So Spike, given your continuing rampage, I really have to ask this.

Spike? You're seriously bringing up the car crash? Really?

Dude. C'mon.

I don't know why you aren't angry that James didn't catch the ball. Why aren't you calling him a ****-up and wishing he'd trip into a wood chipper? You brought up Ben being suplexed and that not being enough "clear the cobwebs" presumably because you think he's not intelligent enough to play the game. Then you suggest tongue in cheek, but not, that he had PTSD from when he was hit by a car and slammed into a windshield.

Seriously man. That's Black Jesus caliber. That's where your head is right now and he's YOUR ******* QB.

Just what is going on in your life that your going that dark right now? I'm worried about you. I'm begging you to let this **** go.

holy **** man, is Spike that deep in your head?? Give it a ******* rest already, it's not that serious.

even if they say he was touched at the one yard line, it would still be an incomplete pass because by the rule he has to maintain contact thru the ground. So there was no possible explanation for a ref to supposedly tell him that he could be down at the one. It was either a catch or an incomplete pass. It took one look at the replay to know for a fact that nobody touched him, so it was either a TD or an incomplete pass, and I don;t buy that an official told him they were considering down by contact. Makes no sense.

In fairness, their catch rule makes no sense. Hell, none of their rules seem to make any sense. Would you really be surprised that an official would say something like that?

first off...
That was NEVER a possibility. If they'd done a 10 second run-off it would have been so painfully obvious the fix was in it couldn't have been covered up. You CANNOT do a 10 second run-off unless there is an offensive penalty. And you can't blame the offense for the officials taking time to sort out whether it was a TD or a fumble at the 1 yard line. (Which they didn't call and only caught because of the scoring replay.) There CANNOT be a 10 second run-off.

Secondly...

Tom, the more I think about it, the more I think this was absolutely the best way to call this and I would bet MONEY that's what the referees wanted to do because it was mentioned. You have clear evidence that James has control and is connected to the ground at the 1. But he's a receiver Not a Runner. He IS on the ground though. He makes a move toward the goal line but fumbles. You cannot fumble forward and thus - the easiest thing in the world was to give it to the Steelers at the 1.

It's one or the other. Either completely incomplete. (Which they went with.) Or down at the 1 and a fumble into the EZ which he can't recover. and the play was called dead. I see ball on the 1 yard line has having been a real possibility. Only the head ref and New York know for sure. But if it was mentioned - somebody heard something.

There is a ten second run off on a review; a penalty is no longer necessary. The Detroit Lions were massively screwed over on it earlier this season vs the Falcons. It's called the "running clock" rule.

Officials don't know the rules... these guys are hardcore professionals in some other field that do this as a hobby... the nfl changes riles and clarifications all the time and you see these refs blow it on a weekly. Ases

That is ******* insane. If that isn't a "write-in" we're gonna **** you rule, then nothing is.

The officials ******* PENALIZE you for calling their own review?

I just ignore it. Simple enough. So we lost a game we should have won. Nothing compared to the last time we played them. I say we are the better team and the Pats know this. And yes...I want Ben running the show as much as possible. This offense goes thru him.

I agree with everything you said. My frustration with Ben was that the sequence of plays at the end lookef like something a rookie QB would have gone with.

That is inexcusable for a QB with his experience. Then he tries to CYA by blamibg the coaches. Total douche move.

Are you sure he's not a secret Pats fan Wig? You know like you accused me of being for daring to criticize Ben........wow what a hypocrite.

While Spike may be going overboard on criticizing Big Dummy, those last few plays really showed Ben to not be too bright.

Coaching has some fault too, I mean compare us at that point to the Pats D who was well prepared for the fake spike, and the Big Dummy SEEING that they are signaling and preparing for the fake STILL throws it into a crowd.

Enough said.

Elfiero, everyone on the board is quite clear on your controversial, even radical views. Although Spike has been highly emotional, I know ultimately where his loyalties lie. You... well that's harder to pin down. I'm not trying to be rude here, just stating a point that pretty much everyone likely shares.

