Vick meeting with Steelers

Just remember, Vick didn't just kill dogs, he tortured them to death for entertainment in various ways.

THAT is someone you want representing your Pittsburgh Steelers?

**** that!

Is it too soon or too insensitive to make a Brown's reference at this point?

Tomlin likes his "washed up" home boys...doesn't he?

First Plaxico and now this bum....

who gives a **** - wife-beater bitter crackers be dammed, we need a real back-up QB!

Here is why i dont care too much about this...

1.) I believe in redemption for dumbasses... sometimes idiots learn lessons
2.) there is an outside chance his legs and inconsistant deep ball are ennough to get us by if ben is out for a minute... lets face it.. if Ben gets hurt we are likely done anyhow... may as well take a huge risk than concede the season with a one armed QB and a chucklehead project guy as the 2 and 3...

Yep only Tomlin signed off on this. The Rooney's and Colbert said no way and Tomlin said **** that I'm bringing him in.

don't like it, rather wait to see who else gets cut. Meanwhile put Murphy in there and see what happens

No, some crimes just expose people for the monsters they are. Anyone who entertains them self by hurting or torturing people, children or animals doesn't deserve redemption.

It's not like he made a mistake in a fit of rage, this is a part of who he is.

**** Mike Vick, he sucks as a qb, and he sucks more ans a human. If he's playing, it will mark the first time in Steeler history I'll be cheering for the other team to knock that ****** out.

Joe

And we need a source for what reason, we have zero at back up, Our whomever is in charge of getting a new QB seem to not look in the future as they bring Vick in. Jones is as we thought he was after seeing the VICTORY formation in preseason, no faith in the guy. It is hard to grasp that we have an offense that will keep us in games despite what the defense turns out to be and we go after a QB that really has no future and can turn the ball over more than you want to admit. Is this all that's out there or we can be more aggressive after.

There is nothing else out there.

Schefter is wrong. Grad didn't dislocate his own finger. Piss poor snap from Hubbard dislocated Grad's finger. Should have cut his *** on the spot (only half joking).

As for Vick. A decent veteran backup wouldn't be a bad thing with Grad out. I would puke if Landry ever got called to start a game or finish one with meaningful time left in the game.

I thought a Packer player stepped on his hand ... .

Didn't see that. Looked like he was protecting the hand right after the snap.

we have zero at back up

That the fact jack

... and the reality is there's not much else out there. He is by far our best option for a real back-up QB right now. I don't care about the baggage - that's old news. He's not the face of the franchise, people need to get off twitter and find something new to be angry about.

I don't care about the baggage...I just care that he not that ******* good....probably better than landry...but he is still not someone I would trust taking snaps.....

I would rather have Jason Campbell or Tajh Boyd back.

I saw in the replay that the ball bounced off his shin, he dove to cover it and either he was stepped on or crushed in the scrum for the ball. Maybe a DLineman damaged it prying the ball loose ?

I just don't get this line of complaining at all. Who the **** would be better? Is there someone available that you would trust? No one is saying Vick is that ******* good, just the best available.

Let's say Ben is going to miss one week against an average team at Heinz Field. What's our chance of winning if Landry Jones is our starting QB, 10%? What is it with a healthy Gradkowski? I'd say 35-40% What is it with Vick? I'd say a bit less than Gradkowski but a lot closer to Bruce than Landry. At least Vick can still throw the ball 65 yards in the air to Martavis Bryant.

I'd say bring in Keenum - he's looked pretty good in preseason.

But it looks like he's going to beat out Austin Davis for the Rams' backup QB job...

With Pouncey out, Tomlin knows he needs a backup QB who can scoot. If nothing else, Vick still can do that.

Why the Steelers should sign Vick as back-up QB

July 31, 2015

Pcture this. You're in your easy-chair, your body is draped from head-to-toe in black and gold and you have nacho cheese dripping off of your chin. That's when you hear it for the first time. You think your hammer, anvil and stirrup are trying to deceive you as these sounds vibrate off of your ear drums, "Now at quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers...Michael Vick".

Discussion on the sports radio station, 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, included speculation being brought about that there may be Steeler interest in the infamous quarterback to don the black and gold as a back-up to Ben Roethlisberger.

The reason for the alarm surrounds concern over the health of Steeler backup quarterback, Bruce Gradkowski. Reports out of Pittsburgh say that Gradkowski has not thrown since the spring due to a sore shoulder. Gradkowski mentioned in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that the injury was nothing serious and he may be back throwing in practice in a couple of weeks, but that he wasn't sure. The Steelers started training camp last week with the veteran QB on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

It seems that Bruce's return is definitely up-in-the-air and adding a veteran arm would definitely be a wise decision based on the lack of depth and experience remaining behind Rothlisberger at the quarterback position. The passers competing for a spot on the roster have a combined zero regular-season snaps.

Landry Jones is hoping to enter his third season holding a clipboard in Pittsburgh. A standout at Oklahoma, the fourth-round pick in 2013 has not thrived against third and fourth-string defenses in exhibition games and may not be long for the Steel City.

This thread is worthless without a highlight vid. ;) Again, I know he's a bit older, but Landry Jones or even Gradkowski over Vick? Craaaaaaazy.

Lol that's the first thing I thought of myself. Vick has the best deep ball in the game hands down, and not only chucking it to Bryant, there's Also Coates and Brown as legitimate deep threats. I'm not sure what everyone's concerned about, Vick's proven he can win not only with his arm but with his legs and this would be by far the best offence he's been apart of in his career. If it's a back up we need then he fits the bill imo.

Quite a few local guys suggested bringing in Vick when we found out Gradowski had the shoulder injury to start camp. Bouchette suggested it in his blog and Jim Wexell has been on it as well.

I'm down with it. He's light years better than what we have.
