We're still paying him $8 million next year already. He could come back for free and still probably not make the team.
We are not paying him anymore and haven't since the moment we released him.
All we are doing with his post-June 1st dead money hits is allocating the money we DID pay him, while he was on the roster, onto the salary cap books.
We paid Woodley the following CASH/SALARY:
1.685 million
370k
460k
550k
18.1 million
8.9 million
9.0 million
That is total salary payment of $39.065 million over his 7 seasons here (2007-2013).
His SALARY CAP accounting is EXACTLY $39.065 million as well. It has to be. We just deferred the cap allocation in a much different way:
635k
720k
810k
900k
7.7 million
4.94 million
9.19 million
5.59 million
8.58 million
TOTAL = $39.065 million over NINE seasons (2007-2015)
