When was the last time a QB looked bad/avg well into year 2, and still turned out to

3 Points and I'm done with this ****:
1) Probably no one really knows this guy outside of his teamates. So whatever your source is it is most likely bullshit.
2) Virtually everyone in this league is a frat boy. Now because the dude looks a bit like a Sears catalog model you are projecting him to be some 80's archetypal Revenge of the Nerds character even though you don't have a clue what he is like.
3) I don't even think after all these years Ben Roethlisberger has close to consensus like from his teammates. There have been some years where he was clearly the MVP of the team and the team went to like ****** AB, who they had to know was a lowlife.

BTW, I am not a fan of Pouncey as a person, but I'm glad he was there. And he had absolute cause to kick Garrett in the helmet. I'm sure Pouncey would've preferred it was just him and Garret in that fight, Castro just got in the way.

The worst part? All this mess distracts from the fact that CMT was out-coached by Freddie-*******-Kitchens. And please spare me the injuries bullshit, the Browns were out playing them before all the offensive injuries, and there weren't any injuries on defense at all. CMT is coasting to an 'unbeaten' 8-8 season once again.

Rudolph

Which NFL players you might ask? Channing Crowder. A radio personality here, and a person who I see from time to time as our kids are in the same activity group. He's quite smart and engaging.

He said Ruldoph reminds him of one of those frat boys on the radio. If you watch how things unfolded, Rudolph didn't like being tackled at the end of the game. There were no flag on the play. So what doe he do?

1 ) He grabs Garret's facemask first. If he didn't do there would be no suspension on either side and neither organization would have been fined 250k.

2 ) Garrett, like just about any other player who's having his face mask retaliates by gaping Rudolph's face mask, and takes it a step further by ripping Rudoplphs helmet off.

3 ) Rudolph then either put his cleats or kicks Gareet in the crotch. Watch the film and judge for yourself.

4 ) Decastro detains Garrett...and back him off 10 yards from the action. It should have ended there, BUT Rudolph charges him. I guarantee you Rudolph would not do this if Feiler and DeCastro were not there holding Garrett. This exposed Garrett, a thug who sucker-punched a Titans player this year, and was fined for a very late hit on a QB vs. the Jets, to swing Rudloph's helmet with force and strike him in the head. That's wholly unacceptable, and I hope Garrett is out a full 16 game for doing this. I hope the incident defines his career. F him.

My point is Rudolph wasn't blameless. He retlated first on a play with no flags, did something guys just do to each other, then charged Garrett once he was detained.

I think his personality isn't going to be popular with NFL players. That's my opinion.

I think the lack of prep short week played a Huge role in it. Throw in the injuries and he was bailing water with a tin cup.

Who the **** is Channing Crowder? Oh, out of the league for 8 years? Never met, played with, played against Mason Rudolph? So just like I said, nobody.

BTW, nobody gives a **** that your kid goes to school with a kid whose dad is a former mediocre NFL player.

Does TS have a likability problem with Steeler Nation regulars? When I read the replies to his comments I get the vibe they don’t like him.

Good grief. You should have named this the made up gossip cackling hens playing bridge and drinking tea club.

He said Ruldoph reminds him of one of those frat boys on the radio.

Anyone that doesn't like him that doesn't know him feels that way because he looks like a pretty boy or frat boy. Nothing more than looks.

3 ) Rudolph then either put his cleats or kicks Gareet in the crotch. Watch the film and judge for yourself.

He was being lifted off the ground by his facemask at the point this "kick" happened. Yeah, not seeing that one at all.

My point is Rudolph wasn't blameless. He retlated first on a play with no flags, did something guys just do to each other, then charged Garrett once he was detained.

Stop with this. Rudolph has ZERO BLAME for getting hit in the head with a helmet.

I honestly thought I was done. But unfortunately I cannot help myself here. He gets tackled needlessly with 8 seconds left. It is football mind you so protect yourself at all times. Then Garrett rolls himself on top of him COMPLETLEY unnecessarily. And if you watch it in context Conner wasn't too happy earlier in the game when the exact same thing happened to him. He grabbed his face mask (not unlike Rivers grabbed I believe Hilton 4 or five weeks ago totally without physical provocation). Then Garrett proceeded to attack him. He never kicked Garrett in the nuts. He was under attack and put his foot up while he was getting rag dolled. So then after getting rag dolled and having his head and neck jarred four ways and his helmet ripped from his head, he is supposed to pop up all composed and try to settle everything down. SURE.
So I suppose it could be because Mason Rudolph is an *******.
It could be because he instigated the thing which there is really no evidence of that in the viseo.
Myles Garrett lost his **** maybe for something that happened earlier or just cause he is a Roid monster with anger management issues, and you are a ****** idiot.

P.S. most of your OPINIONS usually suck. This one swallows.

