Watt- 68tkls, 48 solo, 19 sacks, 36 QBHits, 19TFL, 4FF, 8PD's, 3FR, 1INTExactly, it's a matter of perception and judgment. You’ll regularly see wide receivers with strong counting stats (targets, yards, TDs) or advanced metrics (EPA per target, yards per route run) sitting in the middle or even bottom tiers of PFF’s positional rankings. Conversely, some low volume WRs grade very highly because they run limited route trees, see favorable matchups, or happen to avoid “negatively graded” plays, which inflates their efficiency in PFF’s lens but doesn’t match their actual role in the offense. This can lead to situations where a team’s clear WR1 by snaps, routes, and defensive attention is ranked behind their WR3 or a rotational gadget player, simply because the latter had fewer opportunities to accumulate negative grades.
If you want to discuss impact of these bullshit stats like TJ being snubbed for DPOY because Garrett had a higher win rate (almost got there), as an example not only impacts performance bonuses, future contracts, and the player's resume as to whether or not they get into the HoF. Now, obviously TJ and Garrett will get in but what about other players who may not be so lucky because some asshat munching on a Ho Ho hopped up on Monster shades a player with his bias and lowers his grading in areas that cascade to other grades and shows him to be no more than a #3 or #4 level WR.
