Sources – Brown Requests Trade

If Ben is a Tomlin guy, Tomlin is not going anywhere. Get that thought out of your little heads until Ben calls it a day. Would the Giants trade OBJ because he is a PINTA 24/7? Hell no, they make it work with Eli. I don't see the Steelers doing anything regarding those three. This will blow over, cooler heads will prevail and Colbert/ARII/Tomlin will have a pow wow with AB. 2019 is going to be season where it's go big or go home for MT and BR. Ben will be 37 and Tomlin's contract is up. AB will get reeled in and they will promise him changes with personnel and FAs. Everyone needs to settle down until it plays out.

Another team not in the playoffs. Boy the Steelers and giants are

How it’s done

Hard to tell if Tomlin is his guy, as he will say all the right things no matter what the subject is. Hell he even pumped up Haley and he couldn't stand him.

I don't think he wants any major changes in the twilight of his career. He got his OC that puts the ball in his hands. Changing your HC would be a change in philosophy, scheme and players. I think he is going to live and die with MT.

You mean 16 point Ben against Cinci without Brown?

No I mean 2 SB wins without AB. Are you talking about the Josh Dobbs led offense that won us that Oakland game?.. oh wait.

both defenses are ****. They have 2-time SB winning QB, one of the best RBs in the league and the #1 or 2 WR. With tweeks on D and ST, both teams could be back in the PO next year. They do their share of being double-teamed and contributing for their team. You can't take them lightly on the field, no matter what their attitudes are like off of it.

Ward was a total diva... the news media just loved him so his whining and blowups weren’t made public and blown out of proportion...
If brown had gotten nailed with drunk driving with his mistress in his car he would get ripped to shreds here... Most people don’t even know that happened to Ward...
Well i didn't know, thanks

Those Ben days are behind us. There is no disciplined structure like it was back then. Ben has cost us games this year. He is still our best option, but without AB, there will be a drastic drop off. That was a terrible Bengals team we played at home...

What does discipline have to do with Ben winning with average WRs? Ben is the reason we win all the games we do, don't forget that.

Again Ben isn't the reason this team missed the playoffs. Far from it.

What games has he cost us??? That's one game we struggled, how about the playoff game at Denver couple years ago, no Bell or AB and Ben still went over 300 yards and had us in position to win until Fitz fumbled, that same D shut Brady down the next week.
Maybe getting rid of a selfish attitude will make the team better

Steelers seem to be a diva factory. We get rid of AB and there will be another one around the corner. There must be a root cause to this constant crap.

Head coach/QB...... there is the root if you want to see it. Not saying AB and some others don't get their share of the blame as well.

From you tube comments on this video pay particular attention to the second post, this guy/gal GETS IT. Not saying I agree with the racial angle although the logic behind the excuse for Ben getting a pass is productivity it is hard to dispute. I think that is up for every individual to determine as to what their motivation is to defend all things Ben and not be honest about this team.

Tyler G lol doesn’t matter how productive you are, if you’re a cancer then you’re hurting the team more than helping

@ nuetral nick How do you feel about getting rid of Ben then? You see that's the problem with us Steeler fans: we talk about how everyone is a problem Bell, Tomlin, AB no matter how productive they are. Yet Ben is untouchable, why?.......because he's so productive.....WHAT? Yet he has been a BIG part of the culture problem on this team since 2004. I often think because I can see no other answer that this is a racial thing. I mean it has to be, not saying it's you nuetral Nick I just see it EVERYWHERE. Steeler fans can NOT be honest about the team INCLUDING BEN. Ben has been causing problems since his first year and was still causing discord up until the very start of this season. It's easy to see why the players don't respect him and feel they can behave the same way. You would think the guy would have grown up after getting married, but apparently not.

You guys can go ahead and hit me with more negative rep. now......kill the messenger, I get it.

Schlereth really hits the nail on the head here.

Ben has been a big part of the problem? hahahahahaha that is ridiculous.

I read that too as they are subtracting his cap hit from the dead money. Not sure if that changes in year 2.

If they traded Brown after June 1st instead of before, they would free up $12.625 million in additional cap space this year instead of $1.045 million, but there would be some dead money hit rolled over to 2020. Plus they would have to pay his $2.5 million roster bonus this March. So if they're going to trade it's probably better to do it before March, absorb the full hit now and get it over with.

Nick Wright gets it. Funny to see the sports media people starting to see what my eyes have been open to for more than a decade.

About the 7:00 minute mark....

And when they trade him they better subtract some wins, because there is not enough productive talent at the position.

It will be double Juju and see if you can beat them.

I have a sneaky suspicion that wouldn't work out too well.

well, many Ben bashers are in for a rude awakening when he calls it a day. He may act like a drama queen here and there, but there's only a handful of leaders on that team and it starts with #7.

Improve the defense, and we'll be fine.
Ben, Juju, Conner, and our Oline blows what Baltimore has away and they won the division and are in the playoffs. We haven't won with AB.

How long have they tried to do that and failed?

I would say if you get rid of Brown you better have two other productive options coming in. Because we know what Ben brings to the table.

Agreed, might have to get a bigger name free agent on D, maybe even a wr, but with this Oline and the RBs out of the backfield, I think they'll be ok.

If mediocrity is "fine" then yeah I guess we will be. Ben will throw for a jillion yards, AB will dance, and we will win nothing.

But yeah...**** Lev Bell...........

Ben a leader...lol...

There's a reason he got that football thrown at him.

You have the best WR in football and you say something like " Yeah I wish we had thrown it to ju ju all 4 times." in a childish attack on him.

Some of you will wake up one day.