... maybe Coach is trying to say in a round about way his head is too big to play in the nfl.....

Again Rudolph charged at garrett cause he was leaving with his helmet... wtf was he supposed to do, let him keep it?

Exactly. And furthermore most men who have been rag dolled by a guy probably almost twice as strong as them usually react super well to that. I really cannot believe Mason didn't try to walk up and apologize and shake his hand. He is such a frat boy Doucher.

Thursday’s game is just another validation of Mike Tomlin’s limited expertise at “coaching” the level needed to compete in the NFL. He was given the job and a HOF QB. He no longer has the gift of a QB who is capable of at a minimum keeping drives alive and winning close games. Tomlin has surrounded himself with coaches who seem to never have the team prepared for an opponent and look as though making game time adjustments isn’t their priority. A colossal waste of talent IMHO and all Tomlin needs is an 8-8 record this season (doubtful), he can continue to ride the “ never had a losing season” phony baloney rep?
Call me a hater but when I see someone like Lamar Jackson go from mediocrity last season to phenom after an off season with and OC Greg Roman? Cmon man, Tomlin is a ham and egger at best.

This is where the player adapts or fails... the issue Steelers brass has is in his assessment is that he has some bad plays but most of his better throws have been dropped, also in the post game with juju a few games ago he alluded that the wrs are still running wrong or bad routes, so its hard to nail down their assessment...

What Rudolph should get criticized for is

A when his footwork breaks down... he cannot make ben throws unless he builds up arm strength. Bad footwork has led to his inaccurate passes... when he steps into them, he is fine.
B when he misses reads on the defense, like that wretched interception to the lb over the middle... thats a staple coverage and you have to watch for a safety’s of lb there before you make that throw. This hasn’t happened a lot yet though

He does not seem to be adapting/improving, but getting worse the more he plays.

I just do not see him developing into much going forward.

The pass rush affects him too easily and he just isn't accurate enough, especially on the mid-range throws.

And I tend to believe that things like pocket presence and accuracy are things a QB naturally has or does not by the high school level.

They're typically not things that develop with experience at the NFL level.

That's a ridiculous reach to take one statement from someone not even claiming to know MR and use it to prove your bulshit narrative, but carry on and keep getting flamed I guess

Coach this might be the most ridiculous, agenda serving, bullshit post you have ever made, and that is saying something.

It feels that way. Then, there's always tomorrow, and the following day, and so on.

Nope. I Say it. It happens. Some posters become angry. Maybe I just can take off the fan goggles and not everyone can.

You act like you are criticized for being a no-nonsense truth-teller, a sage, a prophet who tries to warn us of our own foibles. You see yourself as a modern-day Cassandra, blessed with the power of prediction, but hated and ignored for warning about what is going to happen.

No. None of the above. You are hammered for being a self-serving know-it-all who ***** on a Steelers QB for being bad, where (1) he is the 2nd ******* string QB, (2) without his starting RB, (3) without his #1 WR, (4) without his #2 WR, and (5) with an offensive line being savaged.

"Is Rudolph liked by Steelers players? I say no, because some NFL player who has never been on the Steelers, has never played with Rudolph, has never talked to Rudolph, and could not pick Rudolph out of a line-up said Rudolph seemed like a frat guy. Hey, I should start a thread about this!!!"

What you posted is a steaming pile of horseshit.

You don't watch that game and decide you don't think Mason is a franchise QB. He had nothing to work with. I think he maxes out as an Andy Dalton type QB. I hope he's way better than that, but I haven't seen a special "it" factor from him.
He hasn't played as well since his concussion. I wonder if he is a little gun-shy back there despite showing his end game toughness.

I think it's just time and reps with him. More than likely he'll never be elite, but I think he could be solid with proper coaching and time. I'm little concerned he may not be getting the former from this staff as his footwork seems to get worse every week.

I’m not close to throwing the towel in on Mason,no way. This is his first year as a starter, he didn’t even have the luxury of mop up duty last year since he never was activated.
He had zero weapons at his disposal against Cleveland when JuJu and Johnson went down and running game just does not exist so of course he’s going to struggle. I’m sure his confidence is about shot at this point as well. You have a boneheaded OC and HC and you have a recipe for failure.
They never recovered from the loses of LevBell and Brown and now they have a crippled offense no matter who the QB is.

The thread says well into year 2. He was a 3rd stringer last year getting no reps and minimal practice throughout the year. This year he is now a starter but missed most of 2 games. You have to give him through this year and even into next year (if he even starts a game next year) to throw in the towel on him. Plus, this coming weeks game will be a write off as he will probably be missing his No. 1 and No. 2 WR's. He hasn't looked great but his receivers haven't looked good either. A lot of dropped balls even when he hits them in the hands. And, the play calling has been brutal this year.

I will admit I was hoping for more from him but I certainly am not writing him off yet.
