Steelers select Dri Archer in Round 3

It's that cartoon speed that Willie Parker had for about 2 years.

I'm giving Dri 6 TD's this year. This kid will be something special for us. He has the skills and the drive.

No, just waiting until the real football. But I see it's ok for the CJC to come out and praise one play (while forgetting the ****** PRs)..

ok so the CJC encompasses anyone who disagrees with you .. OR is a Steeler fan who points out that Archer did well? Just trying for some semblance of a real label here. Otherwise, everyone not named "Vader" is in the CJC and they are all out of step in the Steeler parade,, only Vader is in step.

Don't forget Idiot, he's the Co-Chairman apparently. From what I understand those two proudly represent the entire non CJC population. Christmas parties must be killer.

Circle Jerk Committee.

CJC is short for the Circle Jerk Club a loving term coined by Vader to describe most anyone who disagrees with him.. cjc aka pompom wavers , aka anyone who vader thinks cant have a thought of their own otherwise they would agree with him. aka,,, anyone who is happy archer did well in a preseason game and brought it up.. aka anyone vader thinks might really like the job Tomlin is doing ,,, OR someone who just doesn't speak poorly of him.

How am I doing president Andrew? Did I get it right? (this could be my big chance to move up in the ranks!)

You sir just earned yourself a gold star. Well done. Keep it up there is a autographed Dri Archer nerf ball coming your way.

Wheaton is pretty damn fast himself. And he just gave up.

Prince Amukamara ran a 4.43 at the NFL Combine, so he's not exactly slow. He had to take a WIDE angle to get Archer.

I can't believe the dude is that damn fast.

And I know he didnt do anything with the punts but wasnt we told he couldnt catch NFL punts?? Looked good to me clean catches, knew when to fair catch. Now to work on getting up field.

The kid is fast. But it was ONE play. I hope he develops into a weapon but be still has to prove himself

Ctfu @ vader. I didnt think you had a humorous bone in your body. Well done.

To get back on track of the thread, I thought this kid would get destroyed very quickly in the nfl. I listened to the other folks who thought he was a wasted pick as well and thought they might be right. Then some of the folks labeled in the cjc posted some videos of this kid in college and I thought he is fast and quick but in weak competition. Every body but the cjc wanted somebody else, many folks thought Bryant would have been a better choice. Well it looks like the kid did a better job than Bryant in his first NFL game and the talent he faced even in preseason is much better than he likely saw in college. The kids one big play was pretty good. He had some ok punt returns, did not drop the ball, fair caught the thing so as to not loose it, and did something that everyone said could not be done, he caught a pass.

Now a close comparison could be made to this point about him being better than Bryant in that came and he was. They are both rookies and are likely to make mistakes all season just from a case of the nerves. They will likely get better. I'm not ready to call either of them great but I am now cautiously hopeful that they were not wasted picks and have the potential to help the team this year.

No no no, he can't return punts in the NFL, he didn't do it in college, and it was clearly and loudly stated in the beginning of this thread that he could not, would not, simply was going to be incapable of returning any punts in the NFL. Haven't you guys read any of this thread?

Almost everyone in the CJC didnt want Archer. I knew who he was of course but he was not high on the list for me. At that point in the draft I wanted Phillip Gaines who went earlier and was willing to settle for Bryant or Desir the CB. Was just as suprised as everyone by the Archer pick. I like the rest of the CJC was just willing to give him a chance.

We were told this without a doubt. He can not do it.

thanks for the clip Spike, couldn´t watch the game.

The kid is not only fast but he also has amazing COD and apparently good vision too. I just hope he lasts cause the tools... they are there all right

About him not being able to hold on to the ball, well ,at least he started better than Martavis so probably he is way ahead of what the doom and gloom people thought.

Don't forget, late in the game, he was given a couple of hand offs and ran between the tackles. Granted it was scrub time, but there was no fear and he held up just fine.

That is some serious speed right there.......as was stated, nice COD, great vision...turns what i would assume was a moderate 15-20 yarder into nearly 50 because of his field vision. But that speed...............jeezus..........ive only seen Primetime run that fast. I still think he had an extra half-a-gear he could have used had there not been the sideline. His speed is .......HYPERSONIC. He should be fined for being that fast. Look at the way he got separation from the linebacker and #27. It wasnt even close to being a match in footspeed.

Its only one game, one play, but just the respect he garners if he hits the field......as a DC you HAVE TO KNOW where he is at all times. GAME-CHANGER!!!

Im payin attention for FV (Fantasy Value)
