The Rooney's were determined to hire...

Ya'll are out of your tree. Losing brings irrational thinking and hysterics.

Bullshit! We're tired of the same old bullshit year after year with this moron leading the team. He is INCAPABLE of coming through in big games. Why are you satisfied with this?

Name the other teams that can boast what Tomlin and the Steelers have done in his time here? It will be a very short list. Very short.

New England, New Orleans, Denver, Seattle, Baltimore, Colts, Giants, Packers. Hell, those are just the teams that have won the Super Bowl. Jacksonville punched us in the mouth twice at home this season. Not really that short of a list. And I'm sorry, when did we become the Chiefs, where having a good regular season and ******** the bed in the playoffs is good enough?

Who are the other teams that have been as successful under one coach as long as Tomlin has been here? Here I will get you started:

1. Belicheat*****...Patriots

Who has won the same number of SB as Mike Tomlin,

1. Gary Kubiak
2. Pete Carroll
3. John Harbaugh
4. Mike McCarthy
5. Sean Payton
6. Tony Dungy
7. Bill Cowher
8. Jon Gruden
9. Brian Billick
10. Dick Vermeil
11. Mike Holmgren
12. Barry Switzer
13. Mike DItka
14. John Madden
15. Don McCafferty
16. Hank Stran
17. Weeb Ewbank

You want to brag about a W/L record while you continually lose in the playoffs even though you have one of the most talented teams year in and year out? Tomlin just got beat by a team with the 29th rated QB in the NFL in Blake Bortles. Yes, what great ******* success we have had in the past 9 years.

Damn dude...those years are long gone and the game has changed so much. Why not just go back to the 70's while you're at it?

The point is, the defense is not tough anymore. Even you can get that point. Think hard.

Ummm. How about currently? How many years has Tomlin been doing this? !0 years? 11 years?

Denver....Nope
Baltimore...LOL...Really?They are huge under achievers.
Seattle...Nope
Colts....LOL What has Luck ever done?
Giants....They are in sad shape
Packers...Probably the most inconsistant most hyped team out there.
NO....what have they done that is better than Tomlin?

I stopped Belicheat and the Pats. Your list show a bunch of teams that have some big up years and some big downs years. A few are off the map right now. Actually your list is pretty bad. Sorry dude.

Pretty much every team he listed has had equal or more success in the last 10 years than what the Steelers and Tomlin have had. You don't need one coach for 12+ years to win a SB. This isn't Westinghouse, you don't get an award or participation Lombardi Trophy for coaching someplace for 30 years. If we have 3 coaches in 15 years and Win 3 SB or one coach and win 1, what would you prefer.

LOL....My question was name a HC and team tha has done it as well as Tomlin has since he has been here.. SMH.Short list. And look. I am not a Tomlin fan. I just have the understanding that he isn't going anywhere. And blowing up a team when you are in a win now spot usually doesn't work that well.

Cowher was replaced when we were in a win now spot and Tomlin won a SB in his second season, why is it so hard to believe that Tomlin could be replaced tomorrow and a new HC take us to a SB next season?

Second, I would say that any team that has 1 SB win in the last 11 years has done it as well as Tomlin has. That really is all that matters.

There are at least 8 coaches on that list that have won ONE SB (same as Tomlin) and did it with far less talent than what Tomlin has had to work with...that is the point. For all of this great success that you attribute to Tomlin we have 1 SB to show for it.

So you want another Tomlin type coach? I want a coach that has the power to bring in his guys. Has Tomlin ever really done that? So if you are fine with the status quo then why get rid of Tomlin? Just to bring in another guy like him?

Ummm. current active coaches? Nope.

Where in what I wrote did I say I want another Tomlin type? Was Tomlin the same as Cowher?

So now the excuse is that Tomlin doesn't have the power to bring in his own coaches? So what exactly again does Tomlin actually do except attend press conferences and spout off cliches?

LOL, need to keep changing the terms to help Tomlin out? OK, 4 other coaches on that list that are currently active all have done equal to what Tomlin has done. One Super Bowl win, that's it.

