I can not recall one Steeler win where the team was more fortunate late in the game.
Hmmmmmm....not even one, huh?

Luck is when something very unlikely happens.
There is no "getting lucky" when you win a playoff game. That's just loser talk from someone who is disappointed because he can't "unleash hell" on Tomlin today by starting 37 different threads which are all about the same thing.
Tomlin should buy Lewis dinner. Otherwise, he blew a 15-0 lead. Or just imagine if the Bengals had the ball last and the score was score was 18-16, and they kicked the FG to send the game into over time.
The 2 point conversion in the rain ( which to be made no sense, go up 16-0 ) would have been haunting.
Steeler fans went to bed on cloud 8, but we were as lucky as a warden in a women prison with a fist full of pardons that recently arrested 50 strippers.
I'd say he's an EPIC turnover time-bomb. That guy couldn't hold on to the ball if his life depended on it.Vick doesn't or didn't know the offense but didn't turn it over either.
Al, yes there is and some honest fans can admit we got lucky. I just find an attack oriented thread after we won a playoff game to be foreign.
Luck is when something very unlikely happens, in our case, it was in three's. A fumble when everyone knew Cincy should have run out the clock and just held on to the ball. Then Back to back silly personal fouls that cost the Bengals 30 yards moving Boswell into range in a rainy day.
To have these three things happen at the very end of the game is just lucky, or if you prefer very unlikely. I can not recall one Steeler win where the team was more fortunate late in the game.
I thought it looked like shazier (is that who it was), was actually TRYING to strip the ball. Aren't defenders usually, in that situation. Wasn't JUST blind luck, was it?
Andrew, I would point out that according to NFL.com, this season alone (during the regular season) Mike Vick's fumble stats show him with 10, count em, 10 fumbles. May I point out he was only in what, 3 games?

Mike Vick is a fumble waiting to happen. He has small hands and doesn't secure the ball well. The only way he sees the field on Sunday is if both Ben and Landry are out.
The missed two point conversion would not have been haunting as it had NO bearing on the game, you forget that Cincinnati only went for two to get a 3 point lead, if we were at 16 points, they kick the XP and it would have been 17-16. You are truly clueless when it comes to football, post after post you prove it.

You guys over here mashing up Vick would do well to remember that Vick is proven winner and play maker in this league. Landry has never been anything except garbage. If it comes down to it, I'd rather Vick in a heartbeat. Winning is in him, even if he'll have to dig deep to find it. I don't think Landry will ever have "it".
Absolutely. It makes no football sense to kick for 16 when you can run the two point and make it a THREE POSSESSION GAME. This was the only call in that situation, and I can't understand the silly logic behind opposing it. It's football math 101, people.

I give Mr Tomlin some credit for it yes. But lets be honest the Bengals beat themselves more than we beat them.
Ah, once again.. words in my mouth. I'm not even close to the biggest Tomlin fan here but I will acknowledge the good things he does.
I also don't blame him for every loss and every short coming in a single game like a lot of people on here.
Ben played a decent game vs. Browns with a good 4th quarter of football, if you think otherwise then you clearly didn't watch the game.
Before the Ravens game Ben was playing better than any other QB in the league.
I'll reiterate for the 3rd time to you, I think he needs to get back that level of playing for us to go deep in the playoffs.. that's my whole point.
Without Ben the team is done.
Hmmmmmm....not even one, huh?
The onus my friend would be on you to produce one game where the Steelers were more fortunate late in the game. I'm guessing you have been a fan for 20+ seasons, so I'll spot ya 320+ regular season games and plenty of playoff games.
Go Al go!

You're not much at reading between the lines, Coach. I was chiding you for saying something so colossally stupid. As a long-time Steeler fan, one would think you'd be aware of the most famous play in NFL history. We were fairly fortunate to win that one, eh?
From someone who has been a fan since I was 11 in 1947 I'll give you 2. The immaculate reception which I saw and the Colts game with the Bettis fumble/Ben tackle. Onus back to you.
Mike Tomlin is 3-0 in the Divisional Playoffs, FYI.
