registered the last two seasons, nine were caught in the end zone, most among tight ends, according to Next Gen Stats

Has this officially happened yet, the actual signing?

Yes, we just don't know the contract details yet. For him or Dangerfield. We do know it's a 2yr $16M contract, but how much is signing bonus vs salary is still unkown.

im afraid too many fans are assuming we got the 2018 ebron and not the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2019 version

Lot of that will be dependent on which Big Ben version we get.

idk. im sure ebron can drop passes from any qb and be injured all on his own

Just sit back and watch the air show when Ben returns to form. It should be an attractive TE duo when put him and McDonald in together...

Ben has to be licking his chops. 2 legit TE's. Multiple RB's that can catch out of the backfield. And, JuJu returning to form after his injury-plagued season along with an improving Diontae and Washington. I sure hope Ben gets back to form. It will be fun to watch for the next 2 years.

You're right, I had Jimmy Graham's contract on the mind...

$6M a year is correct, but we don't know how it breaks down.

I think it's a good contract given the possible upside to him compared to what Hooper and Graham got in FA.

yeap given Graham age and Hooper contract, Ebron is a good risk/reward option

Hey if that is a motivator I will take it. Ben seems to get the most out of offensive players too, so I factor that in as well.
Poni comments a long-time scout says Ebron doesn't keep quiet. Ebron immediately chirps back.

I'm all fine with that being a motivating factor. Heck, Devin Bush just got a mural painted in his how and he has "undersized" painted under his Steelers jersey. Whatever drives and gets the most out of them is great. However, if you don't want to be a guy known for talking, maybe don't respond to a radio host like Poni, who everyone knows likes to stir the pot.

A lot of it probably stems from his Detroit days where, let’s face it, the Lions are the worst organization in football (maybe all of sports). The fans hated this guy from the moment he was drafted simply because he was a TE. He had 0 chance to succeed in Detroit, and the fans, and media took every opportunity to lament that.

Laderius Green part deux...

I hope you are TOTALLY WRONG on this. Ankle problems are easier diagnosed than head trauma problems........................

Salute the nation
