Not bitter at all. You said that Rooney likes to hold on to HCs, and Flores has too many concerns for him to do that.I didn’t say he wouldn’t hire him I said he shouldn’t be their top choice. Why do you sound bitter?

Basically what I was getting at is I didn’t want to get stuck with another mediocre product. I am not convinced Rooney wouldn’t do it again. Not bitter at all. You said that Rooney likes to hold on to HCs, and Flores has too many concerns for him to do that.
Appreciate the research. I guess I will waste some time...lol.I see how Flores is comparable to Tomlin—winning without an offense. I also saw that he struggled to develop an offense.
O’Shea was supposedly fired because a playbook that was too complex. Gailey resigned—he did come out of retirement to take the job. The Ringer reported Flores abrasiveness made it difficult for him to hire an OC and he was eventually fired because he didn’t get along with Tua, the GM or owner, likely because he wanted Herbert over Tua.
You sir win the internet for the day. Well played.Just throwing it out there, but mike Tomlin is available
I like how you tend to ignore all of the circumstances I point out which discredit your argument, then keep on saying the same thing. The Dolphins had only finished above .500 once in the prior ten years before Flores took over. He had two winning records in his three seasons there. Is that not progress? You are measured by your success or lack there of.
Yeah I blame him being there for three years and not one playoff victory he gets some blame for that why wouldn’t he? Cmon you are smart enough to know he just didn’t get it done. When it happens with two teams there has to be an element of his fault even if he shares the blame. And subsequently it makes him a question mark for that with the same problem we had with Mike.
Not sure why that wouldn’t be a concern.
That was one season hence he was partially to blame as there was 5 other seasons . Will you try to sell me that all of those wasn’t his fault as well? Or that he doesn’t share the blame? I know you know he does.I like how you tend to ignore all of the circumstances I point out which discredit your argument, then keep on saying the same thing. I am smart enough to know that usually 10-6 got a team into the playoffs. But it just so happened to not be the case in 2020 in the AFC. NFC teams with records of 10-6 and 7-9 both made it that year. Hard to win a playoff game if they don't allow you to play in one.
I have already posted my concerns and so have a few others so you are not alone.Am I alone in my disbelief of Art Rooney's ability to hire the right head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers? Mr. Dan Rooney, God rest his soul, hired two legendary, Hall of Fame coaches who were the right type of coach for those eras. Noll was a stoic genius, and tough as nails. Cowher was an emotional and motivational hardnosed coach, perfect for the 90's - 2000's football. I don't trust that Art has his finger on what it takes to win in today's NFL. God, I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it in him.
Art knows what it takes to win in today's NFL. And it starts with hiring a Black head coach. Some on this board are more worried about getting a White guy then they are with winning.Am I alone in my disbelief of Art Rooney's ability to hire the right head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers? That rams mess letting Chicago drive right down the field and tie the game was something the Steelers did even when Tomlin was winning! Big no on Shula!! The thing is it’s easier to find defensive coordinators than it is offensive coordinators! Going back to cowher Steelers had problems scoring the ball! My kids have never seen a Steeler offense that ran the Steeler trap and just dominated other teams always hit and miss even with Ben! Can we please sign an offensive guy?
is this sarcasm? I can't tell. Personally, I just hope they hire the right guy and leads the team into a direction we can be proud of and is competitive for a long time.Art knows what it takes to win in today's NFL. And it starts with hiring a Black head coach. Some on this board are more worried about getting a White guy then they are with winning.
Mark my words, the next time we hoist a Lombardi trophy is when it is being held aloft by the steady Black hands of a great head coach.
I highly hope this isn’t the case. It is a colossal failure if it turns out this way.@stuntmanmike I had the exact same thought watching that defensive debacle down the stretch. I was very very high on Shula prior to yesterday's game, because I believe Art II hiring an offensive minded coach is a pipe dream. Sefanski is gone, Minter is going to be gone.
Another funny thing, somewhat related, I heard an interview with Bisciotti (Ravens owner) over the weekend. He mentioned for their HC interviews it will be an 'all day' event, with that candidate meeting several different people, teams, and departments. I started thinking about 'virtual' interviews with coaches that are in the playoffs. What exactly is that 'shortened' virtual interview producing? I think it produces an CYA for the Steelers front office to say, "look, we intereviewed all of these talented football people".
But are they are really? Is Art 2 and Omar REALLY looking or have they already made up their mind??
To my points:

- Los Angeles Rams Passing Game Coordinator Nate Scheelhaase
- (virtual interview Jan. 16)

- (virtual interview Jan. 17)
- Minnesota Vikings Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores
- (in-person interview scheduled for Jan. 20)

It appears it is down to two individuals. very sad

One way to insure A-Rod doesn't come back for 'one more season'? You hire this guy (retread)Art isn't the only owner, not the only vote. I just hope we don't get a retread.
just saw that. Not surprised, I guess.Sean McDermott just became available. Ryan Clark is going to be very confused lol
The two Rams coaches they can't do an in-person interview yet, because they are still tied up in the playoffs, and Klay Kubiak has only just become available for in-person interview, as well as only just completed his virtual interview, so probably haven't yet had an opportunity to schedule an in-person interview with Kubiak yet.@stuntmanmike I had the exact same thought watching that defensive debacle down the stretch. Looked like ignorant drivel to me. But, to each his ownLooked like sarcasm.
