College Football Championship Week

I don't understand how a sun belt champ would get in but not the ACC champ. I think any power champ should get in. If they want to put Bama in then that's fine but it shouldn't be over a conference champ. To me it is like the NFL when we had division champs finish below 500.
The 5 highest ranked conference champs get in bar none... if the SEC's champ was not unranked team abd there were five champs ranked higher than they were, they wouldnt get in either..

The ACC had one flukey team in Duke that wasnt getting in... and they won it

why can they make the playoffs fair and work for college basketball and not football. it just does not make sense. this is nothing but who the committee wants in and where they want them seeded.

The bullshit about Alabama beating Georgia eirler this year is just that BULLSHIT, they need the officials to cheat for them in that game in order for them to win. there is not a person on this planet that isn't a Bama fan or an official for that game that does not acknowledge that Georgia was straight up robbed of a TD in that game.

The CFP is a joke right now. There will always be a few teams that complain, but the field needs to be expanded. I'm all for the little guy, but Tulane and JM getting into the CFP without a perfect record and even winning the conference championship with JM over teams like Notre Dame, BYU and Texas is crazy. Non power four teams should be required to have a perfect record and win their conference championship to be considered for for CFP. Otherwise, their season conference schedule is simply too weak compared to the power four conferences to put them ahead of better teams for a feel good story.

Alabama getting in as a three loss team is was also the typical bias. I might have been willing to agree with those that felt they should not have been penalized for playing in the championship game while others sat around if they had not been blown out.

The ACC champ is ineligible so they bump up an idle Miami team? Wonder how much that cost the conference?

At least expanding the field eliminated all of the controversy.

to be clear if the script was flipped with Alabama and Notre Dame I would be b itching the same as I am now. I am not a fan of either team I'm a die hard MI fan. this has to do with the bull **** bias and a group of people putting who THEY want into the playoffs.

We have a top 25 for football, expand the play offs to 25 sprinkle in some bye teams and play it down to the natty. how hard would that be. if you are in the top 25 you get a playoff spot.

Alabama over Oklahoma - I know I said Alabama shouldn't be in, but I trust them more than Oklahoma. Mainly, I think Mateer might make too many mistakes. The OU D will be tough. This should be a good game.

Oregon over JMU - This should be a huge blowout.

Ole Miss over Tulane - Ole Miss beat them by 35 earlier this season, but with the distractions with Lane being gone, this one will be closer.

Miami over Texas A&M - Miami needs to prove they belong and I also don't trust A&M in big games.

ND should not whine. Join a conference or be quiet. I also don't think Miami should be in over the conference champ. All of the conference champs should get in, or what is the point of having them if the committee is just h going to pick whoever

Conference champs should not be automatic if it helps keep out an 8-5 Duke team just because they were the best out of a below average conference this year. Duke isn't even ranked in the top 25 and do not deserve to be in just because of a five team tiebreaker and beating an average Virginia team. There are probably 15 or more teams more deserving to be in the CFP than Duke this year with five loses.

Since ESPN rigs the playoff to favor the SEC, Notre Dame is opting out to avoid giving them a bowl with a big rating.

You can't justify 2 G5 teams in the playoff this year, especially when JMU's coach left them.
The #11 G5 team has a rematch against the #4 P4 team. Tulane lost to Ole Miss 45-10 earlier this season. I'm not sure you can justify any G5 teams in and I'd rather see the two sets of conferences have their own set of playoffs.

If they’re going to include the Tulane’s and JMUs of college football, they need to expand it to 16 teams.

That's the real purpose of this absurd playoff pool. Make people accept 16 teams.

I'm Ok with that if we get rid of this stupid committee. Guarantee 4 spots to Big 10, 4 to SEC. 2 to Big 12, 2 to ACC. 1 to G5. 3 at large. Put some parameters on those guarantees, like the team must be ranked to qualify, so a cobference may not be able to fill one of their spots each year.

Repurpose conference champ games into play in games. Have your #4 and 5 team play (or 2 and 3) to claim your conference's last spot.

No more committee. Have each conference decide who they are sending. So this year, the ACC could have said their 2 teams were Miami and the winner of Virginia vs whoever.

The 3 at large teams are the 3 highest rated teams not already in the playoff.

The other best part of 16 teams is no more bye weeks. I believe that's a disadvantage. We'll have to see this year but last year the top 4 seeds lost because they were rusty.

Your reward for being a high seed is hosting a low seed. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, etc. That should almost be a bye. It's better. Your fans get a home playoff game and your team gets a tune up with low chance of a loss.

The entire concept of the teams getting a bye having to play at a neutral site is ridiculous. They should play these games on campus at least through the semis.

I would also shitcan conference championships. It’s not like they matter that much in this playoff era.

Miami couldn't win the "bad" conference or even make the champ game and they get in. If you are not going to include the conference champs then what's the point of having the champ games

The ACC (and other conferences) have awful tiebreaking rules. Miami should've been in the conference championship game.

They design these things. They look good in paper. The problem us it's decided in the backroom and you know it's kinked. That said I'm dissapointed with ND and not attending a Bowl. And meme of the day was the letter and underneath it said......I thought Catholics don't pull out.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Notre Dame has a sweetheart deal starting next year. Guaranteed playoff spot if ranked in top 12. May as well play a full MAC schedule.
