Lamaar Woodley One and Done

NFLN reporting Raiders gonna cut him loose.

Looks like it was lightning in a bottle when we had him.

he is still getting paid from the Steelers and now the Raiders? He's set!

If anyone tries to be funny and uses the template, I would hope the mods will ban your *** for 1 hour. lol

IF he's in shape AND he will play for 3 million or less a year I'd take him back for a one year deal with an option.

I know... But we have Jones and a 37 year old Harrison.

We're still paying him $8 million next year already. He could come back for free and still probably not make the team.

I think Woodley is DONE. He is overweight and injury prone..............

Like that is even going to be a possibility.

I love when he used to sack a QB and then act like he was kicking in a door. On another note I was reading the comments on PFT and saw that Matt Schaub played for Oakland last year. I honestly had no idea he was a Raider, guess that shows how much this fans interest in the new NFL has waned.

Puff, puff, pass.....

You had me until the first 4 words

I'll say this for Tombert....they may not be so good at drafting but when it comes to letting someone walk, they usually make the right decision. There are very very few ex-Steelers that I'd want back.

Ron, that's definately a LOADED remark!!!

Salute the nation

There hasn't been a lot that I would want to keep lately either..that's the issue unfortunately.

There are a few more I wish they were smart enough to let walk

Stick in fork into Woodley, he's done. Ate himself right out of the league and got fat and lazy.

Money aside, I'd take a fat Woodley over Jarvis 10 days out of 10. Even just for 8 games or until he incurs his annual hamstring pull. At his worst, he could still generate some kind of pass rush, without which our defense will continue to suck.

No. Hate that he flamed out so quick, but he never was in shape. Guys don't get the injuries he has when they are in shape.

I think Woodley is finished as an NFL player. The best thing for him would probably be to sign a minimum deal with lots of incentives...maybe that could motivate him to take care of his body. I really have no interest in bringing him back even though I have an autographed #56 in the closet.

This is where I disagree with 90% of Steeler Nation. Everyone is usually partial to guys who have played and done well here in the past regardless of how old and used up they are, but sometimes you have to look at it from a neutral point of view. There is probably about a 50% chance that Jarvis improves and becomes at least a passable NFL starter. He's played in all of 10 games or so for his entire career, so there is still some "unknown" there. He also has youth on his side. I agree that the results have been very lackluster thus far. HOWEVER, let's be real. Woodley was washed up before he ever left Pittsburgh. He has almost nothing left in the tank at this point so there is probably no better than 10% chance that he could add much to the team. Factor in that he wasn't even good enough for the Raiders to think he has any value left. Given the choice between those two, it's not even close to me. You go with Jarvis and play the odds.

yeap, I agree. This will probably be JJ's last chance to prove he belongs in the NFL so I'm expecting a high motor guy through all the season (hoping he stays healthy)

Fair enough. I do agree that we can be impatient as a fan base. I guess I see less potential in Jarvis and way more potential in Woodley than you do. LaMarr is still relatively young (30 isn't that old for being washed up), and in my opinion, the only thing standing between him and productivity is his fitness level. He established very early on in his career that he can play at a high level in this league. Jarvis has established nothing. By the end of Wood''s sophomore year, he had already collected 15 sacks. Compared to Jarvis' 3, it seems like a no-brainer to me in the other direction. I'd rather count on Woodley to get into shape than on Jarvis to learn how to play.

See.......This is where I feel you are 100% full of crap.

There were 20 posts before yours.....of those 20 posts exactly 2 of them said that they would consider bringing him back under a minimum contract.

TWO.

That is 10 %,

90% of the rest of the posts were by posters of "Steeler Nation" who held the same position that you held, but those posters did not have to place themselves on a pedestal and pontificate. Does that altitude give you nose bleeds?

Can you make a point without injecting hyperbole?

Hyperbole will lead to your undoing.
