Steelers lost at home with Ben throwing 3 picks to the Bengals in 2015.

Most of you thought we shouldve won the SB last season after losing to Denver.

When we go out and beat Dallas by three touchdowns next week we'll all be happy.

We aren't beating the Pat's in Foxboro. I'll be shocked if they aren't representing the AFC. We aren't that great of a team either.

Steelers still fell short in coaching which led to the team falling short last year, and the year before, etc, etc.etc.

But yes by allllllllllllll means let Ben get in a groove and cover up the trending deficiencies just enough to think about what might have been.

But look guysms we were sooooooooo close

just like Marty was for the Chiefs for so many years...

so close

but this so close team has a franchise elite QB that should get another-ring, but probably won't be able to overcome ****** coaching decisions.

yeah that is ******* relaxing

I would rather take Valium or put my head in a vice and watch it explode..

Fixed it for you

Franchise elite QBs win games regardless of the talent around them.. the team goes as far as Ben goes and he hasn't really been that great when it matters the most.

Sorry bro - I hear you and I am not giving up on the season or anything, but I'm having a really hard time being optimistic. It's the same song over and over. We lost the same types of games to the same types of teams with the same types of performances from our offense specifically, year-in and year-out. We obviously do not have the mental makeup currently in the organization to come out and reverse the negative trends.

Again, it's not to say we can't turn things around. As a PSU fan as well, I am seeing first-hand a team turning around its season when it seemed like another "same old". I just don't feel good about that happening with this group of coaches, this QB, etc.

the trend

the fact here there is some fans that will live and die with Tomlin, swearing he isn't the problem.

until it is too late and Ben retires..........

that is what path I fear this team is taking..........

Defense wins championships.

Pittsburgh doesn't have a defense.

Accept it. You'll live longer.

Only one guy in the league right now who fits the bill...

Yeah it really was our defense that killed us today. Let up a whole 14 points and countlessly gave the offense great field position.

Say what? We actually looked like a Steelers defense today. It's our offense that somehow doesn't know how to show up on the road

and yet the Raven O has been **** all year so bad the O coordinator was canned.

But what is correct the D played well enough to win today

but the coaching overall didn't put the whole team in a position to win

Our D gave up 1 play where Burns misses a tackle and his safety help blew it with a bad angle and pathetic attempt at an arm tackle. Aside from that horrid play the D looked decent. Shazier looked like he was returning to form, Silverback was playing inspired, JJ looked pretty good, Burns and Cockrell mostly held their guys under control, Heyward took his first steps to returning to form...a decent outing for that unit.

The discipline was a complete failure, way too many boneheaded penalties.
The special teams were horrid.
Ben looked completely uninspired until it was too late.
The offensive play calling was putrid-predictable, situationally misguided and generally looking scared.

It seemed the offensive game plan was merely to not get Ben hit at all costs. 3rd and long-run the ball to avoid the pass rush, anybody coming through just chuck it away. If Ben was too much of a risk for reinjury we should've just rolled out Landry, run the system and let the chips fall where they may. The risk vs reward in playing him in that game plan was definitely not worth it.

At least Ben didn't get killed and got his post injury egg layed, now maybe we can get onto some football. If Tomlin could figure out how not to be owned by the Rat turds that would be great too, we must win our home game vs. them.

sorry but it seems that you didn't watch the game today

If I am coaching that game I am saying two things

1 Don't force the run against a solid rat D, set the run up using play action short passes. No bombs away if the accuracy is off.Let's move the chains......
2 Sit a unsteady QB down who obviously was inaccurate due to a injury holding him back, even if only due to lack of prep time. As many of past games would have told me to keep a short leash.

In case you missed it, Ben was inaccurate and ****** vs Miami pre injury, and vs the Eagles. Ben wasn't ******* hurt. He played fine, moved fine in the fourth quarter when they opened up the ******* offense.

And that falls on putting him in the right position to succeed and changing up your approach or his.

Great coaches have control over their teams.

I remember Brett for example used to throw so many INTs but under one coach he minimized them.

A good coach knows a players weaknesses and strengths and guides the player to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses

if a player or a team is trending the wrong way?

that is 100% on the head coach to fix it.

Also if its a game here and there you can blame a player or the team,

but not bad trends

sorry only one person responsible for bad trends

the leader of the team the head coach

I agree somewhat. Ben has been playing like ****. Especially at this phase in his career, he is not gonna change a thing. Ben is prone to making mistakes, he likes to go for the big play. But it's the coaches job to grow a pair and tell Ben to listen. I think it's time to find his replacement. Maybe not this draft, but soon. I think Ben has 2-3 seasons left in him. After that, the Steelers need to find their next guy

They're not trending in the wrong way. They have been banged up, injured, played the best team in the NFL last week, then played the team that plays them the toughest.
