Shame. The players don't even realize they are slitting their own throats. Keep your eye on the profits, attendance and TV ratings. The bottom is about to fall out, which will affect them very adversely. If it's worth it to them, then I guess more power to them. I think more likely they just don't realize it yet. After they start losing money because the league goes into free fall, they will be standing at attention for the anthem like they are new recruits in the Armed Forces. Watch and see. Money talks and bullshit walks.

Looks like the Steelers are joining the protest...by not taking the field for the anthem. Today we'll see how widespread the blow back is to the raging idiot currently occupying the WH.

terrell suggs takes a knee to protest police brutality.
something he should know about, brutality.
Candace Williams has a first hand account.

That is just as disrespectful.

i disagree. the NFL mandated that players come to the field to show patriotism for garnering advertising dollars.

Or he is not getting involved in the **** at all and not giving the players a chance to disrespect our flag.

I just hope years from now all you Trump supporters will remember how vociferously you stood by this guy. When it's all said and done, this will go down as one of the most embarrassing periods of US history. Hopefully soon it will come to an end.

It's telling Trump he can shove his divisive comments right up his fat pink ***.

I know, right. ******* Trump is so divisive, particularly where he has received such respect from the entire mainstream media, Democrats, opposing political views, etc.

Right? He should be a good little Republican and take the non-stop verbal attacks, lies, distortions, and accusations with a grin and say, "Thank you sir, may I have another?"

Trump is an ******* on twitter. But the leftist ******* getting their ****s in twist about it for some ******* reason refuse to realize that the same dirty **** has been dumped on Republicans since Reagan. Jesus ******* Christ, Reagan was killing old people, starving children, blah-*******-blah. So when a Republican responds and calls bullshit, how about those who engage non-stop insult of political opponents stop pretending some big bad meany jammed an ice cube up his ***.

You need to watch Tomlin's interview. Bassically said we are football players here to play football not politicians playing politics. Not the time or place for it.

And nothing will ever be as embarrassing as the previous 8 years under Obama.

That's exactly the problem. Everyone using the national anthem for their agenda. Just find another time to do it. Patriotism should trump personal agenda for 90 seconds. What a ******* selfish and ungrateful society we live in.

You can have your agenda Tibs, but shame on you and anyone else who feels it appropriate to display during the national anthem. Now go burn an American flag.

Trump works for us, the people, not the other way around.

Shame on you and anyone else who supports this traitor who sold the country to foreign interests. Now go burn an American flag.

Good point. I should reserve judgement until we hear the reasoning behind it and what alternative they may have.

While we are at it, someone please explain to me how these protests will change any of the issues that these players are trying to address. What are they doing that will really make a difference?

That's what is sad. It wont change a thing. All flash no substance.

Just stop. Tim, I agree with 99% of what you post. But you are wrong on this. Even without his language on this issue, he has no right to tell, encourage, suggest, whatever--that people boycott any kind of business, billion dollar or otherwise. He should be encouraging discourse on this very sensitive subject, not trying to stifle it. He should be figuring out ways to get the right people at the table to figure these problems out. Instead, he may as well have called the protesters ni**ers. I mean blacks are the ones protesting, mostly. Calling them sons of ******* isn't any better. You can spin it any way you want, but the guy is out of line, and flat out wrong.

We can agree to disagree. He's out line. He's not wrong. I'm all for the boycott and the rights of all Americans on this issue.

What concerns me is that we are allowing 13% of our society, (a percentage dominated by athletes and professional protesters), to dictate national agenda. Kinda makes one want to file for reparations for all the financial and societal advantages they got and failed to take advantage of over the last 60 some years...jus sayin'
