Thing I hate about these all-star races, heck most races, is that they can't run five laps at the end without a wreck and caution every other lap.

Way to go Matt!

Carl couldn't keep up, none of them could. What a power show at the end!

Hope the 500 car can do the same.

Sounds like Bowyer and a few others don't like this new qualifying format. Can't say that I blame them, but that's the rules now. Deal with it.

I think it's only that way for Daytona though. Who's running this show, Goodell?

I have to agree, that was the goofiest looking qualifying gimmick yet

but Matt was fast so all is well! - P4

Jeff Gordon won the pole for his last race there. If he wins the cup, I expect the conspiracy theorists to be out in force.

Jeffy has been in the thick of things of late. No far stretch to see him "win" the pole for a plate race. No, I don't see another championship for the 24, not while Gordon is at the wheel, last year was as close as he'll come. He could easily make the chase and anything can happen there, but his good season in 14 was almost too good to be.

Ah, I like Jeff Gordon. Basically because he is a leftover from a bygone era of good racing. The product they put out these days pales in comparison. Youngsters crashing each other out every race and people getting mad to advance a story line. Danica Patrick doesn't even run Arca 10 years ago. Yet she has a ride to crash or crash some other driver. NASCAR is mostly a joke anymore, an automobile version of WWE. I used to watch. These days, I just look at yahoo sports to see who won. They managed to make it boring and stupid with the chase and the other nonsense.

I agree to a point. I'm just sick of all of the cookie cutter 1.5 mile tracks. I still like to watch it, but not near as intensely as I used to. At least it's something else to watch besides basketball this time of year.

Yep. They ditched some unique tracks with good racing in favor of 1.5 mile tracks that have more seats. I think a change in leadership would help, maybe some fresh ideas. But as it is right now, it is a terrible product.

Saw Danica crashed again. Blamed the other guy again. She would win a lot if everyone would just stop wrecking her. Just ask her.

******* Denny ****** her twice in less than a week, you don't bump draft in the middle of the corner - I wish she would have punched him in the nose when he started rubbing her shoulders

we need some drama

Last night's wreck was on Hamlin. He was pushing her and got too aggressive with the edge of her bumper. She did save it to a point, came in 10th and earned a spot in the 500. Was quite impressive.

So who is your prediction for the 500 winner? I'm going with Joey Logano. Not a real dark horse, but not someone you automatically think to win it, either.

Couldn't agree more. I started following Nascar in 1977 and lost interest in the mid-late 1990s. Now I'll only watch a race if there's nothing better on TV.

BTW, if anyone collects Nascar memorabilia, I've got a ton of stuff I'm trying to get rid of for cheap.

I used to, but the paint schemes and teams seem to change every year and it can get pricey trying to collect. I have a lot of #20 Tony Stewart memorabilia that are in boxes.

Kurt Busch Suspended Indefinitely

NASCAR announced Friday it has suspended driver Kurt Busch—who was slated to take part in Sunday's Daytona 500—due to allegations of domestic assault

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR suspended Sprint Cup driver Kurt Busch indefinitely Friday, two days before the Daytona 500, for actions detrimental to stock car racing after a judge ruled he almost surely choked and beat a former girlfriend last fall.

Harvick to repeat as Championship winner - hopefully he can win the Big Show too!!!
