Dunlap: AB is going to dance, go watch Matlock if you're offended

I like the comment from Joe Green regarding celebrations. I think it is over played in the nfl. If it draws a penalty it is not a good thing. If it could be something that incites other players to take cheap shots it is not a good thing. I saw one of the players flip the ball to one of the zebras after a score nicely done right now I can not remember who did it but it was a pleasant change.
Agree. I saw that too. Maybe it was a rookie? Scored a couple of TDs and just gave the ball to the ref both times.

I think that was James.

So,,,,,,,,,,,,, brown gets to decide when the team gets penalized due to his needs?
He shouldn't be being penalized. He isn't violating the rules per the handbook. The refs just have no idea what they're doing.

I did not think the celebration after the 2nd TD deserved a flag. Later in the same game, the Chefs' running back scored a TD to make the score 36-7, did a groin thrust at the crowd, and then grabbed his crotch.

No flag.

If any celebration deserved a flag, it was by the dickweed who was celebrating HIS TEAM GETTING SLAUGHTERED, 36-7.

my fav AB celebration was him flying onto the goal post last season! That was worth the flag and fine. Was my profile pic until after the Denver game. Like Dunlap said, it's a game! They play a game to entertain and get the fans excited. Hell, in hockey you raise your sticks after a goal, the whole team comes over to congratulate you and then you skate past the bench and smack the gloves of each teammate. No penalty. You can celebrate too much in the NFL, you will get 15 yards and a nice fine. Asinine!

Can we at least ban the "self argument celebration"? That's where the guy gets a first down or makes a catch and then jumps up pounds his chest and makes a mean face and says inaudible things like hes pissed off,, or disrespected,, but he's a badass and got the first down anyway.!!! that one makes me wanna puke.

Yeah because that is the same thing.

Good point. I'd also add the "feed me" motion like they're spooning something into their mouth. Drives me nuts.

I swear it really shows that some of you have never made a big play in high school football or back yard football or any competitive sport. Emotions come out when you do something big. Who ******* cares. No one used to jump down Bettis' *** when he got all fired up after a first down run. It's a game,,they're having fun.

Coates has been doing that lately.

That's something thats very popular. James Harden made that very big. He plays basketball and he does that when he gets hot

lol you have no idea. And guess what ,, I thought bus over did it on first downs and stuff too. Its a ******* first down.

If the team plays with no emotion people will complain they are flat. If they play with too much emotion that's also a problem.

Who cares? You know what the fans do when someone picks up a first down? They stand and give the first down signal and cheer. It's okay for the people in the stands to be excited but the players should just put their head down and go back to the huddle with no excitement?

Well there is a fine line of emotion and hurting the team. Do your celebration of course, but toned down enough to NOT be a team deficit. I think the NFL could change the rule to at the crossing of the goal line, you have 10 seconds. After 10, you get big fine and penalty. Maybe it would work or maybe not????? I like it at time and not so much at other times. When your beating a team by a bunch, the celebrations need to be toned way down. (KARMA thingy)

Salute the nation

worked for franco. Worked for Marvin Harrison, I could keep going ...

high fives and such ,, no biggie... but the whole "argument with myself" level of garbage ,, is just over the top.

Marvin Harrison killed a guy. [emoji106]

Agree to disagree. But it's never going to change.

you don't disagree.. It did work for those hall of famers. You just like the dancing and self promotion.. Right?

It's not that he disagrees it's just that he knows those guys are the exception not the norm..most guys get excited playing the game

I want them to win and be entertained! The celebration penalties after a TD are tolerable. It'sall in context.

Let AB and the other players celebrate. Just do one that won't draw a flag. Works for a whole bunch of players every week. Why not AB though? This is what I don't get. Everytime AB scores I am wondering if he will do a celebration that will draw a flag. I'm not waiting to see some new dance he will be doing. Again. Who cares if AB celebrates. ....just do one that won't draw a flag. Sound simple but obviously it isnt.

Stallworth and Swann used to spike the ball. I disagree with your opinion that they shouldn't celebrate. Brown needs to do it within the rules though. And if you gain two yards on a third and one I don't believe you should celebrate. That does irritate me.
