Deflategate Investigation: Complete ... Awaiting Report.

The only thing that makes me think Bellichick wasn't aware was how he immediately came right out and threw Brady under the bus. But then again he's evil and calculating enough to do that on purpose just to make himself look better.

Brady will get next to nothing or nothing at all for this because there's no smoking gun and he will deny it. He may admit to some vague knowledge of it but he'll never admit to instigating it. I'm predicting a fine around the price of one of Gisele's handbags

I think it would be nice if everyone going to the game showed up with a deflated foot ball and frisbee tossed them at the cheats when they come out of the tunnel. Just imagine all the folks tossing foot balls toward the field on national tv and the comments from that!

I said before the Super Bowl that someone should throw a deflated football onto the field after the Patriots first TD.

Remember spy gate?

I'm waiting for the NFL to announce that no real competitive advantage was gained, and they've destroyed the footballs so that no other team might try to use them to gain a competitive advantage.

Well, he refused to cooperate and turn over phone records, emails and texts related to the incident. THAT alone, proves hes keeping the truth at bay. In my opinion, thats Obstruction......the fact the team refused to allow the league to do followup interviews with employees confirms that the FRANCHISE is complicit.

They need to find out how long this deflation practice has been going on....IMO this story tarnishes EVERYTHING from the beginning of the Brady era up until he and that Belicheatin ****** exits the game.

His phone text would give the league investigators that smoking gun evidence to prove without a doubt what Brady knew and what he requested. Its in that goddamn phone..we know it....GOODELL knows it.......and the fact that the conversation frequency escalated right after the news broke in January PROVES Brady was in damage control mode..and that text log would incriminate his ***.

That ****** fanbase is in total denial...the fans are asking about countersuits and a few STILL BELIEVE the cold weather theory...but how the **** do you explain the Colts balls ? Anomalies ? The walls are caving in slowly....im ready to push those ******* ...speed up the exit of them som' a *******......

I shall sleep soundly tonight - knowing that Marsha Brady's world will soon come crashing down...just like Barry Bonds:censor:

Gronk....Class act.

I especially love the ones that keep going on about how the Colts couldn't tackle or score points. They are totally oblivious to the fact that these ******** had been doing this for probably the entire year. They still think it's just about that one game and one game only.

Bell: NFL must hammer Tom Brady, Patriots in Deflategate aftermath

Go ahead, NFL. Suspend Tom Brady.

In the wake of findings revealed in the latest Wells Report, this one stemming from the Deflategate investigation, now is not the time to suddenly go soft and underinflated with discipline — even when it would mean sitting one the league's icons.

If Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer was banned for four games for text messaging his coaching staff during a game, if Atlanta Falcons President Rich McKay was temporarily kicked off the competition committee he chairs for noise pollution at the Georgia Dome, if coach Sean Payton and GM Mickey Loomis were suspended a few years ago amid the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, then Brady needs to take a seat, too, in the name of integrity...

The NFL — with executive VP Troy Vincent swinging the hammer and Commissioner Roger Goodell needing to back him to the hilt — had better take Brady off the field temporarily for this or never utter another word about integrity, fair play or competitive balance.

Speak your message, NFL, then support it with strong action. That means sitting Brady down for at least a game or two, which would send a strong message about cheating.

And Brady shouldn't be the only one to take a hit.

Even though Patriots coach Bill Belichick, team owner Robert Kraft and the organization at large were not found to be engaged in underinflating footballs — according to the findings of investigators led by Ted Wells — it happened on their watch. That's why Payton got hammered with his one-year suspension. Ignorance, Goodell said in the Saints ruling, is not an excuse...

But imagine the stain that a Brady suspension would put on the NFL's kickoff game in September, when the Pittsburgh Steelers — minus suspended all-pro running back Le'Veon Bell — open the season at Gillette Stadium against the defending Super Bowl champions. Brady's potential absence would be so much worse — and more symbolic — than him skipping the team's recent visit to the White House. It might even prompt the Patriots to buck tradition and pick another time besides the season opener to raise their newest championship banner.

If, that is, the NFL brings down the hammer as it should.

I think Brady should be suspended for a couple games - he cheated and lied - but let's keep this **** in context guys. Is this any worse than a WR using Stickum?

in a word yes much worse

So we'll be without Bell for game 1, will the *pats be without Brady? What a f'd up game 1 that would make, way to showcase the NFL in the first game of the season....

NFL Shield: tarnished

Hopefully other stars will show case their skills...That being Ben, Brown etc on offense and a bunch on defense. Would be nice to pull out a win week 1. I don't care if Brady is playing or not. A one or two game suspension is way to light for Brady in my opinion. Also...as said above in the one article. If Payton got suspended a year bountygate shouldn't Belicheat get a year for deflate gate? Kraft maybe 6 months. These guys cheated on their way to the SB in the playoffs and got caught. There is no excuse. This is 100 times worse than bountygate in my opinion. Of course I thought spygate was really bad also and they only got a slap on the wrist for that.

I looked at the tribune site last night and they had one of those video interviews with some tool thinking one or two games was adequate. I disagree. A precedent was set many years ago in the early days of the game. The Pottsville Maroons had the championship taken from them and awarded to the second place team for violating league policy or directives. The coaching staff was held responsible for bounty gate when they had no knowledge of it by a preponderance of the evidence. Brady was involved with cheating before during the video taping scandal. It is not likely he did not know as plays and traffic on the head sets went into his helmet.

In this case there was evidence he knew about it and was instrumental in its implementation. The talking head called it bending the rules. There was no bending. There was systematic planned cheating. I am becoming more incensed regarding this the more I hear about it.

The penalty should be severe and an example made of this team that thought cheating was ok.

