Steelers vs. Bills game day thread

these two will keep the D from what it is capable of being.........
 
If I had to make any excuses for the defense today,
1. This is our 4th preseason game, thier 3rd. Our backups are worn out and our starters are trying not to get injured.
2. The field conditions look like crap. Players even refs are falling constantly.
3. They have more bubble Players and people fighting for starting positions than we do. They have more to prove and we're just trying to get out the preseason healthy.

We will see in two weeks. I'm just not going to call it from watching preseason games.

not enough playing time to get a accurate reading on him going into the regular season IMO....

Well they can't be as bad as they were today because they wouldn't win 3 games like this but you can DAMN sure expect it is bad. Real bad.
 
Landry Jones is the QB who doesn't read the defense. First read only. If he is open great if not I'm still throwing it to him.

Berry....Jesus best player on the field not smoking weed for the Steelers.
 
Yeah preseason isn't a great indicator of anything. I don't like watching guys like Jones get physically outplayed but it really doesn't matter... the lions once had a phenomenal preseason...went 4-0 and looked good... then they lost every game that season...
 
I'm not too worried with the offense, but holy **** I'm deeply worried about our secondary.
 
And have they played any cover 2 cause I thought cover 2 included pressing corners??
 
It looks like our pass coverage isn't getting any better. It looks worse, I hope our offense can score 50 a game.The 20 yard cushions are back.
 
Well not exactly a confidence builder for us fans. Let's hope this is just a bs preseason game. It seems like we have no playmakers again on D,no pass rush as usual. Yes Shazier should be ok,but still I see no pass rush or coverages. We will see. Thurman Thomas "are the steelers this bad?"

Give me one reason to believe they are not what they looked like tonight. They were brutal last year and they got rid of the guy they were banking on being the problem but he might have been the only solution. There wasn't one thing there to hang a hat on
And particularly on defense I think you are what you show in preseason. Brutal.
 
So without reading all these threads as I just got back from my fantasy draft. What happened. I see we lost another kicker. Vick played ok. What else

I actually think the corners will be ok.

I think SS is the biggest question mark and the FO would be in their best interest to see what SS's will be available come final cuts..............
 
The "hybrid" scheme where the ends move inside and the outside linebackers lineup as standup ends is like the old "prevent" defense in that it prevents you from winning. We can't stop the run in this formation or rush the passer. It suks. You are put smaller ends in against 320 lb guards and centers and linebackers against tackles. Complete mismatch on the line in all the wrong ways. If you can't control the line of scrimmage you are not going to win nfl, college, high school, pee wee....

I think we have seen what Shamarko,J Jones, and Harris bring. Which isn't enough............

Bell is only two games and if Bryant appeals maybe none this year.

Wheaton and Antonio, and Bell and Heath and DeAngelo Williams. I think the O will be fine. Timmons played little, Tuitt will be back, Boykin and Gay will be solid. Harrison in spot play, Dupree will come on IMO before season end. I like what I see from him so far.

I think the Steelers live and die by safety play this year.......

Dupree injured now too? Sadly this season looks done before it even started.
