Matt Corral had a big test against Alabama and while he didn't do anything special, he played well. He seems to be the No. 1 prospect at this point, at worst No. 2. I do like that he's thrown around 70% completion over the past two seasons. He should be a top 10 pick.
Malik Willis is probably the most exciting QB prospect in the draft. The former Auburn recruit is playing with Liberty, so his level of competition is a concern. He has helped put the program on the map the last two years and is as much of a threat on the ground as he is through the air. Willis is completing over 70% of his passes this season and averages over 6 YPC at Liberty. I expect him to be the top QB off the board when all is said and done.
Sam Howell really doesn't intrigue me much. He's been getting a lot of hype, I just view him as a light version of Baker Mayfield. He had a great 2020 behind a very strong running game, but has taken a step back this season.
Carson Strong is the first QB with prototypical size on this list. He has enough pocket mobility and probably has the best arm strength in this draft class. Despite the pocket mobility, he's still a traditional pocket passer and is this the direction you want to go with how offenses are run in today's game?
Desmond Ridder had a big game against Notre Dame for a signature win. Very athletic and plays with a bit of a swagger. Easy guy to like, just a little concerned with his lack of accuracy at times. He has the arm talent to make NFL throws, just needs to develop more consistency.
Kenny Pickett finally made it over the hump this year. He's athletic and has always had the arm talent, but lacked accuracy and touch. He also played in some poor offensive systems and this all combined into the lack of production. He's playing like an NFL prospect this year, but more of a midround guy.
Phil Jurkovec flashed in his first year with Boston College and appeared poised to have an even bigger second year before injuring his hand in the opener.
Spencer Rattler is a guy that doesn't interest me, but I do hope another team takes him in the top 10.
