Our D gave up 1 play where Burns misses a tackle and his safety help blew it with a bad angle and pathetic attempt at an arm tackle. Aside from that horrid play the D looked decent. Shazier looked like he was returning to form, Silverback was playing inspired, JJ looked pretty good, Burns and Cockrell mostly held their guys under control, Heyward took his first steps to returning to form...a decent outing for that unit.
The discipline was a complete failure, way too many boneheaded penalties.
The special teams were horrid.
Ben looked completely uninspired until it was too late.
The offensive play calling was putrid-predictable, situationally misguided and generally looking scared.
It seemed the offensive game plan was merely to not get Ben hit at all costs. 3rd and long-run the ball to avoid the pass rush, anybody coming through just chuck it away. If Ben was too much of a risk for reinjury we should've just rolled out Landry, run the system and let the chips fall where they may. The risk vs reward in playing him in that game plan was definitely not worth it.
At least Ben didn't get killed and got his post injury egg layed, now maybe we can get onto some football. If Tomlin could figure out how not to be owned by the Rat turds that would be great too, we must win our home game vs. them.
