Might just be the best person for the job.The best Black man for the job
Might just be the best person for the job.The best Black man for the job
We already had Vrabel......and let him go.Who is the Patriots DC? They looked pretty darn good. If we can't get Vrabel, we can steal an assistant or two. lol
You know what the last 5 SB head coaches background specialty was?I personally want an offensive minded HC in the NFL of today....if we go a defensive minded HC. I just hope he keeps his fingers out of the offensive. Hire your guy and move on.
Besides the man who cheated a lot the last ten?You know what the last 5 SB head coaches background specialty was?
If you are guessing offense you would be correct.
It has been reported that the ravens have interviewed him alsoisn’t it kind of telling that no other teams are interviewing Flores for a HC job? Oh yeah, Steelers are just smarter than every other team lol.. they like to think so anyhow.
So based on that you are sure he can produce playoff wins? SBs?Flores is well-rounded. He's been a head coach for three seasons. He's been a defensive coordinator for three seasons, including the #3 overall D in 2025. He coached special teams, safeties, and linebackers while in New England.
As long as he hires a competent young OC, I've got no problem with BF as the Steelers' next head coach.
Are you sure that he can't?So based on that you are sure he can produce playoff wins? SBs?
Miami was #29 in total defense in 2018, #15 by his third year. Minnesota was #31 in total defense in 2022, #3 by his third year. So, yes, I'm confident he can improve the team on the defensive side of the ball, and as I mentioned, a good OC hire would also be prerequisite...not really sure why some people are putting Flores in their first tier.
On his whole body of work it … I just don’t see it.

Ten years all but cheat was on the O side of expertise this is a passing league. The man has not won one playoff game, not even lucking into one.Are you sure that he can't?

On a team that cans coaches quickly sure, not on this team no thank you. When it comes to Flores, it really boils down to whether one thinks he got a fair chance to succeed with the Dolphins.
If it's felt he didn't, he is definitely someone who deserves another shot, but he has a lot of baggage as well as he technically is still suing the league.
I don't necessarily think I would prefer Flores over Shula or one of the Kubiak brothers, but I would also not be pissed if they took a shot on him.
Chad O'Shea who's with Cleveland now. Chan Gailey (hired out of retirement) who was immediately back out of the league. Eric Studesville and George Godsey as co-coordinators. Flores arguably had significantly worse OC hires than Tomlin. Ryan Fitzpatrick had some unfavorable reviews regarding Flores as well. Obviously, coaches can change, but getting a top offensive staff with Flores at head coach is a concern. Are you sure that he can't?

I guess it was the man's fault last year when his defense, in a wild card game on the road, held the Rams to 292 yards and 20 points, but the mighty Vikings offense could only score 9. Or it was the man's fault that the Dolphins 10-6 record in 2020 happened to not qualify them for the playoffs, even though a guy like Mike Tomlin has made the postseason 4 out of the last 5 years at 10-7 or worse. Or I suppose it wasn't Minnesota's QB injuries that prevented them from going better than 9-8 this year, it must have been the man's #3 defense to blame. OK. Whatever you say.Ten years all but cheat was on the O side of expertise this is a passing league. The man has not won one playoff game, not even lucking into one.
You, of course, have no way of telling that.Am I sure, sure enough that he isn’t in my 1st tier.
Sure enough to tell you we wouldn’t get the desired results with him. Like a SB victory.
Yeah, God knows that the Steelers don't need a little discipline. They performed so well over the last 15 years with their "player's coach," didn't they? Check.Sure enough to know his concerns are just as great as his accomplishments.
Problems with players? Check
Problems with playoff victories? Check
Went through a decent amount of OCs suggest he has a problem picking coordinators too? Check
Ongoing legal problems which could be a distraction? Check
Enough concerns knowing Rooney likes to hold onto HCs? Check
Sorry definitely not my first second or third choice.
OK, go ahead and research why those coaches were hired and then left. I don't want to waste my time doing that, because @slashsteel has assured me that there's too many problems with Flores, and Rooney won't hire him, so the point is moot.Chad O'Shea who's with Cleveland now. I am actually extremely chill we were debating or not?I guess it was the man's fault last year when his defense, in a wild card game on the road, held the Rams to 292 yards and 20 points, but the mighty Vikings offense could only score 9. Already debunked your lack of playoff success nonsense. Check.
Don't have time to research how/why he went through a lot of OCs. Even good head coaches sometimes have turnover at the position. Could have been any number of reasons. Check.
You may have a point about his litigious nature, I'll give you that. Though how much of an effect it would have on his ability to coach the Steelers, once hired, is probably negligible. Check-minus.
Rooney is going to hire whoever he wants to hire. Check.
Great, Flores isn't one of your top choices. All I said was that I'd be fine if he's hired because he's got a lot of experience in different areas on defense and special teams. Take a chill pill, guy.
I'm kind of in the same boat.
I didn’t say he wouldn’t hire him I said he shouldn’t be their top choice. Why do you sound bitter?OK, go ahead and research why those coaches were hired and then left. I don't want to waste my time doing that, because @slashsteel has assured me that there's too many problems with Flores, and Rooney won't hire him, so the point is moot.
You seemed upset, bro. No worries.I am actually extremely chill we were debating or not?
Sure, because blaming Flores for not making the playoffs at 10-6 makes perfect sense. And you do know that the Miami Dolphins have not won a single playoff game, under ANY head coach, since the year 2000...right?No you didn’t debunk my lack of playoff success he didn’t have it as a head coach. There is no escaping that. It wasn’t nonsense. It was fact.
Chan Gailey wasn't any good? You can research those change of OCs all you want or don’t want. It is simple he didn’t pick good ones.
Rooney is going to hire whomever he wants you are right about that. Let us hope this time he doesn’t hold onto a mediocre product longer than he should.
Amen!Or hires one that can actually win a playoff game in a respectable amount time that might be a good start.
I see how Flores is comparable to Tomlin—winning without an offense. I also saw that he struggled to develop an offense.OK, go ahead and research why those coaches were hired and then left. I don't want to waste my time doing that, because @slashsteel has assured me that there's too many problems with Flores, and Rooney won't hire him, so the point is moot.
You are measured by your success or lack there of.You seemed upset, bro. No worries.

Amen!