Coach and Owner suspended from meetings and all activities with the league for one year.
Since a suspension involves pay being taken from them all profits the patriots would earn for the year from all points get donated to NFL charities and in this case a special charity could be established for domestic abuse victims in the nfl.
The players not involved still get paid.
All games for the 2016 season are forfeit and will not be played.
All funds generated from Ticket sales will be refunded to the purchaser.
The championship trophy as well as the Lombardy will be taken from them and awarded to the team they played against in both instances.
The people involved directly will be prohibited from ever participating in the league from now on in any capacity......a life time ban
Brady will be prohibited from being inducted into the hall of fame and from doing any endorsements that mention, reference or in any way allude to his professional football career. :rip2::ban:

Something tells me you won't be seeing any of those cute Tom Brady vacation videos on Facebook for a while, such as the one of him cliff diving in Costa Rica.

It was Brady's golden-boy reputation that fell off a cliff Wednesday, pushed in the back by Ted Wells' damning report, and it's clear what NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's response should be: a stiff suspension.

This is not a court of law. The league does not need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Brady cheated or approved of cheating on his behalf. It needs only a “preponderance of the evidence,” according to its by-laws, to impose punishment. It has a preponderance of the evidence. It has “more probable than not” and that is plenty good enough when one considers the limitations it faced in conducting the investigation — like the fact it could not force Brady to turn over texts, emails and phone messages, which he refused to do.

In spite of that, and the Patriots' refusal to allow one of their key employees to be interviewed a second time, Wells' report battered Brady. Never mind that it's longer than Troy Polamalu's hair (243 pages, to be exact). The level of detail is phenomenal.

The conclusion goes like this:

“For the reasons described in this Report, and after a comprehensive investigation, we have concluded that, in connection with the AFC Championship Game, it is more probable than not that New England Patriots personnel participated in violations of the Playing Rules and were involved in a deliberate effort to circumvent the rules. In particular, we have concluded that it is more probable than not that Jim McNally (the Officials Locker Room attendant for the Patriots) and John Jastremski (an equipment assistant for the Patriots) participated in a deliberate effort to release air from Patriots game balls after the balls were examined by the referee.

“Based on the evidence, it also is our view that it is more probable than not Tom Brady (the quarterback for the Patriots) was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of McNally and Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls.”

McNally and Jastremski come off like Wayne and Garth from “Wayne's World” in their text exchanges, providing yet another layer of comic relief to the story (McNally actually refers to himself as “The Deflator,” if you can believe that). In the end, though, it's not all that funny. People compromising the integrity of a sport never is. The Patriots cheated again.

No, Brady did not commit some heinous act, as more than a few of his fellow union members have. But there is recent precedent here in regard to significant suspensions being levied on NFL executives for illicitly gaining a competitive advantage. Why should players not be held to the same standard?

Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer was suspended the first four games next season for texting team personnel on the sideline while he was in the press box. Atlanta Falcons president Rich McKay was suspended from the league's competition committee, and his team forfeited a draft pick, for using prerecorded crowd noise at home games.

It can't help Brady's case that he lied. Remember his legendary pre-Super Bowl news conference, when he said of the game balls, “I don't want anyone rubbing them, putting any air in them, taking any air out?” Well, guess what: Text messages strongly undermine that notion, most notably a series describing a conversation between Jastremski and Brady in which Brady says McNally (The Deflator) must have “a lot of stress” trying to get the footballs “done.”

So it should be an interesting Steelers-Patriots opener, eh? Call it the Suspension Bowl. You likely won't see Le'Veon Bell. You probably won't see LeGarrette (Roll Me Another) Blount. And you better not see Tom Brady.

But even if Brady is not suspended, there is nothing he can do now to repair his fallen reputation.

Ted Wells Report

Ted Wells transmitted his report to Commissioner Goodell and the New England Patriots earlier today on the footballs used in the AFC Championship Game on January 18, 2015. Mr. Wells requested that our office make it available to the public at 1 p.m. ET. It is now posted on NFLCommunications.com and NFLMedia.com. Following is a statement by Commissioner Goodell:

STATEMENT OF NFL COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL

I want to express my appreciation to Ted Wells and his colleagues for performing a thorough and independent investigation, the findings and conclusions of which are set forth in today’s comprehensive report.

As with other recent matters involving violations of competitive rules, Troy Vincent and his team will consider what steps to take in light of the report, both with respect to possible disciplinary action and to any changes in protocols that are necessary to avoid future incidents of this type. At the same time, we will continue our efforts vigorously to protect the integrity of the game and promote fair play at all times.

The report is pretty damning.

I disliked the inaccuracies of the leaks to the media, but the report is full of actual facts and text messages that present strong evidence this was not a one-time thing and the trainers/Brady conspired to deflate footballs prior to games.

My punishment:

New England Patriots fined $5 million
New England Patriots stripped of 1st round pick in 2016
Bill Belichick fined $500,000
Tom Brady suspended 2 games
Jim McNally banned from ever working in the NFL again (in any capacity)
John Jastremski banned from ever working in the NFL again

Vegas has pulled the Steelers-Pats game from the betting boards.

It appears Las Vegas is ready for some sort of NFL discipline on Tom Brady

“Basically, we closed all games involving Patriots until we get a better understanding of what’s going on”. “Minutes before we closed the Week 1 line, we took a flurry of bets on Steelers +6.5.”

The line for a Patriots-Steelers game without Brady would be a pick ’em

Wow, Wing - that IS harsh; but I love it!!!

So the thing that bothers me the most is "it is more probable than not" and
"at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities" statements == how are they different from allegedly or allegations --- some one please explain the difference to me --
