Are Pouncey and DeCastro Mediocre?

I think this his best season since his rookie year.

That was a good year, so was the year he was healthy all season and Ben led the league in passing yardage.

I don't think they're being used properly....:givebeer:

2013 finished the season on IR
2014 7games started for TEN
2015 1 game started. CAR
Out of football

Your boy Velasco was clearly the correct choice...

You are correct, Dope! Velasco did play in more games than Poucney did in 2013 and 2015. I am glad that you agree that Velasco would have been the right and less expensive choice.

Yup, give a contract to a non-starter that played 8 games before being out of the league. I'm glad you aren't running our front office. The fact that you can't determine the difference between a center being helped by the guards, and an athletic center that makes the offense more versatile, makes me glad you're not a talent evaluator.

The **** talkers are quiet today about Pouncey and DD. Pouncey is pretty good when someone isn't rolling into one of his knee's or ankles.

We also have Harris who is our backup at both tackles and Hawkins who is a very promising rookie on IR as well as Hubbard who had one decent start and is working as a sixth o-lineman in short yardage. OL may not be a good place to ***** about.

One has to be very athletic to get in and out of the hot tub, especially if you are a highly paid hot tub tester.

Perhaps you should join him in the tub, because it sounds like you are suffering from butt hurt.

Looks like you have no argument then

Butt hurt knowing that someone who is out of the league out played your boy pouncey?

:heh:
It's tough to out play pouncey when you are out of the league. Enjoy watching pouncey in the playoffs this year, as well as the pro bowl. Maybe your pal Velasco can join you since he doesn't have any plans...

You do realize that Pouncey, when healthy, is regarded as one of the premier centers in the entire league.

The kid has made some odd life choices, but, all in all, he is a great teammate and EXCELLENT center, no, scratch that - FOOTBALL PLAYER.

Just because you have a personal issue with him why disregard the proven talent? Can we find someone cheaper? Sure. Can we guarantee the production will be the same? No.

I normally don't read stupid posts...I got sucked in this time...

No worries. Pittsburgh has more bridges than any city in America. We're much better at spotting trolls than any other city ;)

Besides his argument is Velasco is better than Pouncey and it was a mistake that we didn't dump Pouncey for Velasco. The last time I heard that argument was this past offseason, and it was a poor one then. Now it looks even worse when Pouncey is having an All-pro season this year.

Exactly...

So the Steelers have given up 2 sacks in 7 games.. that's incredible. We need to keep Ben upright. Also Bell has rushed for over 100 in 4 straight games. I think it's money well spent.

pouncey is not a contributing factor in making the playoffs, as his backups have done a better or just as good a job as him. there u go bringing up the pro bowl again. lol running out of arguments, dope?

no personal issue..the OP brought up the point for a reason. pouncey has been plagued wiyh injuries when it matters most/whole season. no other team who are in their right mind would have kept him. butt hurt dope is just mad because anyone off the street can replace him and do just as good or better

Changing your argument now? Anyone, not just Velasco? Love it. You can't stay on point so you call people names. Doesn't work with me though, I don't respect you enough to care what you negatively spout...

And read carefully All-Pro is different than pro-bowl. Pouncey is AP bound!

Uhhhhh ... so, you are saying that any FA offensive lineman would be better than Pouncey?

Where the Steelers rank 7th in total offense, and have given up the 2nd fewest sacks in the NFL (16 total)?

And where Pouncey calls the offensive line signals and thereby deserves significant credit for those stats?

Munchak said center is the most important OL position and Pouncey is the best center. Maybe we should argue if you are smarter than Munchak.

:heh:, you are butthurt!

At the beginning I mentioned that Pouncey sucked and that Velasco would have been a good replacement (that was just one name out of many we had that could have replaced him)
