The senior bowl measurements, practices and game thread.

Burns was the back up next highest ranked CB by MT and Colbert Lake said right after rnd 1 that the target was William Jackson, Howard would of been a good pick, I wanna see Coty Cam and Burns duke out out for PT, and someone like Dennard signed to start opposite of Haden.
Bud and Smith both had similar traits bud was just the more flashy player, injuries have slowed him but he has also been very inconsistent.

Just stay away from the projects. As Bud and Burns were just that semi-raw.

Juju Watt and Conner were productive football players. Let us try to keep with that formula...

Belichick will draft Andy Isabella and he’ll be the next Welker, Edelman, Hogan etc. Write it down.

So there's a guy from Texas playing for the North, and guy from Washington State playing for the South.

Makes sense.

So no highlights or analysis of players after the game?

I was hoping Sweat would have been more productive (1 tackle), but he did have some good practices during the week.

CB Boyd for being a supposed shut down corner had some penalties and I hear he has some off the field question marks. I will pass in1.

Boyd had a rough week. Stock down for him. The DB's were a poor lot overall. We'll see how they run.

I think Ya-sin had some decent moments. Not talking first round mind you, but he could be a solid project. He has good make up speed.

I will look forward to seeing his combine stats.

I thought Sweat repped himself well in the game with his use of arms and separation. He never looked out of the play to me. Definitely a kid to watch at his pro day and Combine. Another I'd not heard of but was outstanding was Khalen Saunders https://goleathernecks.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=17009, but we have more pressing areas CB and LB.

I would love to see some game tape from him, At least 3 games. I will check out what youtube has of him later. I want to zoom in on his run D.

Terrill Hanks, LB, New Mexico State: His speed has jumped out in both of his practices this week. I see some similarities to Colts All-Pro rookie Darius Leonard in terms of production and body type. Leonard's rise began at the Senior Bowl last year, and Hanks is picking up where Leonard left off here in Mobile. --

Yes he had some moments. He grabs a bit too much for my liking, based on the senior bowl practices only. He's more of a round two type of talent. I agree, combine stats mean a lot for DB's.

This man can hit and run! However, they say he was slow to pick things up. I am very intrigued by this player. Would love him in round two if the Steelers don't go ILB in round one. My guess we'd have to pick him in round one. I doubt he'll last long in round two.

Right now, on NFLDS he projects to 4th round, but the hype will build, a la Leonard.

And Slash these three are good character guys too. I like that direction. Not that Bud and Burns are not good character guys, they just can't play.

I thought that Burns showed, in his first season, that he had something. No idea wtf happened last year.

Since I have a good memory and reading comprehension, I do remember Coolie stating that if Oliver played at a large school like Alabama, he would have been a 3 tech or DE. This isn't revisionist fake news...

Coolie, I know Oliver has the speed and hands, do you think he could make the transition to OLB in a 3-4 D?

a guy I think knows a lot about talent thinks he could move to ILB

I believe Ed Oliver should garner some consideration at inside backer. @TedyBruschi was an absolute dog as a pass rusher and he was undersized. The Pats thought outside the box and hit a HR. Ed is smaller than he's listed. But he's twitchy and instinctive. I think ILB is possible

Ed can probably play at 260. To have him as an inside LB in 3-4 with the ability to sub-rush either inside or off the edge is not crazy. There are two other NFL teams who are writing him as a LB. One as an ILB and one as an OLB. I know this for a fact.

obviously NFL people read our site

Haha, good one Coolie. Yes, I did say he has top skills to play inside linebacker long ago. I wonder who laughed at the idea back then?

Lance Z is a Houston guy, I think. Like I said before scouts will view Ed Oliver's size and just so-so pass rush in college vs. weaker competition as a negative. While Oliver made his share of plays and shed blocks well in college, he won't be as productive in the NFL. The difference between the competition Oliver played in college vs. the NFL players is significant.

Arron Donald, he is not. For openers, Donald had many sacks in college ( 11 sacks in two separate seasons vs. Oliver's 5.5 season high ) and destroyed people at the senior bowl. Donald is also super strong, bench pressing 225 lbs 35 times. Donald did not go in the top ten of his draft, and IMO he was a better prospect coming out.

Many media draft experts are parrot types. They hear or read things from others, and react. Oliver is on the slide, and I suspect once he measures up in the combines will be pushed further down in their mock drafts. I never cared if Mel Kiper had Oliver #1 overall months ago.

Ed's best shot for the top 10 is Buffalo as their top guy just retired, but I think they go for the offense to help their young QB out a bit.

Olivers Senior Bowl stats! 0 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 QB hits, 0 PD, 0 Int

Zip, nada, he did diddly squat in the Senior Bowl.

Whaddya gotta say to that Cooliotard?!!! DEM'S FACTS!

Ya don’t say! Next you’ll be telling me he made zero tackles in his bowl game this season.

The good news? I don’t think there is any rules about inactive players wearing jackets on the side line? Or is there? The nfl clothes and shoes police can be b^t@hes!
