Can't compare qbs now to way back then, hell Montana threw double digits INTs in 8 of his first 9 seasons as a starter.

Different league. In a passing league now, that performance Sunday was disturbing.
I am not saying he couldn't develop but he was far from accurate in that game. I will play close attention against the Bungles. If he is still trending downward, you have to try to spark the team with a change.

The guy has had horrendous blocking ! No freaking running game as of late . Watching the past few games he has people in his face almost every play, and half the time it's his o-line being driven back into him. I never expected him to come in and light it up and actually expected what we are seeing .

That game was abysmal... but again with no run game the defenses are teeing off on the qb... duck is more mobile, but much smaller with a limited grasp of the playbook..... he isn’t going to do what people think... it’s going to be like holton in the last preseason game... yeah he looked good then, but against real game planning and better players what he absolutely needs to get better at will be magnified
I think ducks arm is worse strength wise than masons right now... its still nfl caliber though... ducks strength is the inside routes that we wont run with a young qb... i think he has serious low end to average starter potential too, i just think he is further behind than Rudolph in a lot of areas...
If Rudolph has another poor game like last game then yes, he gets a short leash going forward, but every indication is that the team expects him to be the heir apparent for now and they are going to give him much more slack than the fanbase will...
No but you can compare them to now... jared goff had worse stats than Rudolph in his first seven games... qbs get better, a lot better, with experience... having a rotating unstable group of young wrs to throw to isn’t helping either...

Does Rudolph have a likable personality with the players?
While he didn’t deserve to be stuck with his own helmet by a thug, when I listen to the former NFL players take on matter I get the vibe they don’t like him.

Coach, terrible assessment. If you watch the clip and actually watch it, you can instantly tell his brothers at arms fully defended him. That would translate to them LIKING him Immensely and no question about it.

If I could bash you with an empty football helmet it would be very tempting. WTF do you hate on this young QB doing his very best in a tough situation. A lot of people here bash you constantly. I try not to bother with it. But you are like a dog with a bone with this. I'm gonna be honest. With all of his weapons intact I've seen Ben lay a ****** egg against teams like the Raiders, Miami. Teams that were like 17 point underdogs. The kid had no running game. His top two receivers out and an offensive line that was getting pushed around. He gave it his best. All I wanted from this season was 7 wins to take the **** off of the Fitzpatrick trade. Clearly he is a very good maybe great player. They should easily get to 7. Rudolph looks like a solid backup. With development maybe even s starter. You look like a ********.

The biggest problem with Rudolph right now is that he basically peaked against the Dolphins and has since been getting progressively worse as teams have built a book on him.
I know there are issues with the blocking and receiving as well, but the Browns were anticipating where Rudolph wanted to go with the ball play after play.
Not a good sign.

This is where the player adapts or fails... the issue Steelers brass has is in his assessment is that he has some bad plays but most of his better throws have been dropped, also in the post game with juju a few games ago he alluded that the wrs are still running wrong or bad routes, so its hard to nail down their assessment...
What Rudolph should get criticized for is
A when his footwork breaks down... he cannot make ben throws unless he builds up arm strength. Bad footwork has led to his inaccurate passes... when he steps into them, he is fine.
B when he misses reads on the defense, like that wretched interception to the lb over the middle... thats a staple coverage and you have to watch for a safety’s of lb there before you make that throw. This hasn’t happened a lot yet though
I just don’t understand why someones opinion should take precedent over rooting for the team...

Pouncey was wrong to kick a pinned man in the head and has had assault allegations before.
I don’t think Rudy is a likable guy. Rivers is a di@k but he wins games and has talent. Rodgers same thing.

While I think the helmet swing was 100 percent wrong it’s not like Rudy didn’t put his foot in the browns players crotch or go after him alone.
Get real. If the browns player wasn’t being detained by DeCastro there is no way Rudolph charges after him, doing what he did.

The problem is Coach, you're looking at this in a vacuum, with complete disregard to what's happening in reality. Go back and read what the players and coaches had to say about Rudolph when Ben went down, and it became clear he was done for the season. To a man, everyone in the locker room came out in support of Rudolph, how they trusted him and were behind him 100%. Look at how Ben has reacted and supported Rudolph this entire time. Go back to the first few games, to see how his teammates responded to him after throwing TD's. The entire line embraced him.
None of this means Rudolph is a great - or even decent - QB. But to suggest he's not well-liked based on watching a clip or two from non-Steeler pundits in the media is simply begging the question. You really do set yourself up for the blow-back you receive around here. I guess you just like starting **** for the sake of starting ****. To each his own.

Have to disagree with you, if you are going to make an accusation, back it up with something that substantiates it, otherwise you're as bad as a Washington politician.
This is only year one. Mason did not take a snap in a game last year.
I am definitely not comfortable with Rudolph as our "QB of the future" by any means. I wouldn't mind them looking elsewhere in the offseason, but one thing I've noticed is the opposite of what you're claiming lol
To me it appears his teammates ****ing LOVE this kid. The way his OL celebrate when he makes a big play, you can tell they like the kid. I really don't care if former players like Ryan Clark are giving him blame for the incident. I dont think that has anything to do with him as an individual

Sounds like you're making this **** up. I had high hopes for MR, but I don't think he is playing well at all. I think he is slow to recognize coverages, holds the ball waaaay too long, especially when his line is getting beat consistently, he does nothing to help them out. And I don't think he is aware that he isn't playing well.
All of those things are a problem, but I don't think it is any reason to make up **** about fake players, who could never have even payed with this kid, not liking him as a person.
AB is a POS and not on this team anymore, and even he stepped up to defend MR.
