TRUTH, who did & who did NOT............no judgement.....

LotSA great points here as watch or NOT watch. Keeping busy is a must for me as I have a lot to keep me busy and I prefer that.

Last nigh of all things I processed 5 gal bucket of my tomatoes ( will look forward to this winter consumption).

Like I've said earlier my main concern is STEELERS football and most other isn't that important to me and for many reasons.

Ratings were a 10 year low.
[h=1]NFL OPENING NIGHT RATINGS TANK, LIKELY 10-YEAR LOW[/h]https://www.outkick.com/nfl-ratings-drop-tank/

people will blame streaming but streaming has been around for years. They blamed streaming a few years ago for the Kapernick ratings slumps. Since then they do have ways to track streaming. The NBA’s ratings have tanked as well.

people are starved for sports and something to watch. Most can’t even go out at night. They are trapped at home and everything else now is basically repeats so the NFL had no competition for viewers. This was a statement that a lot of people are pissed off.

Watched a couple quarters, enough to see Edwards-Helaire showcase. Don’t think he will be able to handle the feature back role for a long periods. Small but is going to get hit. But he is explosive. Very sloppy tackling and some missed passes by WRs. I give it 2-3 weeks for everyone to be up to speed on both sides of the ball.

Turned it on late 2nd before I went to sleep and turned it off fairly quickly. My approach remains DVD and fast forward to the Steelers game and off if I hear anything but football. Next week rinse and repeat until they force me to close shop.

Girl I talk to at work is a huge Chiefs fan and was telling me she watched it. Said there was too much agenda in the beginning, middle and end.

If that becomes the norm on my days watching the Steelers games.... my end will be expedited.

I think my approach is fair, I hope it is a week thing to appease and then let off.................we'll see.

I know lots of folks have "cut the cord" but a lot more should "cut the speaker" as as well. I did, many years ago, and have not looked back.

It wasn't a political choice in the least but more for my sanity as I just can't stand the "micro-agendas" (lol) in play constantly.

Put on the Steelers (recorded, of course), put on some music and grab a beverage. Enjoy.

As I said on the Podcast, I was geeked to watch the game. It was great to see football start on time, when it's been unsure whether it would even happen for the past few months. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the KC offense clicked as well as the refs, that did a very good job, not having preseason games to get up to speed with. Hopefully that can continue and prove my Ugly Football article wrong!

I didn't watch a snap. I won't be watching any Sunday either. Simply I just don't have the interest. Monday nite I will be tuning in though.

I try to do that.I won't even read work email... delete. I watch less TV which is something as I watched little before. The more I step away the less I am irritated.

after 8:30pm on a Thursday night? Like what? Just curious.. .

Lol........the whole world lives in an eastern time zone. We are having unbelievable 27+ Celsius weather here in Vancouver. I live 2 blocks from the ocean. The water was as calm as a bathtub, not a ripple. Swimming with the dog, didn’t even think about the game till it was over. Winter will be here soon enough. Enjoy the rest of summer.

Like all on here,I am a Steeler fanatic, have been since I was 12. Also love the game of football and watch probably too much during the season. This is the first year that I have not been totally hyped about a season. Don’t get me wrong,I will still watch or listen to every Steelers game. I don’t know what it is. It’s not because of the protests. To be honest I don’t give a **** what they do for the first 5 minutes before the game. I know what I believe in,and really don’t care weather they sit, stand ,sing.....whatever. I just choose not to watch or listen.

Hopefully I will get my mojo back for the NFL. But if not.....I will survive. I think when our weather here turns dreary, rains for 2 months,I will once again put on the chilli, crack a few beverages, put on the old fireplace, and wake up a few neighbors with my foul language as I scream at the Steelers.

I tuned in right at kickoff so I didn’t see any protest. Watched 3 quarters. I read that ratings are down 12% from 2019 opener. You would think that with no pre-season, ratings would have been up all other things being equal.

The NFL blew it. This should have been a UNIFYING tribute to Covid victims and America's rebirth with football as a symbol of that.

Not a symbol of paying homage to fallen hooligans.

The black athletes once upon a time paid homage to the greats who came before and paved the way.

In NBA and NFL, the players are too blinded by SJW dogma and useful idiot syndrome to realize that they are killing the game and thereby the next generation of athletes will be the first in 75 years to have LESS of a ceiling and upward mobility with pro sports than those who came before.

They've hurt opportunities for the next LBJ or Le'Veon.

i mean, you already know that at least ONCE there's going some of this bullshit brought up during the game, so why not just save yourself the trouble and call it a day right now? what's the point of even attempting to watch until you "hear anything but football"? it's not a matter of "if", but "when", even for our beloved Steelers. and i don't know what game your co-worker was watching, unless she honestly expected there to be absolutely NO reference to the craziness of the last few months. i think they did a pretty good job of not constantly throwing it in the viewers' faces during the broadcast.

.
Who watched and who didn't. How was the actual TV part / comentators / protest... Part of the game.

I myself don't have regular TV and no ability to have watched it, couldn't get it on radio either. I didn't investigate a method of the net or try to stream. I just wasn't that interested. This morning on YouTube I watched the 11 minute high-lites and was satisfied as to play of the game.

I've been going to this sports bar (I'm treated like a king) for the last 20 or so years to watch STEELERS games. This year I'm not sure I will due to pandemic. It just doesn't seem that high a priority to me this year.

Honestly, I'm strongly considering "Game Pas" and then I can watch the shortened version of the game with out any talking head opinions.

WHAT say you STEELERNATION ??

I'm certain you can get Sunday Ticket for the price you pay for the games at the bar...

I had too many libations and passed out during the game.

Maybe that bullshit is just in the beginning of the game and I can easily fast forward or the first week to appease people. Unchartered waters I don't want to assume the worst. Which is why it is a wait and see for me. Far as my coworker she was just commenting on what she observed. I know nothing past that as I quickly changed the subject to avoid the topic. Wasn't hard to do as I called her for work related questions. I try not to throw my opinions around at work even though we lightly touch on subjects.

Never turned it on once and barely even thought about it.

I didn't tune in but only because was on the road majority of the day yesterday. Barely thought about it though as well. Didn't even watch highlights of that new RB for the Chiefs yet. And it's not like 'I'm making a stand!', they've just worn me down and like B.B. said, the thrill is gone.

I'll be ready to see Ben & boys come Monday though.

I didn't watch a single play. I haven't even looked at highlights. Won't be watching on Monday either. Like another poster said, it would be hypocritical of me to say I won't watch the NFL because of "x" then turn right around and watch the Steelers. I do however really enjoy reading the comments/debates on this board and have paid for a subscription, so I'll see that out and revisit when the subscription bill comes due.

I turned it on sometime in the third quarter to see how bad the virtue signaling was. It didn't seem bad, the only thing I really noticed was names on the back of helmets which wasn't easy to read unless the cameras focused in. But, after about three plays I turned it off. BTW I don't have cable or anything. I only have an antenna so, I don't know if I can be counted when they figure the ratings on veiwership.
