Steelers trading up rd 2

Per Adam Scheffter on NFL Insiders just now, Pittsburgh is in talks with the Oakland Raiders to try and move up in the second round.
Scheffter also thinks it's for TE Maxx Williams from Minnesota.
Thoughts?
 
Gotta be an expensive jump and I wouldn't jump up for anything, but someone who could help the secondary. They can't go through the second round without secondary help. No way.
 
And he just said Pittsburgh talking to Tennessee, too about their 2nd round pick.
So that's the #1 and #3 pick of the second round.
He says the top six teams are fielding lots of calls, but he's not mentioned any other team specifically other than Pittsburgh wanting to trade up and now mentioned them twice in great length.
Landon Collins, maybe?

Yea that seems nuts to trade up for someone other than a CB. Maxx Williams would be great for the offense but they only have 3 corners with starting experience. And the only one that is solid is 30
 
If this is true you've got to think they've fallen in love with one of those CB's, ie have one guy ranked significantly higher (1st rnd grade) than the others.... or maybe it is a darkhorse guy like Landon Collins or the TE. Heck, maybe they do want to wipe the slate clean w Jarvis and grab another edge rusher. Oh, the intrigue....
 
If they trade up and grab a safety or CB?!? The draft will already be a success.

If they trade up and grab Maxx?! Colbert will have some 'xplaining to do....
 
It's a BIG jump.
I guess it depends on what the cost is and who we're targeting.
 
I hope that is a joke. Trading up for a TE??? That makes no sense.
 
No f'n way. No corner is worth it and Williams sure as hell isn't either. I would hold tight and trade up right before San Fran to nab Jalen Collins.
 
One TE, a few CBs and a couple more LBs.....why not wait until 7-8 picks in?
This would make more sense if they had been more active in FA....
 
It would be nuts if we traded for Gregory and then traded Jarvis for nothing to someone.
 
I could live with that scenario, but wouldn't necessarily trade Jones for nothing. I only trade to the top of the second to get first round talent.

I think we better draft a CB before round 5 this year.
 
If they trade up I would have to think Landon Collins or Eric Rowe. They have a surplus of inside LB'ers and Dickey being in Tennessee knows both Spence and Vince Williams. Swap our 2'nd and one of these LB'ers plus our 5'th and 6'th round picks. That would be too expensive for me though.
Maxx Williams is the new type NFL TE that would be nice to have but man with the glaring need at CB I cannot see this happening. I would think its to get Rowe or Landon Collins.
 
It's probably going to cost a 2/3/4 to move up, and it may be more like a 2nd/4th/2016 2nd
 
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers are interested in acquiring the Titans' No. 33 overall pick.
Per Schefter, the Titans are "taking calls." Schefter doesn't mention potential targets for the Steelers, but Alabama S Landon Collins would make a ton of sense for a team that desperately needs to replenish its stable of defensive backs. A cornerback or Minnesota TE Maxx Williams could also be in the mix.

Thats the thing though- Maxx isnt the the type of the NFL TE.

He is no where near the physical specimen of a Gronk/Graham. He is not that big and certainly not that fast.
 
I can't even begin to understand what corner they think is worth trading up for?
 
Dale Lolley has confirmed that we are looking to trade up. Jalen Collins maybe? Rowe?

You've still got a few hours, buy some insurance real quick, then you can enjoy letting off steam my hucking the brick at it, and still be able to swing around and pick-up a replacement TV on Monday. Just a thought. ;)
 
Jalen Collins, Rowe, Willliams, or Landon Collins would have to be their targets.. unless they want Randy Gregory?
 
If nothing else, I like the speculation and excitement of trading up. Could be a smoke screen. We all know how they covert their picks.
