College Football Championship Week

ND should not whine. Join a conference or be quiet. I also don't think Miami should be in over the conference champ. All of the conference champs should get in, or what is the point of having them if the committee is just h going to pick whoever
Duke only got to play for the championship because of a quirky multi-team tiebreaker.

Notre Dame lost by 3 points to Miami and 1 point to Texas A&M -- they should be in the playoff. Having not one but two non-dominant G5/6 teams in this 12-team playoff is the problem here.

I still come back to they moved BYU out because of a ****** showing against A and M which put Miami against ND. But they didn't move Bama because of a ****** showing vs. Georgia. And the difference was 7 points in the *** kicking. And not only did Bama lose by 21 they were manhandled. They couldn't run and they had no blitz answer. That's **** ery. Plain and simple.

We really just have to accept that every season, there will be at least 1-2 teams that will be pissed off and feel they've been slighted. It's never gonna be a perfect method, it is what it is
My suggestion - expand to the top 24 teams. They can figure the rest out...

While, even as a Bama fan I don't think they deserve to be in it, but the problem is the conference championship game. One of the two teams in it will have another loss while other teams in the conference that didn't make the CCG (ole miss and Oklahoma) stay safe as far as seeding. I agree that the CCG loser shouldn't be penalized because of that 'glitch' in the rules. While I wouldn't want to get rid of the CCG , it certainly can create a bad look.
Also...

What if Bama beats Georgia in the SECCG??? That would give the Dawgs 2 losses by the same team. That would have definitely eliminated Georgia in my mind.

The conspiracies are running in my head because of my other post in the Burton thread - if Bama knew they'd get in regardless - did they stop showing the explosive stuff and kept it simple??? Something was off but I'd rather not speculate...

Alabama over Oklahoma - I know I said Alabama shouldn't be in, but I trust them more than Oklahoma. Mainly, I think Mateer might make too many mistakes. The OU D will be tough. This should be a good game.

Oregon over JMU - This should be a huge blowout.

Ole Miss over Tulane - Ole Miss beat them by 35 earlier this season, but with the distractions with Lane being gone, this one will be closer.

Miami over Texas A&M - Miami needs to prove they belong and I also don't trust A&M in big games.
Agreed. It's hard to beat a team twice in the same year.

Bama beat themselves in the first game. We shall see though...

I dont see what beating a team twice has to do with anything.

So here is where it all falls off the rails. The spokesman for the selection committee said that ND became head to head with Miami and Miami won the head to head. But they became head to head because BYU got boot stomped in a championship game. So in that case getting your dick knocked off in a championship game had implications. However, in the case of Alabama it did not. Case closed.
Because Bama beat Georgia at home early in the season...

Bemuda for two weeks before Bama was behind Notre Dame. Bama played the Iron Bowl and won. But it was competitive. Notre Dame Stomped a mud hole in Stanford. They placed Bama in front........why. They said Bama made a gutsy fourth down in the Iron Bowl. Which makes zero sense cause none should have been needed. Then you watched Bama get taken apart by Georgia. They said Championship games shouldn't effect teams that participate. But it really seemed like it did for BYU. They are out. I think at this point of the season ND would beat Alabama by double digits on any field. Alabama like the Chiefs have lost their shine. And I know you know it.

This only applies to SEC teams.

ACC deserves this for agreeing to be Notre Dame's side piece. ND wanted the same from the Big 10 and the B10 said no way. You're in or you're out.

Deserves what exactly? Notre Dame is whining because the ACC promoted Miami as a playoff team. I'm laughing at all the Notre Dame fans who want to end the agreement with the ACC and get the same deal with the Big 10. They assume they'll be a playoff team playing that schedule. They're delusional.

to be clear if the script was flipped with Alabama and Notre Dame I would be b itching the same as I am now. I am not a fan of either team I'm a die hard MI fan. this has to do with the bull **** bias and a group of people putting who THEY want into the playoffs.

We have a top 25 for football, expand the play offs to 25 sprinkle in some bye teams and play it down to the natty. how hard would that be. if you are in the top 25 you get a playoff spot.
Rankings are too subjective... and this way actually worked better than people think... the top four teams in the country are absolutely and without a doubt in...
the other teams all could have done better to get a spot... lose 2 or more games and honestly, you lost your right to ***** if you dont get in

ACC deserves the crappy media deal they have. If ND was a full member, it would have been much better. They should not have let ND use them.

The Big 10 should offer ND. Full member, all sports or nothing. I believe the B10 is moving toward some teams taking a bigger piece of the pie so that's yet another excuse ND no longer has. Plus NBC has a B10 deal in place now.