Texan game coming up, yinz all get back to football.

I wish big dummy would've threw that ball away in Super Bowl 43 instead of throwing into a crowd to Holmes, well because that would've been the smart play

You mean the fade no one else but Holmes or a camera man could have caught?........................

Thanks for reinforcing my point.

I completely agree, BUT I just wanted to point out that it is indeed a rule, and one that has been called. It just further goes to show how ridiculously stupid the rule book is in ththe NFL, and why the refs suck. It very well was probably stated to Tomlin by an official on Sunday, regardless of how obvious the play was either going to be called(catch or incompletion).

Wasn't a fade, still fit it into a very tight spot with 2or 3 defenders there, had the NE DB not clearly interfered with Eli, there's a decent chance that ball is caught. You can't dismiss the DB pulling Eli down when that's who the ball was thrown to, but that hurts the Ben bashers case.

Yes being honest about things is radical now......this is the world we live in.

I'm not going to swing from Ben's nuts like you guys do no matter how he screws up. Every player on this team can be criticized for idiotic behavior: AB, Bryant, ANYONE.

Say something about Ben and you are "controversial, radical" so then you are not sure about me..........wow you would make quite the cult member.

It was stupid from 100 different perspectives, I've already spelled it out once.

Gotta move on to the Texans game.

Ben has said he screwed up and threw a bad pass. He said he wished he'd clocked it. I don't know what you want? You want to take a crowbar to the back of his head? What? Just shut the **** up already and let it go. Jesus. The game is over.

I want the PI flag thrown on that play when the defender has a handful of jersey.

Exactly, they threw a flag on Burns vs Gronk where it didn't look like Burns hardly touched him, but this was far more obvious of a PI and nothing

Funny all these talking heads in the media but nobody focuses in on that fact.

Eli was held, which a PI should have been called negating the INT.

There's a back judge in the rear of the end zone. How do you not see a hand fully extended with nothing but jersey? That's the only reason the defender got around Rogers.

Yes. The Steelers were screwed.

And Yes, the Steelers, including Ben, Tomlin, Haley, James, Burns, Davis, and Ju Ju all ****** up at different points and that all lead to a loss.

The Steelers had to play a perfect game in order to win and overcome the pre-scripted outcome. They didn't.

Let it go and hope the NFL has loftier plans for the Steelers later in the season.

He looks like a liar, but mainly you can see him yelling clock it with the spike motion, then he covers his ear holes so he can hear Haley, anyone watching knows they are saying something to him

Yeah they were saying dont spike it.. meaning after the game WE decided to run a play. No I after the game WE. And its done.

"pre-scripted".......explain to me how this conspiracy works wig.

I'll make it real simple for you, we won't even get into the logistics and cost-benefit analysis of such a wacky conspiracy(but I'm " controversial and radical....lol), we'll just talk about a book.

Where is the million dollar payoff book written by a part time retired referee ?

Surely if someone is risking prison time to rig football games and be compensated, they would have no problem lying and saying they weren't involved, but they were instructed to make certain calls.

Where is that book Wig?

Show me a post were you have criticized anyone but Ben. Spike has been here long enough he can have a ******* melt down if he wants, he has EARNED the right to say what he wants, And if there is a truer steeler fan on this board I would be beyond shocked.

I have been on this board since day one, and I have seen a lot of ******** come and go but you are the biggest piece of **** I have ever seen on this board and that says something. you do nothing but run your stupid ******* mouth in every goddamn thread, and 99.9% of it is to just stir ****. So here is a Christmas wish from me to you. Go **** yourself. I would be filled with glee to hear you died in a terrible fire with a mouth full of **** of those that post the same stupid **** you do.

Now in the old days this post would be perfectly fine, but we have now allowed little ***** ******* like you change that. SO I am A ok with the time off I am about to get. You and everyone like you can go **** yourself with baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire.