Buddy I'm not a tomlin fan...I just know he is an above average coach. I don't care what his duties are. Argue that with someone else. He came into the league and Arians was promoted from within. Dick was held onto also. With a team that was ready to win NOW it was smart. Then Arians was forced into"retirement"...Haley is a life long friend with the rooneys. his dad worked for them. Dick was let go because Butler wanted to be a DC NOW. Butler was here before Tomlin. He was promise the job after Dick. So tell me who Tomlin has hired to run his offense and defense? I will help you out....NO ONE!!!!!

Keep changing the terms? Really? Read my original post. anyways.....Four? If your end results are just the SB....OK I will go with that. Wow. that is a lot. You got me FOUR. Now Tomlin did get us to a second SB that we almost won. How many on that list were to 2 SB's while winning one or two of them?

Me and Drew had some good Tomlin debates. But he kinda grew on me. And the Steelers had a good year. But Tomlin was one of the culprits to the playoff exit. Thing is the bigger culprit was questionable play calling on both sides of the ball. And atrocious D play. The D needs to be tweaked. And the coordinators need to be replaced. A fresh start. Bring in a Ilber. A FS too. Then BPA the draft with locking Bell up. For now that is what I hope for.

Tomlin gives a super bowl winning press conference. It's a shame his leadership and game management doesn't match his hyperbole or "obviously's"

He doesn't have control of this team. If he did you wouldn't hear Bell running his mouth. You wouldn't hear Mitchell running his mouth. And you damn sure wouldn't make the same mistakes over and over.

This team has won despite Tomlin, not because of Tomlin. The fact that he's kept Haley around this long when everyone other damn team in the NFL knows what plays he's gonna call is reason enough to find a new coach.

This team has tuned Tomlin out.....obviously

LOL, 4 ACTIVE coaches, if you want to add Kubiak and Coughlin to the list (since they are recently retired) that is 6. there are 30 other NFL coaches that have won at LEAST 1 SB. Hell, there are 6 coaches, including John Fox that have won a SB with 2 different teams. 50 years from now, nobody will remember what coaches had winning seasons, but everyone will remember Belichick, Noll, Walsh, Gibbs, Lombardi, Landry, Shula..etc

When Villanueva comes out and says the players are all good but there needs to be a lot of changes, you KNOW you have issues with the coaching staff.

I was talking of active coaches that have been around during Tomlin's tenure here. Not about all time. What ever dude. Tomlin isn't going anywhere for a long time. you might as well get us to the fact. I have after they gave him his last extensions.

I don't care if other coaches have also won one Super Bowl as much as were they also competitive in the years they did not. I am not a ******* greedy fan who has to have a super bowl every year or *****. Despite all the whining about Tomlin we still have the most wins of any team and we seem to be in the hunt every year. Really how much ******* more can we ask for. Winning the Super Bowl every year cheapens the accomplishment what other team has had the same success over 5 decades none! the closest is the ******* Cheats in the last couple and they don't count. We have achieved this for better or worse through patience and consistency. There are thirty one other teams that have fewer SB wins then us stop the crying until we truly suck.

Tomlin has totally ****** this entire team up. I’m sorry and I’m sick of people making excuses for this fraud.
He was handed a team loaded with talent with two pretty good coordinators when he got here. A young QB just coming into his prime, a future HOF and playmaker on defense in Troy still playing at a high level.
He’s been continuously given excellent talent but can’t seem to get this team where it needs to go.
He’s lost control of this team and it’s evident with idiots like Mitchell yelling outside the Jags locker room before the game. You know he had this team looking ahead to the Pats. The arrogant *** himself was even looking ahead so what would you expect.
They will never get to another super bowl with this guy.

Cliff Notes:

We should never expect Tomlin to get us another SB victory despite what level of talent he has to work with. We should be thankful we finish with a winning record even though on paper we should be close if not equal to the Patriots year in and year out.

Keep celebrating all of those awesome winning seasons while we have wasted the talents of a HOF QB. Your own coach said earlier this year that we were the most talented team and anything short of a SB win would be a disappointment, should he be happy with his 13 wins instead?

I want a Super Bowl season every year I never expect one and realize there are 29 other teams with a chance to win it every year. Bengals and Browns the exception. I love that we have been a competitive team year in year out. As I have mentioned living in Cincinnati gives me a much different perspective on what we have in this team and yes even with Tomlin. I am not blind to his faults but also not blind to what we have and what we could be both good and bad.
