Just heard Tomlin blaming the two fumbles why we lost but never said we weren't prepared or our game plan on offense was horrible and we still have communication problems on defense AGAIN.

And Garropolo makes the statement on the winning TD "it looked like there was confusion on the defense and people were out of position". How does this keep happening on this defense and is it too damn complicated that we have players constantly confused.

Tomlin never takes accountability but points fingers. I'd like to know what happened to the backfield by committee approach they said was going to be used. No, we use Connor exclusively and give Snell 3 carries and Samuel's is non existent. Tomlin, Butler and Fitchner have the chess pieces but are totally clueless how to use them. You cannot tell me that a good HC and good assistants couldn't make this team a productive one knowing how to utilize his players. This may not be as bad as it gets here when we start playing some better teams other than SF and Seattle. They set-up Mason to fail in the first half with some ridiculous game plan that totally handcuffed him not giving him the opportunity to checkout of plays. What the **** is that? The defense continues to be confused year after year but no one is held accountable.

This entire coaching staff needs to be gone after the season.

Ownership showed some concern by ONLY granting a one hear extension. MORE needs to be done. What about "bubbles" danny smith, why is he even coaching here? What about lackadaisical performances by OL and coaching staff? Hell TOMLIN is even falling behind in the cheer leading department. As for blaming others, this master of language manipulation has been doing that for years.

Salute the nation

Why no hot seat talk

Why is Mike Tomlin not being talked about ?
Why is he not on the Hot seat in the national media ?
0-3 with 9 first rounders on D and he has constantly bombed time and time again as a coach

Why ? Because he won 1 Super Bowl 11 years ago with a Super Bowl roster that was left behind ?

Even if we won’t fire Mike why is he not being talked about ?
I think everyone knows why.

He meets all of the qualification in today's NFL, especially with the Rooney's.

Tomlin gets a pass this season no matter what. He lost his franchise QB. If anyone goes anywhere, it will be his scapegoat, Butler. But, that might be good as well. Hopefully, Rooney will have also had enough of Tomlin actually running the D and will make him let whoever he brings in actually be the D coach instead of a talking head.

Media scared to ask those questions....they think he'll get a job in 30 seconds if fired, but say why?? Hmmmm

True and I think that’s absurd. I honestly can’t think of one team who could think Mike Tomlin gives them a better chance of winning than with their current coach.

So, he said nothing about the horrible O play calling and game plan. He said nothing about getting 6 ******* points off of 4 turnovers in the first half - especially on the 1st two that started in scoring territory and we couldn't move the damn ball with the terrible play calling. Or, why Samuels wasn't used in the entire game as a runner or receiver. Or, how the D was so terribly conditioned, they could only play one half and then got steam rolled starting the 2nd half through the remainder of the game. Hmmmmm......

Losing your locker room ?
Losing games ?
Not making the playoffs ?
Worst team start in lord knows how many years?

Are those what the Rooney’s stand for ? I think ART 2 is showing to be severely over his head since his father died

We need a guy that can come in and fix everything from top to bottom and Colbert Tomlin is not that guy
It’s beyond time to move on. It’s not personal it’s just time

We need an old timer this go around to bring the team back to basics. Not some young wild card. We need a proven guy for a few years to right the ship

I would agree with you but the Defense that he’s built over the course of 5 or 6 years with 9 number 1 draft picks is flat out terrible. Cannot stop anyone at anytime.
I don’t think 9 number 1 players can be that bad. It’s 100 percent coaching.

I think Mike has to go but I agree if we ditch Butler and get Tomlin the hell away from it. Maybe they will improve things

And why do we continue to use only 2 DL instead of using that third DL Javon Hargraves??? The only time we get pressure is when he's in the game but no, dumb *** Tomlin insists on running this Tampa 2 **** thats been exploited now for years.

I know this will NEVER happen but my dream is that the entire staff is terminated after this season and an offer to William Cowher is made to be Vice President/GM of Football Operation with total autonomy. He hires the head coach and they hire the best assistants out there. He controls the draft with input from his HC and Scouts of course but its his baby, and the one thing he can do is evaluate personnel, especially defensive people. We've all had enough of the Rooney Rule Experiment and its time to move on. The Rooney's can feel good about themselves for giving the minority coach his shot and if another team wants to hire him immediately, oh well. Why should we even care.

