Steelers select Dri Archer in Round 3

He did that with some really poor blocking too. Who in the hell was 84 going to block? I didn't catch the number of the guy that was going to block 20 but he did a piss poor job as well.

I have been here since we were debating Kordell Stewart being the starting quarterback. I have never, ever, in that time, had to ignore a poster for being a ******* idiot. I'm considering it with you. Does that give you any idea of how ******* completely painful and idiotic every ******* post I've read from you so far has been? Just curious.

Joe

Yeah joe... I agree. I don't even block vader or idiotech. THIS GUY however.... (probably Lloyds forearm)....

I hated the Archer pick, and am still wondering if I want him to succeed just because I don't want the Steelers to ever draft another player like him. But a few plays like this one in the regular season will make me doubt myself...which in this case would be a good thing.

I still have plenty of faith in Bryant, guy was out there in a NFL uni for the first time. We don't need him to be our go to guy at any point this season, and once he gains his confidence back from last night he will be fine (I hope).

Man, Archer stunk it up tonight huh? I mean, fumbling that punt, then fumbling the game away when he just had to stay down for a first down, ****. I guess everyone was right that we needed to pick Bryant before him just to make sure we got that guy. Oh, wait, what? Bryant was the one fumbling punts (even though I read ALL OVER this thread that archer would never be able to handle punt duty) and Bryant was the guy who fumbled the ball away? Hmmm. That's strange.

We will see what the rest of the pre season, and the regular season holds, but one of these guys looked pretty good, and the other, well, not so much.

Joe
Once we figure out how to block for the kid - LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE...

take that *******!

I must add...

Chris Rainey had 2 catches for 65 yards in his debut. Archer looked awful on punt returns, looking scared and ducking immediately after catching the ball and then hesitating and not quickly turning upfield on the 2nd. He loooked incredibly fast on the reception.

To be fair on those punt returns he had very little room to run, so he fair caught a few........ IMO showing good hands.

Rainey had behavioral issues, and he looked like a pin ball when he was tackled.

Not getting that from Archer. For a small player he held his own out there IMO. He didn't fumble when he was hit, and bounced back up on plays.

We know he is stronger than Rainey, in that regards there should be no comparison.

Behavior problems off the, eventually equate to problems on the field. Not just from last night, but Archer is different than Rainey, in a good way.

Salute the nation

If he succeeds, why would you NOT want them drafting more guys like him in the future? Sounds like it would be a smart decision to me and good for the team.

Learn a little about football and you will see im right. Reading your posts leads me to believe you are new to the game ,stupid or probably both.

Yeah, the consensus here is you're a ******* genius.

Welcome back Floyd's Foreskin! Here is one of your quotes might be paraphrasing a bit. I'm sure the members will remember this one.

"Just think you get all my knowledge of the game here for free!
Don't know how long that will last but my knowledge is vast
And can't be denied"

Glad to see you can still stir the pot!

Cant believe this thread isn't 200 pages yet.... also I believe the knock on him was that he was going to be worn out and injured easily and that he fumbles too much after thebig hit... as with most small shifty and fast players, getting him with the ball in open space is key, but its easier said than done.....

I keep watching that .gif, his speed is hypnotizing...look how he leaves wheaton in the dust as if wheaton were a lineman

Nice game by Dri. Still a bit to early to label him as anything.

Where are all the people bitching about the pick??
Hanging their heads in shame, and it's just gonna get worse and worse (for them) as Archer gets better and better...

If they are rooting for Archer to fail so they can massage their egos by saying they were right, then they are ****** excuses for Steeler fans.

Faster then Wallace and not afraid to get touched like Dion Sanders or Wallace.... So far,so good.

It's so awesome to see Heath trying to run down and block someone. He just couldn't run fast enough.

he don't need no stinking blocking, just a little room in open spce

Lol. Check miller out when he turns up field to block. He at full speed ten yards plus ahead and dri fly bye. Love it. I hope he pans out and we find use for him in the offense.

No, just waiting until the real football. But I see it's ok for the CJC to come out and praise one play (while forgetting the ****** PRs). It only counts if he does well. If he doesn't do well then everybody forgets it and he is never thought of again. Just like Rainey. Nobody on here will admit to loving the draft pick... but if you could go back and see many on here absolutely loved the pick.. but crickets now.

Fly bye is right. Amazing to see his elite speed in this clip. From the 50 to the 40 in literally a blink of an eye. Then covers the next 20 yards where he's seemingly already slowing up a bit as he sees the defenders converge on the sideline. But he's still moving twice as fast as anyone else. It is rarified air, as Tomlin puts its. Not many players in the league that can move that fast which such ease. Smooth as silk.
