Tomlin Blames Everyone but Himself

If the Steelers dont beat the Bengals we are looking at 0-6

Ravens and Chargers are next up after them

It’s getting a little harder to wear my Steelers hat on Monday mornings, especially if the lose to Cincinnati . But wear it I shall.

I've always said that if I could make it through the 80's and remain a stalwart fan that I could make it through anything. I feel tested by management's stubbornness regarding a coaching change. But then I was also tested by the assinnine decision to stay with Korky for so long. And no it isnt race. Woodson, Bettis, Harrison, Lloyd, Mean Joe, Stallworth, Swann and many other
Black players are in my top tier of my very favorites. I cant imagine not liking a sports figure because of their race.

The Bungles are coming to town. We will beat them and the next time we play them we will be either 7-3 or 6-4

You people need to get a grip. The teams we have played so far are 8-1. We are basically 1 game out of the playoffs. Lots of 0-3 and 1-2 teams.

We are going to go on a run, so go outside, get some fresh air and eat an ice cream cone.

We won't **** the bed until December.

Post of the week, that was great.

I think you bumped your head, bro.

The Steelers play the Ravens, Chargers, and Rams in that time frame, and also the Colts and Browns. You're trying to tell me they're going to sweep these games, or only lose once?

Please.

Sorry Dave, but you're the dude that needs to get a grip. Let's go over some things.

1. Since Munchak left, the offensive line has been a screen door. Horrible
2. The offensive line is killing our running game
3. Without a running game, the load falls onto the shoulders of a young QB with a restricted playbook
4. the defense is severely underperforming, leaving the Steelers in a scoring deficit early in games
5. Being in a scoring deficit makes the offense one sided and more predictable.
6. again, putting the pressure on the young inexperienced QB with a restricted playbook.
7. Lastly, we have a clueless coaching staff who cannot, and seemingly will not, make adjustments to better situations.

And somehow, someway, you believe that the 0-3 Steelers, having a +175 probability of missing the playoffs according to sports bookies, is ONE game away from being in the playoff hunt? Wowwwwwwww.

Did you not see where I said this was from the Bengals board?

Here's another one...

The Stealers already have an excuse for when we beat the **** out of them Monday night, that they were hampered and would have won if Ben was not out with Rapist Elbow.

And just so we’re clear on this angle too... does race matter to you? Why do you want to keep Tomlin so bad?

Bermuda loves everyone regardless of skin tone. Period the end.

HCMT is a human, who will make mistakes. Just because he doesn't speak "ebonically", when he's in front of the camera doesn't make him a bad HC.

Yes, he's struggled w/ time management and in game adjustments; but that's why he has a staff to help him focus on the overall management of the team.

The HC cannot control players, who sit out for a season because of the business-side of sports. The HC, for what it's worth, kept AB in check until he, AB, lost it and wanted out. The HC cannot prevent members of his coaching staff from moving on to a new team. The HC cannot control the death of a revered WR coach - a week before the season starts. Oh, the HC cannot control or prevent a player from being nearly paralyzed, for life, because of a freak accident. These are facts.

I don't know, and I would wager that most of us are just fans, with opinions, of exactly how this team should be run. That's fine.

I just choose to stay positive and look for the best possible outcome of each game - hopefully we get some W's and perhaps then, yes perhaps, the incessant moaning and gnashing of teeth will stop...

But, eh, who am I fooling the complaints will continue - even IF we win a SB w/ our HC.

There are 12 NFL franchises that have not won a Super Bowl. The Bengals, Bills, Browns, Cardinals, Chargers, Falcons, Jaguars, Lions, Panthers, Texans, Titans and Vikings have not won a Super Bowl in their history.Jan 21, 2018

MNF is our SUPERBOWL!

Win or be eliminated from the AFCN

The Marvin Lewis-less CINCY squad is fired up for the win, and I see zero interest in this GAME OF THE YEAR contest around here.

Can the Bengals change their Prime Time games losing curse?

Nope, a game against the Bungholes will never be our Super Bowl. Maybe theirs. I do hope we beat them though, will be fun to wallow in their misery at losing to the weakest Steeler team in years.

Hell yeah, pump up the volume!

All the marbles are riding on this game!

I got a buddy from the Moose going to this game with his whole family in Pittsburgh, I told him this game is all on him, they can't do it alone, lol, he got lower level seats

That's what worries me. If the Bengals come out pumped and ready to play, and the Steelers are their usual flat, unadjusting selves, it could be a real problem. And it seems like this team always plays the Bengals better on the road, than at home. I swear to ******* God, the beat writers better be holding Tomlin's feet to the fire if the Bengals clown the Steelers on Monday night. No more softball bullshit.

Badcat, I could not agree more. Super Dave, love the optimism man but, it ain't gonna happen (Insert overused, but appropriate Jim Mora "playoffs" shtick here). A fish stinks from the head back. I actually think there are some talented players on the Steelers roster, I do not think there are talented coaches though. Tomlin is in over his head for sure this season, I don't believe he can coach a turn around here.

Ownership showed some concern by ONLY granting a one hear extension. MORE needs to be done. What about "bubbles" danny smith, why is he even coaching here? What about lackadaisical performances by OL and coaching staff? Hell TOMLIN is even falling behind in the cheer leading department. As for blaming others, this master of language manipulation has been doing that for years.

Tomlin should have never received a contractual guarantee for any period of time.
There’s no viable corporation or mega business entity the size of an NFL franchise that rewards mediocrity. Art Le Deuce aka “lacking the Chief’s cujones”, should have pointedly informed HCMT “bring a championship into the building and we’ll consider a conversation“.

I am not a Tomlin fan. I don't think he gets the most out of this roster. But to be fair and at least marginally accurate, the Steelers pre-1972 were one of the worst professional sports franchises in history - all under the Chief's watch. The franchise's record from 1933-1971 was 170-284-19 (.384 winning percentage), one playoff appearance in 40 seasons, zero playoff wins, and 10 seasons with 2 or fewer victories, including the 0-10 record in 1944 as the combination of Cardinals and Steelers.

I'm old enough to remember Buddy Parker teams as a kid, but if they can't get by with a W on Monday, I can foresee similar season ending results.

If that's what it takes for MT to move on with his life's work, I can accept this season, I've lived through worse, and I'll continue to follow the team.

I hear what you are saying but it was DAN ROONEY that brought the STEELERS out of the obelisks. The Cheif showed 40 years of nothingism. Once Mean Joe was drafted things changed.
