Where's all my Tomin haters who were talking all that "5 years w/o playoff win" ****

There is no "getting lucky" when you win a playoff game. That's just loser talk from someone who is disappointed because he can't "unleash hell" on Tomlin today by starting 37 different threads which are all about the same thing.

In another thread, we were told that you can tell who was out coached by who won the game. In other threads, Tomlin was out coached in this game. It's all very confusing.

I mean, the Bengals didn't even get their third 1st down until the third quarter. Wasn't it the four the or close to it before they scored?

I thought it looked like shazier (is that who it was), was actually TRYING to strip the ball. Aren't defenders usually, in that situation. Wasn't JUST blind luck, was it?

Tomlin should buy Lewis dinner. Otherwise, he blew a 15-0 lead. Or just imagine if the Bengals had the ball last and the score was score was 18-16, and they kicked the FG to send the game into over time.

The 2 point conversion in the rain ( which to be made no sense, go up 16-0 ) would have been haunting.

Steeler fans went to bed on cloud 8, but we were as lucky as a warden in a women prison with a fist full of pardons that recently arrested 50 strippers.

The missed two point conversion would not have been haunting as it had NO bearing on the game, you forget that Cincinnati only went for two to get a 3 point lead, if we were at 16 points, they kick the XP and it would have been 17-16. You are truly clueless when it comes to football, post after post you prove it.

Andrew, I would point out that according to NFL.com, this season alone (during the regular season) Mike Vick's fumble stats show him with 10, count em, 10 fumbles. May I point out he was only in what, 3 games?

Vick doesn't or didn't know the offense but didn't turn it over either.
I'd say he's an EPIC turnover time-bomb. That guy couldn't hold on to the ball if his life depended on it.

Al, yes there is and some honest fans can admit we got lucky. I just find an attack oriented thread after we won a playoff game to be foreign.

Luck is when something very unlikely happens, in our case, it was in three's. A fumble when everyone knew Cincy should have run out the clock and just held on to the ball. Then Back to back silly personal fouls that cost the Bengals 30 yards moving Boswell into range in a rainy day.

To have these three things happen at the very end of the game is just lucky, or if you prefer very unlikely. I can not recall one Steeler win where the team was more fortunate late in the game.

No, No. there wasn't a Steeler defender within 10 yards of HIll, Hill was running and just flat out dropped the ball. which bounced 50 yards into the air. Cockrell was facing the other way with his head down, arms out and the ball fell into his arms, which he of course dropped because it startled him, but luckily it bounced right back into his arms as he lay on ground in a fetal position cause it startled him so badly!

I don't know what games you were watching but Vick has one interception and 0 lost fumbles

Mike Vick is a fumble waiting to happen. He has small hands and doesn't secure the ball well. The only way he sees the field on Sunday is if both Ben and Landry are out.

My thought was that since they both suck equally that we play both if Ben couldn't go. Give the Broncos more to prepare for..thankfully it's looking like Ben will play.

Absolutely. It makes no football sense to kick for 16 when you can run the two point and make it a THREE POSSESSION GAME. This was the only call in that situation, and I can't understand the silly logic behind opposing it. It's football math 101, people.

You guys over here mashing up Vick would do well to remember that Vick is proven winner and play maker in this league. Landry has never been anything except garbage. If it comes down to it, I'd rather Vick in a heartbeat. Winning is in him, even if he'll have to dig deep to find it. I don't think Landry will ever have "it".

Bruce Gradkowski should be in the running for team MVP.

I give Mr Tomlin some credit for it yes. But lets be honest the Bengals beat themselves more than we beat them.

vick is done (as in washed up /his play proved that)

he will be off the roster next year

and good riddance

no they had the game in hand until the cheap shots

Ah, once again.. words in my mouth. I'm not even close to the biggest Tomlin fan here but I will acknowledge the good things he does.
I also don't blame him for every loss and every short coming in a single game like a lot of people on here.
Ben played a decent game vs. Browns with a good 4th quarter of football, if you think otherwise then you clearly didn't watch the game.
Before the Ravens game Ben was playing better than any other QB in the league.
I'll reiterate for the 3rd time to you, I think he needs to get back that level of playing for us to go deep in the playoffs.. that's my whole point.

Without Ben the team is done.

Bottom line is Tomlin makes multiple ****** decisions in practically every game, and there's always the contingency who arrives to defend him at all costs. You, strangely, seem to be among the leaders of this group quite frequently, for not being "even close to the biggest Tomlin fan."

Yes, Ben had a bad game against the Ravens, and yes, I can admit that.

However:

a) I will take a 103 QB rating with three touchdowns every single Sunday of the year (especially, I might add, when it's boosted from a "good 4th quarter"). If you wouldn't take a performance like that each and every week, then you clearly don't watch much football.

and

b) I'll reiterate it a third time for you -- your refusal to acknowledge Ben's heroic performance against the #2 scoring defense in the league in adverse weather conditions as anything other than "not great" or "decent" is laughable. Truly laughable. On one hand you state that the team is done without Ben, yet you will not credit the guy for engineering the drive that put the team in position to even have a chance to advance "deep in the playoffs," after Landry Jones almost pissed the season away.

Ben doesn't need to get back to playing better than any other quarterback in the league because he's been performing just fine. If he's healthy enough, he'll shred Denver just like he did earlier in the season. Hopefully, he can somehow meet your lofty expectations.

Meh its a record... its almost Tuesday and this is really the only Tomlin thread out there.... THANK YOU BURFICT AND JONES... that stupidity may be the only good thing they have ever done for this team, but it not only gave us a win, it gave us **** to talk about

Hmmmmmm....not even one, huh?

The onus my friend would be on you to produce one game where the Steelers were more fortunate late in the game. I'm guessing you have been a fan for 20+ seasons, so I'll spot ya 320+ regular season games and plenty of playoff games.

Go Al go!

The immaculate reception is probably our most fortunate win. We went from being the browns/bengals franchises into being the first dynasty. The reversal of fortunes on one play!

You're not much at reading between the lines, Coach. I was chiding you for saying something so colossally stupid. As a long-time Steeler fan, one would think you'd be aware of the most famous play in NFL history. We were fairly fortunate to win that one, eh?

From someone who has been a fan since I was 11 in 1947 I'll give you 2. The immaculate reception which I saw and the Colts game with the Bettis fumble/Ben tackle. Onus back to you.

No, sir. Franco caught it then outran the defense. The Steelers created their own fortune here.

It's not like a late 4 quarter fumble with the lead, then two back to back personal fouls that put us in range for the winning kick. That is what I call a giving a game thanks to the Cincinattini Bengals stupidity.

That is not an example of one team handing us a game. The Bengals playoff game is.

Mike Tomlin is 3-0 in the Divisional Playoffs, FYI.

As long as he's not 1-4 in his last five playoff games I'll be happy.
