This is a mediocre roster, almost seemingly by design. The Steelers and fans seem to pride themselves on getting guys on the cheap and ridiculing teams that overspend. Well, this is what you get.

This survey of coaches, execs, GMs was before last season but not much has changed, Cam probably maintains his place at the bottom of the top 10 DT's in the league, Watt probably will drop a spot or two for EDGE.

Outside of that, nobody in the top 10 at their position in the game, and these two guys are nearing the end of their careers. There was a time in the not so distant past that they'd have top 10 players at half or more of these position groups. In a couple years they may have none.

It is mediocre. No other teams fans think very highly of the steelers. Rightfully so. Tomlin earned that.

A glimmer of hope with an all new coaching staff.

When was the last time we got someone on the cheap?

Talking about what we give up in the trade, Steeler fans were dunking on other teams for getting Pittman for a pittance while they overpaid for better and younger players. Same with Rodgers, Wilson, Fields, etc.

you mean like darius slay or Jalen Ramsey?

Maybe we should add another DK metcalf or aaron rodgers ?

Nah theyre building it,,,,,,,, I think.

Hard to unsee Creed Humphrey at the top of that OL list. And to think that the Steelers not only drafted Najee Harris nearly 40 spots higher in that 2021 draft, but also passed on Humphrey a second time at a position of serious need. Freiermuth has had a decent career, but he's probably just an above average tight end at best.

I guess you could say they got Rodgers on the cheap
Or he was over paid. He basically did what Wilson did for use at 10x the price.

What?

Wilson made over 40m that year steelers just took advantage of it.
I would ratherbhave had Rodgers than Wilson last year

To be fair, Fautano, Frazier & JPJ are emerging and probably not far off Top 10 on their respective lists.

And how far away would Friermuth & Highsmith be? Queen if he didn't have a 'down' year?

Not exactly defending the players- but it isn't like we are trotting out mid 90's Browns squads.

We didn't pay him $40 mill. I would have rather not had either washed up QB's. We were more than a washed up QB away from a SB.

I wanted a losing season to be in position to get a franchise QB.

Not 100% sure what you are saying.

But if you are saying Rodgers and Wilson was the same I would say no way.

Yep. Both the same. Old and mediocre. And lost in the playoffs in the end. Both struggled on the deep ball. Didn't use the middle of the field. And relied on short quick throws.

Before last season, where was the star power on the Seahawks?

is this Mario Bros ?
Yes for decades it was a goal to get close to the princess who unlike the Steelers evolved from a toad into a peach. So close were the Steelers who would pound their fist, flip things over but never bowsered their way to victory.

Now Luigi is taking over in hopes to have a better attack.

Mama mia!
