Steelers trading up rd 2

Lmao ... some folks wanted them to move up in the FIRST for this or that player. Now it's possible that they've identified a player they believe is worth moving up for in the second and we're counseling that they should be more conservative?

Vince Williams and Sean Spence could be on the block here.

I guess it makes a little sense with DL in Nashville....

I don't mind if its a value pick

**** I am just glad they have a plan

lulz

Depends on what they can trade Jarvis and our second for a chance at Owa or if one of the corners that are left are appealing to them or one of the top safetys.

To trade up that high, they must like one of the top rated players for this round who has a first round grade. Those players would be:

Gregory LB Pot Flag & Mental toughness flag!
Collins OL Murder Flag!
Jalean Strong WR
Eddie Goldman DE
Diggy OLB
PJ Williams CB
Jake Fisher/ TJ Clemmings OTs
DGB WR
Landon Collins S
Ronald Darby CB
Maxx Williams TE
Jalen Collins CB

I know I'm a minority here, but In this situation I trade up for the BPA without Flags. Jalean Strong. You get a big bodied, aggressive receiver. Anquan Boldenesque. My type of receiver!

I'd rather put Timmons on it. Would get more trade appeal, get his salary off the books too.

He's one of the few bright spots on D... This discussion could go 20 pages

Re-*******-lax...they are NOT trading up to grab a TE......ive seen stupid but the GM aint THAT stupid...........theres a couple of players they deem as "cant-miss" so they are exploring the possibility.......could be a smokescreen. I just don't see them grabbing a TE when Butler wants valuable parts to improve his version of Blitzburgh.

Steelers have one CB targeted for 2nd round and might have to trade up to get him. If they don't, they might wait till 3rd rd to draft one

If nothing else, I like the speculation and excitement of trading up. Could be a smoke screen. We all know how they covert their picks.

What would the purpose of the smokescreen be? To get another team to trade up further for some reason?

If they trade up in the 2nd for a TE, I'm going to throw a brick at my TV. And I freakin' love my TV.

Schefter must be drunk, that part makes no sense

I think I figured it out. The Steelers want Gregory and they are gonna trade Jarvis to the raiders!

You're out of your mind. He's one of the best middle line backers in professional football.

When was the last time the Steelers traded a player to move up in a draft? I cant remember a time. I could see them trading picks but not a player.

On NFL Live, Scheffter and Mort just talked about the Titans talking with Washington and Pittsburgh. Mentioned Maxx Williams again but than also mentioned Landon Collins.

I am not saying they have a history of it but it might be a way to move up with out sacrificing the rest of the draft. It would be interesting to see what they could package to get the corner they want or the next possible great linebacker as there are still some available. maybe they package a third and fourth and a player for a second rounder to have a first and two seconds, who knows what they are looking at. I just do not want any picks from next year traded.

I have zero problem moving up in the second to get defensive talent particularly if it is near 1st round talent. Say we give up a second next year plus later rounds this year. We are getting a guy that makes the defense better quicker. The Championship window is 3-4 years with Ben. The quicker the defense gets ok to good the better the chance. Anyone drafted next year gets good as the window closes. Mortgage up now. But for God sakes make it a defensive player. Cause clearly that is what needs fixing.

Here's a better report

Steelers looking to move up in second round

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Steelers are one of the teams trying to move up to a higher pick on Friday night. The Steelers currently hold the 56th pick in the second round and have six more picks in their pocket in later rounds.

The Titans are taking calls on the 33rd pick and it’s safe to assume that the other teams at the top of the second round are or will be fielding inquiries as teams try to snatch up players that didn’t go on Thursday night.

Schefter doesn’t have any details on who the Steelers might be targeting in a trade,
although it wouldn’t be surprising if they want to add more defensive pieces. Cornerback is a particular need for the team and they visited with several of them before the draft, including the still undrafted LSU’s Jalen Collins and Ohio State’s Doran Grant.

If they do trade up I just hope it is Eric Rowe. I think that he could be a stud!

Schefter was also reporting about how the Titans would trade the #2 pick and Minnesota was trading Peterson.

I would love a trade up if it is someone the team thinks can help IN THE SECONDARY. I wouldn't fault them if they missed on the pick, I simply want them to be more aggressive in the draft than they have been in recent years.
