Tomlin sucks thread 11/6/16

If the Steelers lose to the Browns this week, the Steelers will be 4-6. The sun will come up the next day, and your life really will not be much different.

I think I will be hung over bad. So, I guess your right normal day.

If we lose this week then I'm done watching Tomlin ruin our team. He should also resign even if we do win. Bringing Haley in from KC where his record was the worst untill he left is a perfect example of what he's done. Our "D" blows goats too. So we suck on both sides of the ball.

WHAT are you doing with this staement??? Trying to get attention.....showing us your life is small and narrow.......maybe CHICKEN little syndrone oh my the sky is falling..........

****, 1.) we aren't going to lose and if we do....... It's a game.
2.) you must not watch much football
3.) Fire everybody,
4.) did I say fire everybody???!!!!
5.) DUDE, take a chill, watch the game, don't give up, reorganize your priorities, smile

I'm hearing what your saying but I'm not giving up on my STEELERS,..........just Tomlin

Salute the nation

Exactly. I tell my daughter the same thing. I would rather win the money in our suicide pool than the Steelers win the Super Bowl. It is just entertainment.

I think if McCown was starting we could maybe lose, but not with Kessler...

I don't think they'll fire him under any circumstances, we had a pretty good record last year despite injuries, but like I said elsewhere I would absolutely not give him a contract extension and make him play for his next one to light a fire under his ***. I don't know when his contract expires but hell, I'd tell him tomorrow that we're not extending you.

I agree Ron, but THIS year should have been the year that was coaching for his extension. I said that before they ****** up and resigned him.

I get the frustration with the team, but Haley has excelled as the OC here.
We scored 30 points against Dallas........we scored late to take the lead with :42 left in the game.
Was Haley calling the plays for the D? It was Haley's fault that we gave up 35 points?
Haley obviously suuuuuuuuuuucked as a HC. I won't argue that. But Haley isn't even on the radar for what ails this team.

I never get fans that are happy with mediocre. Those usually are ones that are afraid of getting a worse coach, so let us keep the mediocre coach even if it means not sniffing another SB in his tenure.

Write this down and quote me on it, Steelers will not win another SB under Tomlin.

I'm not happy. I'm miserable. I believe Tomlin should be fired after the season if they don't make the playoffs with the amount of talent they have one this team.

I think Tomlin is a slightly above average coach. I'd say hes prob a top 12 coach in the NFL. I'm also a realist and know they are not going to fire him. It's just the way it is and I've accepted it.

Those two Super Bowl appearances were a long time ago. How are Tomlin's playoff results looking for the last five years?

You must be a spoiled Steeler fan, man. Six years without a SB appearance.. were you calling for Nolls head in 86? Cowher went 10 years in between SB appearances. For **** sake some teams never go to the SB.

There's no way the Rooney's ever fire Tomlin. He is black they are liberal end of story.

A loss to the Browns means kiss the playoffs goodbye.

If we lose to the lowly Browns with once again questionable coaching, I honestly believe the Rooney's will start to put some feelers out there quietly for 2017.

The old Warren Zevon song, Lawyers, Guns, and Money comes to mind. The &hit has hit the fan.

"Classic trap game." LOL.

Tomlin has had a franchise qb his entire career. How would this team have faired with Kordell Stewart, Neil O'Donnell, Bubby Blister, or Mark Malone at qb? Noll made an AFCCG with Mark Malone, made the playoffs in 82, 83, 84 and was a fumble away from another AFCCG in 89.
Cowher made the playoffs 6 straight years with 3 different qb's (Neil, tomczak, Stewart) made 4 AFCCG with Neil and Kordell at qb. He rebuilt the roster two different times.

I wanted Tomlin hired in 2008, but this team is getting worse, not better, anyone can see it, and I know people hate the "he won with Cowhers players", but that's becoming very obvious. We have use how many top picks on defense and our defense is garbage. He has not improved one area of this team since he's gotten here, not sure why that's hard to see either.

Spoiled? Nah. Just disappointed that my favorite team, with a franchise quarterback in or near his prime, has only managed to win one playoff game in five years. And that one victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat, thanks to a lack of discipline from a franchise that hasn't won a postseason game itself in over 25 years. Two of those seasons, the Steelers didn't even qualify for the playoffs. The other two were one-and-done, including a ridiculous loss (after a 12-win regular season) to the 8-8 Broncos led by Tim Tebow.

Just think about that for a second...Timothy Richard Tebow has as many playoff wins as the Steelers do in the last five years -- and he's been out of the league since 2012. But for ****'s sake, I should just be happy about one last-second playoff win versus AJ McCarron and the hapless Bengals, because Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher had some ****** seasons with also-ran quarterbacks, and some teams I couldn't care less about never go to the big game.

Right.

As others have alluded to, some folks need to lower their expectations and then life will be good. This is a .500 team who may or may not sneak into the playoffs only to be 1 and done. No stress here.

Obviously 500 is the new standard. I have zero expectations. Every year at the start of the season I think 16-0 and lowB repuS. As the season goes on I work away from that thought. Now I'm at the point of being happy we tackle someone....haha.

I think you just pointed out the reason for a lot of the Tomlin criticism from the start, regardless of his performance. Not nice to see but not really unusual or unexpected, and probably won't go away. He and McCarthy are both in avid football towns, have very similar records, started with decent teams and franchise QB's and I'd bet that until this year the fan criticism of Tomlin has been higher.

I am not supporting or saying I am a Tomlin Supporter, but losing brings negative comments. Being in the Baltimore market, when Ravens win; Harbaugh is a great coach, when they lose, he has lost his team, can't coach, out coached every week, never makes adjustments and talks down to media..... sound familiar?

Blaming race is too easy and also a cop out. You can easily look at his game plans, preparation, clock management, in-game adjustments, decision making, player development...etc to determine he is under achieving as a head coach. Race has nothing to do with it. But it is really easy to call every person that doesn't approve of him racist instead.

I've always considered McCarthy to be the "Tomlin" of the NFC, and that the Packers should've cut him loose at least 3-4 seasons ago.

Exactly right. Lol, the Noll comparison is absurd; did anyone ever expect Mark Malone to carry the torch from Terry Bradshaw, back in the 80's? Of course not.

I actually will take it a step farther. Perhaps the reason some fans want to hold onto him is because of race.

IF he didn't have these trends I would never want him gone as color is nothing to me.

Reoccurring failure, trends is why most fans want him gone. And that number that wants him gone is increasing yearly.

I don't call every person who disapproves of him a racist by any means. I just say the unrelenting disapproval by some seems unwarranted in view of his record.

But that is just it record means nothing if you aren't winning playoff games. That is what clowns fans should be happy for, not a team many thought was SB worthy.

And I think these fans that are ok with mediocrity, should remember there is a lot of fans who aren't.

Even that one bungle win is tainted as they easily could have lost that one, if it wasn't for a dumbass LBer helping the Steelers out, berthdefect.

Our team is in the business of winning SBs, hell everyone from Rooney and down to a PS player would tell you that.

When it is obvious that won't be achieved, then it is time for a change. It is really that simple.

Regarding the anguished cries from Davis, I can only assume this was because his facemask penalty had essentially lost the game regardless. The extra 15 yards put the Cowboys in easy FG range and had they not strolled in for an easy TD (which may very well have been planned frankly), they would have simply run time off the clock and kicked the winning FG anyway.

Ultimately he did lose the game. I'm not saying I blame him. But that facemask was the end of the game. Period.
