The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

Looks like the Steelers are joining the protest...by not taking the field for the anthem. Today we'll see how widespread the blow back is to the raging idiot currently occupying the WH.

Mike Tomlin confirms Steelers will not be participating in the national anthem before game

No, you ******* pot stirrer. He's keeping the Steelers out of the discussion by not allowing any Steeler to kneel or stand and keeping politics separated from sport.

It's a beautiful move.

And remember, I think James Harrison is still on record as being willing to beat any Steelers' player's *** that even thinks about kneeling.

Keep on bringing your fake news Tibs.

We can agree to disagree. He's out line. He's not wrong. I'm all for the boycott and the rights of all Americans on this issue.

I got you. This Twitter **** gets old. Just work on healthcare, jobs, taxes and immigration. You know, the **** we hired him to do.

Actually, James never said that. He clarified in an interview with bleacher report. He says it is up to the individual.

The NFL (not surprisingly) handled this wrong from the start. At the very first sign of protest, they should have made a rule saying you HAVE to stand or you get fined $10,000. Just like a uniform violation. Should have sent out the memo the week after Kaepernick did it. But they didn't. They thought, okay we'll just let them choose and look the other way. But that hasn't worked. Now they've hitched their wagon to allow protests on company time and it might be hard to get the cat back into the bag. Even if you disallow it, the players might find another way to be controversial or disruptive or push the buttons of middle america.

Bingo.

If you write something on your shoes, you get fined. Uniform violation, you get fined. Kneel for the anthem, nothing.

Americans see this. And it pisses them off. Rich, entitled, coddled athletes on one hand being fined stupid money for the slightest uniform violation that may disrespect the team or the NFL's codes and guidelines, but on the other hand they are allowed to disrespect the flag of this great country. It pisses off Joe American. It's a double standard Middle America won't rationalize or accept. And ratings are going to continue to plummet.

I'll watch the Steelers today and no other game.

That's too bad it's not true As a veteran, I'm sure the thought of Silver Back policing this issue on the team must have been appealing.

While we are at it, someone please explain to me how these protests will change any of the issues that these players are trying to address. What are they doing that will really make a difference?

Tibs...waiting?

Trump is the "Great Agitator".

That's what he does and is. Many voted for it. Some say it's him being a bully, but I think that is a bit short-sighted. I think he is smarter than many give him credit for. He sees the way the wind blows in middle America better than almost every politician I've ever seen.

Look, I've been on this board for a long time and before this the old Steelers.com message board at the official web site. The dissatisfaction with the NFL (both the players and owners) is the highest I've ever seen it. We ALL know this, right - left - center, doesn't matter. We are all somewhat frustrated with the NFL.

The main stream media is still 5 years behind. They think the NFL is infallible. "Look at the ratings" they say. "The NFL is a juggernaut" they say.

But whether or not the ISSUE he chose to agitate about is correct, he is on the RIGHT SIDE. People in this country are angry about the NFL on a million little things, but he galvanizes that dissatisfaction in an over-simplistic message on a over-simplistic issue.

He did the same thing with immigration. He does the same thing with Europe. He does the same thing with all his issues. He strikes while the iron is hot and he doesn't care if his mark is 100% true.

The thing about this (like many of his issues) is he is seeing 10-15 moves ahead of everyone. What just HAPPENS to be happening in 2020 when it's re-election year? Oh yeah, another round of labor discussion in the NFL. How convenient. What if there is an NFL strike in fall of 2020? Who is positioning themselves to take advantage of that greed politically? Trump is.

Many of you treat him the fool. To me he's a ******* genius. An arrogant prick sometimes? Yes. Uncouth? Absolutely. Picks at issues that aren't that important? Yep. But you guys really aren't seeing how this plays out.... There is no way the NFL wins on this. None. Trump already has won. And when the NFL owners and players start bickering over millions (billions) of dollars, takes away the the one fun thing to do on fall Sunday afternoons come election year, what is Joe Smith of Heartland, American going to be thinking about in 2020?

