Sources – Brown Requests Trade

If La Canfora's report is true (and I have no reason to say it isn't), between the lines Brown is saying he'd like to see either BR or Tomlin gone.

It won't be the quarterback.

Now, LeBron James did get a coach fired. Just sayin'.

Same guy who said Ben requested a trade. I’ll wait til AB says he wants traded.

What happens when he doesn't run his routes correctly or drops easy passes, especially in the end zone. Then you have all that money just sitting on the sidelines (in a fur coat) or in a strip joint.

Yeah then no one else wants him either.

Just like Bell, Brown is a malcontent who won't be happy no matter which team he is on nor how much money he makes. He'll always need more to feel respected. They seriously need to flush these me first players out of the organization ASAP. It's quickly becoming the culture of the team which leads to more young guys turning into these type of people. It can become a never ending cycle. They need to have the players in the locker room who aren't afraid to tell these guys to shut the **** up and fall in line. Of course in this age they would probably get sued for a microaggression for talking to a teammate that way. Something needs to be done immediately to fix this team culture. Maybe a lot of somethings need to be done to fix it. Whether that means the entire coaching staff gets cleaned out or not, then so be it.

Sounds like a they need to hire a complete prick and a staff of complete pricks who don't give a **** about the feelings and whims of divas in the locker room.

I'm hoping this is all just end of a ****** season frustration. Tomlin did the right thing in benching him. Had to happen. Hopefully he settles down.

I'm not fully convinced Brown even made a trade request. The guy who reported it isn't necessarily dependable.

According to Ryan Clark it was well known that Brown was crazy before they gave him the big money. They gambled on talent, and it isn't working right now.

I don't doubt for a second that Brown request a trade....

Having covered sports for major newspapers for many years, players do that all the time. But most of the time it's kept private.

Brown is a stat guy. He must also know that Ben helps him get those " stats " and if he goes to another team, he won't be quite as good.

Having said that, IF we can trade him for two #1's picks ( I'll take both the Raiders 1st round picks the Raiders to have at pick #24 and Pick #28 ) AND they his cap number, Aidios Antonio!

This would give the Steelers THREE first round picks at #20, #24, and #28, PLUS Brown and Bell's cap space in free agency. While its true the Raiders picks at #24 and #28 could be later if Cowboys and Bears do well in the playoffs, I say so what.

Under such a scenario we could have a draft and free agency like this:

Pick # 20, OLB Clelin Ferrell
Pick #24 ILB Mack Wilson
Pick #28 WR Paris Campbell or AJ Brown

Then in free agency, assuming the player isn't tagged I'll buy :

Safety Landon Collins, or Clinton Dix, either are a huge upgrade over Davis

AND the best corner we can get.

Ward was a total diva... the news media just loved him so his whining and blowups weren’t made public and blown out of proportion...
If brown had gotten nailed with drunk driving with his mistress in his car he would get ripped to shreds here... Most people don’t even know that happened to Ward...

AB pissed off the fraternity of sports media hacks. Everything he does will be examined with a fine toothed comb.

They can go **** themselves.

Haven't you been reading what we have been saying, you want get cap space by trading him, you will be 21 million in the hole.

Minus the bonus, which is a **** load of dead money I believe

OK I did some research, trading Brown would actually save $1.045M in cap space in 2019, not much since as some have pointed out his pro-rated bonus would become fully due immediately, but it wouldn't impede our ability to sign FA's and in fact would actually help with the cap slightly. But since there's not much cap savings there would have to be an offer of a high draft pick for a deal to be worth it from the Steelers standpoint.

I read that too as they are subtracting his cap hit from the dead money. Not sure if that changes in year 2.

Maybe Brown has seen how Bell is forcing his way out and stealing the blueprint.

Tomlin I'm sure is a good man, his time is just up in Pitt. Does anyone remember Tomlin's first 2 seasons where his training camp was so hard players were complaining abour running out of gas late in the season? How far has he devolved from that to this cross between a country club and a circus??

Tomlin needs to take a year off in a cushy analyst job, and resurface reinvented on a new team, hed probably have his pick of any open hc job open a year from now...he can't be enjoying himself...just resign for everyone's own good.

Tomlin needs elite talent to look average. Bell now Brown. Could be a 4 win season next year.

I guarantee this all started when they gave Juju the team MVP. We all know what Brown is all about and I could definitely see how this type of thing would stick in his craw. How many years did it take him to finally stop getting celebration penalties that were hurting his team’s chances of winning the game, but he simply didn’t give a ****. As long as the spotlight was on him, he didn’t give two ***** how it affected the team. Now it’s on him in a negative way and he’s gonna pout and say he wants traded instead of manning up and apologizing. I say don’t let the door hit you in the ***.

Santonio Holmes got himself traded, I'd think Antonio Brown could do the same. We would be OK without him provided we got a decent return. 1st and third or a 2nd and third and he would be gone in my book. Might be a little light but then again TEAM chemistry is way more important and we bring in replacement(s) that there wouldn't be near as much a drop off as you'd think. Look what BELL's departure brought us. EVEN J-Sam isn't as much a drop off as one would've thought, production wise. I mean coach nTOMLIN can pick wide receivers like no one else,.......right??? Oh and Eli Rodgers needs a boot as well, he's your next diva.

Salute the nation

No way it better be a blockbuster trade, like two ones and a decent amount of other rounds mixed in. We are talking about a record breaking WR here.

If Ben is a Tomlin guy, Tomlin is not going anywhere. Get that thought out of your little heads until Ben calls it a day. Would the Giants trade OBJ because he is a PINTA 24/7? Hell no, they make it work with Eli. I don't see the Steelers doing anything regarding those three. This will blow over, cooler heads will prevail and Colbert/ARII/Tomlin will have a pow wow with AB. 2019 is going to be season where it's go big or go home for MT and BR. Ben will be 37 and Tomlin's contract is up. AB will get reeled in and they will promise him changes with personnel and FAs. Everyone needs to settle down until it plays out.

If Ben isn't on the team.. yeah, probably.

Not that is actions were right, but Juju shouldn't have gotten the MVP. That is like making it a popularity contest.

Hard to tell if Tomlin is his guy, as he will say all the right things no matter what the subject is. Hell he even pumped up Haley and he couldn't stand him.