I don’t doubt that Tomlin gets another job, IF he is fired. Someone will give him a chance because he has 1 SB win and another appearance. That doesn’t mean he will be anymore successful, just employed.

Not a terrible idea, actually.

Tibs I don't know how much more of this crap I can watch. I'm so sick of listening to Tomlin when he opens his mouth and speaks in cliches and talks about going back to the lab. You know what, they can ******* blow that lab up with him in it. I mean he doesn't even make sense when he talks for the most part. Tell us how you plan to fix things.

I think the chin feels just fine where is currently is, but it would be interesting.

First off he would get a job in two minutes. I won't argue that one bit. But in two or three years that franchise would learn something about Mike Tomlin football. How it really is. How wins are squandered. How losses to terrible teams mount. How anyone in their right mind could possibly believe that Bud Dupree is worth 9 million.

Bill gets paid a cpl million to study a little bit and then workm1 ay a week. I wish he would come back in any capacity but doubt it.

The defense has part of its problem figured out. They need the other part. If it’s a ‘communication breakdown’ you have to look at Butler. Runs up the middle as well as the huge gains right in the middle. If there’s a repeat performance this Sunday- Butler needs to be fired. Even though we all know it’s really Tomlins ‘Tampa 2’. MT ain’t going anywhere soon. Even if the season goes winless. They’ll just not renew his contract.

The only way Tomlin fixes anything is by bringing in better talent. But this time they (Colbert and Tomlin) likely mortgaged a possible top 5 pick on a guy to fix **** they can't with scheme. And he is a good player. But unfortunately he cant make the calls. He also can't play QB in two years.

Tell us how you plan to fix things.

I think it's time for a hard re-set. It seems the Tomlin/Colbert era is coming to an end. Colbert is set to retire, that's the crack in the door that will allow Tomlin and his staff to exit stage left.

So after fifty(!) years with just three head coaches, the Steelers may have to start over with the front office and coaching staff.

In the meantime, we have thirteen more games left and I intend to cheer them to victory the rest of the way. It's the only way I know how. Come hell or high water, I will be here on deck, facing gale force winds, braving the stormy seas. It's what we Steelers fans have in our blood. To stand strong during adversity, to not throw our team under the bus, to be there - as faithful & loyal as ever - when things aren't going well.

But yeah, the writing is on the wall for Coach T & Colbert and the rugrat assistants working for them. Looking forward to regime change, following the season.

Tomlin does not get a pass these players are his players game plan is his plan. Statements of not communicating is on him, after all he was personally going to be involved with the defense so even as negative we look at Butler, Tomlin is still riding rough house over him. . No leaders on this team, you have a rookie QB that stands up and takes the blame as Tomlin usual speech of how it is in the NFL today and we will be ready next week, bla, bla and a lot more bla, bla. No Tomlin gets NO pass. We all have said when Ben is gone we will see what kind of coach Tomlin is, yesterday gave us a hint as well as post game talk. At least next week two losers play one has a chance to win. Maybe Tomlin will come through or will they get booed at Heinz which as of last night had way many tickets not sold against Cincy

That is well put. I will cheer for them every week, but clearly at this point (and even with Ben in there) you are hoping for wins not expecting them. Which is the point at which you have to change coaches. With the team history, and the perceived and real job security you should be talking one of the most desirable coaching spots in all sports. Its time.

The best thing that can happen is for the team to win 3-4 games and feel the stench Tombert's decision to trade away next year's pick. Furthermore, the boo birds and empty seats at Heinz will get Rooney's attention.

These are the things that must happen in order to break down the Tomlin cult and erode the Social Engineering Capital that has kept him Peter Principled in for years.

The organization needs to feel some shock and awe at just how much Tomlin has run this franchise in the ground through the years masked by top talent.

People used to bristle at the Barry Switzer comparisons, but Switzer actually got much more out of Triplets 1.0 (and with more locker room chaos) than Shades did out of Triplets 2.0.