I'll tell you what they will be thinking. Trump is right. These are spoiled, entitled brats that don't have a clue what average America does day-to-day. And Trump does (by just being on the opposite side of them even if that is wrong).

" 'We’re not going to be dictated to by a racist, fascist white supremacist’: Ex-NFLer Chris Kluwe blisters Trump"

An observation and a question:

(1) Trump is of course none of those. He was ELECTED to office. Time and again, those on this forum have asked for evidence of his racism, and the best the left can come up with is, "His dad's company was cited by the Justice Dept. as to housing discrimination." Nothing else. He is not a fascist, and any claim to the contrary is just stupid. He is not a white supremacist and any claim to the contrary is asinine. How many times have the left and the media excoriated Trump for being too brash, and confrontational, and crude, and caustic? Yeah, and how many times have those same said, "Maybe we should look at our own comments"? Basically, the allegations against Trump - angry, rude, hateful, vindictive - perfectly describe his critics. Grow up, both of you.

(2) Chris who?

Yeah, never heard of Chris Kluwe.

In a nut shell...

I don’t care what anybody says: The one thing this is not going to do is make the NFL more popular. It is not going to make the NFL more ingrained in our society. You just cannot have a business as large as the National Football League — which is as dependent on public dollars as it is. You simply cannot have a business that allows itself to be used to promote “social justice” when that promotion of social justice requires displays of anti-Americanism, however you want to define it.

There is no way that business is going to grow and prosper. No matter how correct the protest might be, no matter how justified it might be, that is not the place for it. It is not why people spend money watching it, patronizing it, purchasing anything to do with it. And that makes me sad. I don’t want the NFL to go away. I don’t want the NFL to become less than what it was. But it already is. You can’t watch the NFL anymore and just watch football.

Meanwhile this whole thing started with this idiot.

Now let's talk oppression.

It's all bullshit, we know that. Now let's get to the real problem

Yep...They are scared to death of Trump. He's erasing all the socialist, Marxist edicts from Obama's fiasco and they don't like it.

Trump-UN-600-LI.jpg

The funny thing is that Kaepernick is a lot like Trump, he wasn't playing so he came up with a way to put the attention back on himself.
That's what Trump does with all these tweets. Both can't stand not having the attention on themselves. Problem is everyone is playing
their game and giving it to them, when they should really be ignored.

Also remember, Kaepernick didn't vote.

That alone removes him from all ability to debate political issues. You don't take advantage of your ability to vote, your opinion doesn't mean anything to me.

Even non-sports reporters on Fox were saying that Goodell is very inconsistent on his rules enforcement. Gee, ya think?

Didn't Moore beat the guy Trump was supporting? Moore is Bannon's guy, right? Not sure how that is winning.

It is since he fits the MAGA mindset. Trump was only staying true to a close friend and publicly admitted it was a 'mistake' to back Strange.

The other thing no one is talking about is that other office holders (like Trump is now) almost always endorse the incumbent in their party and Strange is essentially the incumbent.

I'm not a big fan of Moore and his religious right platform but I agree that voting out the incumbents is the way to go. Strange had 6 months with this congress and they haven't done ****....

There has to be some ramifications for that. And I think it will happen in the primaries more than switching from (R) to (D) if you look at the demographics of where the races are happening.

Exactly, although I look at it as mostly McConnell's fault. Realistically Strange wasn't there long enough to make a difference. McConnell is establishment. Collins and Murkowski are essentially Liberals and big government Republicans. McCain is pissed at Trump and won't vote for anything Trump wants no matter if he campaigned on it before or how good the idea is. If Trump wants something McCain will say "**** all y'all" and vote against it for the rest of his life, which shouldn't be a lot longer and then we can get on with business.

Trump made a deal with the devil(McConnell) future support for endorsing Strange. Probably due in part to his Whitehouse staff/family, which I have a problem with. The voters corrected his lapse of judgement. Hopefully it won't happen again. McConnell just got his political death sentence.
